Man arrested after shootout at Sumter County truck stop, deputies say
Shots fired at Spirit Truck Stop in Lake Panasoffkee, according to sheriff’s office

SUMTER COUNTY, Fla. – A man was arrested Wednesday after a shootout at a truck stop in Sumter County, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies said they responded to a report of shots fired between two sedans around 11:43 a.m. at a Texaco, or Spirit Travel Center, in Lake Panasoffkee.

Video shows the suspect, who deputies later identified as Dequan Scott, pull into the parking lot and fire shots at another vehicle at the gas pumps. Deputies said this resulted in an exchange of gunfire with the other vehicle, which appeared to have multiple people in it.

The suspect, who got a flat tire due to the gunshots, then fled to a nearby Planned Pethood, where deputies located and arrested him, according to the sheriff’s office.

Retaliation or road rage based on the laundry list of Mr. Scott’s priors and arrest warrants. No fun at all when the victims shoot back AND call the Po-Po.

Armed Florida man confronts squatter who took over house while he was overseas: police
Ocala homeowner slept in closet in effort to catch suspected squatter

By Emma Colton
An alleged squatter was arrested in Florida after a homeowner fresh off a seven-month trip to New Zealand said he returned to his house and found it trashed and burglarized.

Authorities with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office arrested Ze’Moye Brown on Friday after the unidentified homeowner in Ocala confronted the man and fired a gun in an attempt to get the suspect to leave, according to a sheriff’s office affidavit reviewed by Fox News Digital.

The homeowner told authorities that when he returned home from his trip, he found his home in disarray and several items were missing. He reported the incident to police.

Later that same day, the homeowner slept in a closet in the home in an attempt to catch the squatter. The homeowner’s alarm went off at 8 p.m., and he saw Brown peeking into the closet where he was sleeping, according to the affidavit.

The homeowner shouted at Brown to leave the residence, and the two reportedly began arguing about who actually owns the home. According to the affidavit, the homeowner used his Beretta handgun to fire a shot at his front door in an attempt to get Brown to leave.

The encouragement to quickly depart the premises worked pretty well. Thanks, Gun Bunny.

“…fled to a nearby Planned Pethood….”
Hopefully to be spayed/neutered before he could pass his Stoopid genes to a next generation.

Dirtbag trespasser dug himself a “hole” lot of trouble. Too bad the homeowner didn’t go ahead and dig up a TSS and bury the perp in the garden in the backyard by the fence.

Dequan… *sigh* Ze’Moye… *double sigh* Claw, you’re up! I’ve been at that truckstop and the rest areas nearby. Sketchy as all hell. Lot lizards, ne’er do wells all over. Phony vets like to set up shop, peddling trinkets and “raising awareness”. Been a number of years since I made sure I stopped well before or well after that AO. Looks like it hasn’t changed much. Ze’Moye squatting in the gray bar hotel living large and rent free.

Bringing a shovel to a gunfight……is this a new entry into the three inch, three ring binder set of T2NB2AGF?
And I’m with KoB, the homeowner should have finished the job with a TSS, and then used the shovel that the now-deceased perp left behind to……fertilize the garden.

We’re gonna have to move to a 2nd 3-ring binder soon.

The shovel is for after the fight.

Well, the Whiz Wheel®™ went looking for the middle names and found a doozy. So, without further ado, the spins are:

DeQuan JAQUADE Scott (DAM/WRT) 47 x 4 = 168

Ze’Moye Brown (DAM/WRT) 36 x 4 = 144

If I find someone in my backyard with a shovel, and he ain’t burying my ex-wife, I’m gonna at least fire a warning shot.
