Wild and Wonderful

| November 9, 2009

I know you guys don’t care much about my personal life, but I owe you an explanation for my lack of participation today. We were in “Wild and Wonderful” West Virginia house shopping and we found one. The one pathetic post I did today was written while zooming down I-270. After the first of the year, TAH Headquarters is moving 2 hours outside of DC to a mountainside near Fort Ashby, WV.

Now that my wife found a house, I get to shop for a Silverado.

For this move to be perfect, I’m hoping that Robert Byrd holds on to life for one more election so I can vote against him.

Congrats!

🙂

Just A Grunt

I hope there is a Home Depot nearby.

And does West Virginia even have internet access?

Oh and before I bought a Government Motors Silverado I would look at the Ford F-150. The one I have is now 14 years old and other then oil changes and tires it has been very low maintenance. Okay I did change the radiator, but that is about all.

Congrats on the house in WV … hope your request comes true to vote against Byrd before he meets his 72 virgins.

Trucks? Silverado??? Get a truck dude … Ford F-250 super heavy duty 4WD, turbo-diesel, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh!!!
70mph at 1800rpm all day long, pulling a trailer or not … 18mpg

Heck man, the truck wars are just like the inter-service wars hahaha

So if a couple divorces in West Virginia, are they still brother and sister?

Claymore

Yes, they are Sparky, but you still have to figger out who gets custody of the Franklin Mint Elvis dinner plates, the Dale Earnhardt shot glasses and the antique empty shotgun shell collection.

Oh boy… the West Virgina joke fest has begun.

BTW Jonn, the panhandle is only sorta West Virgina. Those of us who live on this side of the hills will happily spend your taxes dollars though.

Looks like you’re moving into Alan Mollohan’s district. Should find some fodder for TAH with that.

And I have a Silverado, need any help moving?

OldSoldier54

Beautiful country from what I saw last summer driving up to Harper’s Ferry from Ft. Belvoir.

You’ll be closer to me. Life is GOOD!

Know what the most common greeting is is West Virginia?

Nice tooth!

But seriously, there’s some nice folks down around McDowell.

I’ve not thought of moving there, but I’ve given serious thought to western Maryland, around Sharpsburg or Frederick, Boonsboro or Keedysville.

Either that or Texas. Depends how this next year turns out.

Best of luck, Jonn, and let me know if I can help in any way.

Respects,

Athena

Congratulations and Best of Luck to you!

OldTrooper

Congrats, Jonn and the missus!! If you need help moving, I think TSO has some recent experience in that arena 😀

Sounds like a nice area, also.

Good luck on the new place. I am sure it would be satisfying to be instrumental in voting that senile old fool, Byrd, out of office but why don’t you think about running against him? I would send money.

Mr Wolf

WV is my family stomping grounds. Head south into Dolly Sods and Spruce Knob- best areas in WV. Climbing Seneca Rocks is a fave pastime, too. The camping can’t be beat..

Silverado? GM (Gov’t Motors?) Dude, please. Give us hope…

GOOD LUCK! You’re now gonna be in West-By-God-Virginia!

Jonn, You can tell your friends you live in Western Virginia.

Mr. Wolf noted: (Gov’t Motors?) Dude, Please.

My Silverado is a 2000, and all but cherry.

And I’m in central WV – I think here is the best area of WV.

VTWoody

I work in Ranson, you’ll have to swing by on your way to the racetrack.

One thing I have noticed in WV is the gas is always 30 cents higher in Va, and if you smoke, you’ll want to buy when you’re out of state as well.

No thank you. I was raised in Virginny and Mass. I moved out west many years ago, and have either been stationed in, visited or lived in Utah, Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico or Arizona. With a brief pass through Kalifornication (that’s enough). And here I’ll stay. Something genetic in me got turned on and now I’m a full-blooded desert rat.

You couldn’t get me to move any further back east then Texas.

Congratulations on finding a home!
I do not have a truck but if you need any help with moving, let me know.
