A man armed with two machetes was shot and killed at an Albertsons grocery store in Southern California on Tuesday after charging toward deputies, authorities said.The male suspect was found standing outside the store’s entrance in Lancaster with two machetes in his backpack when deputies responded to a disturbance call just before 9:30 a.m., the Los Angles County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies tried to speak with the man, but officials said he became agitated and grabbed the machetes in both hands.
The suspect went inside the store and refused deputies’ multiple commands to drop the weapons, according to the sheriff’s office.

Fatal Birmingham shooting during domestic dispute ruled justified; no charges will be filed

The predawn Monday shooting death of a 30-year-old man inside a South East Lake home has been ruled justifiable.Birmingham police announced Tuesday no charges will be filed in the slaying of Dametrice Levett Broadnax.
East Precinct officers responded just after 2:30 a.m. Monday to a 911 call of a person shot in the 8100 block of Fourth Avenue South. That location is in the South East Lake Community.
Police and medics entered the home and found Broadnax with a gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service pronounced him dead on the scene at 2:57 a.m.
Officer Truman Fitzgerald said the shooting followed a physical argument between the victim and his girlfriend.

Yes. These little swing barrel derringers by Colt fired a .41 caliber rimfire cartridge. This rimfire cartridge was the only cartridge that the Eliot double barrel derringer by Remington fired. That ammunition is now obsolete. However, Navy Arms Co. had some made about fifteen to twenty years ago in Europe. I still have several boxes of it. This ammo is somewhat anemic. But it was intended as a very short-range weapon.

A .41 caliber hole in your belly could ruin your day. I have several vests, with pockets, that would hold a pocket pistol. I prefer to use the vest’s length to conceal something a bit larger…that can make an even bigger belly button hole.
