Can’t tell the DC players without a program. In this case the better shooter recalled pressing business elsewhere after the festivities.

Boy told EMS he was shot in Harvey while breaking into vehicles, JPSO says

BY MICHELLE HUNTER
Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office investigators are trying to identify a juvenile who said he was shot while breaking into vehicles in Harvey early Friday morning.

The shooting victim, whose age was not available, was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, said Sgt. Brandon Veal, spokesperson for the department.

The sheriff’s office received a call reporting the shooting about 2:30 a.m. from the 1100 block of Aberdeen Drive, Veal said. Deputies dispatched to the area found the juvenile lying wounded on the ground in front of a residence.

The boy was not cooperative, and deputies could not get any information from him, according to Veal.

“While being transported to the hospital, the victim reported to EMS that he was shot while breaking into vehicles,” Veal said.

Video from a doorbell camera that was posted on Instagram appears to show a boy knocking on a home’s front door and asking for help after being shot. In the video, the boy is seen crying and asking for help as he calls out for his mother and grandmother.

At first I thought the trooper was out of shape until I seen her go into the water. She was just psyching herself up for what she knew was going to be a suck part of her job.

Well done trooper.

Looks like a coupla choirs are going to be short in the tenor section this morning. May the “unknown person” remain “unknown”. Little late to be calling for help from Mommy and Granny. No mention of Dear Old Dad…or Gran’Pa.

Brass Ovaries on Ms Vermont Trooper Thang.

Leading me more and more into temptation with those Henrys. Trying to decide if I want one in a .45 Colt (to go with the Peace Maker), .38 (to go with the Colt Commando), or in .410 (to compliment Mr. Mossy Maverick). Decisions…decisions?

Don’t you worry one little bit, Ms Cammie Thang. I won’t tell a soul that I see you…looking fine as all outdoors.

Saving my pennies for a Henry Golden Boy in .357. It’s like a Red Ryder for grownups.

Looks like people are taking to heart lessons from The Four Esses.
Especially the last one “Shut Up” as in “do not call or stay around to talk to the po-po”.

They should have waited awhile and hung hid dead body in a tree with a sign saying “this is what we do to thieves around here”

The Henrys are nice. We usually have an assortment, generally .22s and (for some reason, since ammo is hard to find down here) .410s, but we get the centerfire pistol lever actions and the occasional .45-70 in.

The only Henry I own to date is a US Survival (AR-7) I picked up years ago. In my opinion, the Golden Boys are nice-looking classics, the standard ones are practical and utilitarian, and the X-Models are gussied up rifles with modernized features. Lever guns have their uses, but even a tricked-out X Model with optic and light is going to pale in comparison with a modern semi-auto.

One thing I haven’t brought up is the Homesteader. That looks to be a nice pistol caliber carbine. For the price, I’ll stick to my Ruger for now, but there’s both a Henry exclusive version and one that comes with a Glock mag well for use with G17/19/etc. mags.

SFC D

I’m liking the Homesteader. Henry, can you build it in .45 ACP, using 1911 mags? I don’t own anything in 9mm, trying to manage the ammo budget.

David

The Ruger/Marlin 1894 is nice, especially when chambered in a God’s Own Caliber (starting with a .4)

We had a Glenfield Model 30 come through a while back. I thought about buying it but it sold almost as soon as it was available. Nowhere near the quality of actual Marlins, but I think it was $350 or so. Now, I’m waiting to clock back in and see if my new Mossberg .30-30 is good to go. I forgot to buy a case, though, so I’ll have to pick one up in a few hours.

Fm2176

Well, it’s not a Henry, but unless I get a Delay, my new to me Mossberg 464 will be coming home in a few hours: https://blog.cheaperthandirt.com/review-mossberg-464-spx-lever-action-rifle/ speaking of Delays, it’s funny how personal some customers take them. I get one maybe 25% of the time, and I’m the one doing third checks for every firearm leaving the building.

I was tempted to buy something, then saw that rifle on the used guns shelf. It looks a little goofy, but if I want old I have the 1892 in .38-40; if I want newer but traditional, I have the ’94 in .45 Colt; and if I just want to plink I have the Rossi Rio Bravo I bought a year ago and have even looked at since. I think those are the only lever guns I have.

My new rifle has a cheap Chinese scope mounted and comes with a $40 scabbard, so $430 out the door, with a box of .30-30 isn’t bad. I should still have some ammo lying around from my long-since stolen Winchester ’94. The .45 Colt carbine is a handy little gun, but I’ve wanted another .30-30 brush gun for over 10 years.

fm2176

No Delay, so I celebrated by buying an iProtec RM230LSG light/green laser, along with a hard case and watertight soft case. I’ll probably replace the 3-9×32 scope with a red dot of some sort, since the rifle won’t be used much past 200 meters, even if I ever take up hog hunting. Just to be funny, I may even look into suppressing it, though my PC Carbine and a few handguns have precedence once I start filing for tax stamps to get a little more peace and quiet.
