Donald Trump indicted over classified material handling
Donald Trump has been indicted as a criminal defendant. Trump is charged with conspiracy, illegal retention of classified government material, obstruction of justice, etc. Trump has been summoned to the Federal Courthouse for this Tuesday, 3 PM, at Miami. This is the second indictment that Trump got hit with this year, the first one coming from Alving Bragg in New York.

“The corrupt Biden Administration has informed my attorneys that I have been Indicted, seemingly over the Boxes Hoax, even though Joe Biden has 1850 Boxes at the University of Delaware, additional Boxes in Chinatown, D.C., with even more Boxes at the University of Pennsylvania, and documents strewn all over his garage floor where he parks his Corvette, and which is “secured” by only a garage door that is paper thin, and open much of the time,” Trump said on Truth Social.
Trump said he has “been summoned to appear at the Federal Courthouse in Miami on Tuesday, at 3 PM.”
This is the second time Trump has been indicted this year. Trump pleaded not guilty in April after being charged by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in the first degree.
“I never thought it possible that such a thing could happen to a former President of the United States, who received far more votes than any sitting President in the History of our Country, and is currently leading, by far, all Candidates, both Democrat and Republican, in Polls of the 2024 Presidential Election,” Trump posted. “I AM AN INNOCENT MAN!”
Trump added: “This is indeed a DARK DAY for the United States of America. We are a Country in serious and rapid Decline, but together we will Make America Great Again!”
Smith was appointed by Attorney General Merrick Garland in November 2022 to investigate Trump’s alleged improper retention of classified records at his Mar-a-Lago home.

If anyone was shocked or disappointed to hear about the DOJ or FBI meddling in the last election, you haven’t seen anything yet. There’s NO way the Deep State will allow Trump or any other conservative candidate win because if any did, they know they all stand a chance to be held accountable for their treason
When do we start prosecuting the White House security manager, you know, the guy who let all those TS-SCI documents out of the SCIF? And all the other presidents and veeps that had or currently have classified documents in their possession? Add in that Clinton broad whose handling of classified information is far more egregious than that of Trump. This is not a defense of Trump. I’m attacking the selective prosecution by our government. This! They are finding more evidence of Biden family-related corruption, something that should be investigated and prosecuted where applicable. If they’re going to let the others “off the hook” over something that the president had authority to declassify, while going after Trump, we are seeing the selective application of corrupted justice.
The people cheering this don’t realize that they are cheering something that is consistently done in authoritarian regimes such as those in Moscow and Beijing. One message that we get from this is that the authorities would turn the other direction and ignore corruption provided that those who commit the corruption “toe the line.” This nonsense will not stop post Donald Trump. Instead, a precedent is set that would eventually be applied to control the rest of us.
This is what is done in Third World countries. Those who cheer what is happening to Donald Trump are an example of why fascists and socialists were able to rise to power.

The charges against Trump are frivolous, and amount to a witch hunt. Trump had the authority to declassify documents that he took with him before he left the White House. Classified documents were found with Biden and with others, yet it is Donald Trump that is being pursued. There is evidence of Biden corruption that needs to be investigated and pursued.
Your “cheering this happening for Trump and for Biden ‘if’ the same is true for him” null your claims for cheering for justice. Included with justice is a thorough search of the facts, without bias, without favoring one side or disfavoring the other side, prior to indicting and bringing to justice. Without this element, it is not justice. It is corruption. Your argument is consistent with the latter, not with justice.
So yes, it is folks like you who demonstrate bias that contributed to the reasons why fascists and socialists rose to power.
I held a secret clearance for over two decades. The president has ultimate authority on the procedures for handling, classifying, declassify, etc., documents. Those doing work to classify or declassify are doing the work on behalf of the president. Donald Trump had authority to declassify the documents he had in possession.

Cool, I’m in. Trump’s documents were recovered August 8th and Biden’s (started on) November 2nd. So we should have an indictment by September. Sounds fair.
What Biden did was arguably much worse. Firstly he had absolutely no explanation as to why the documents spread all over kingdom come and or any valid reason for having them. Secondly, many were completely unsecure in a closet where anyone could get to them, after doing God only knows what with them.
Trump’s were under guard by the Secret Service 24/7.

I held a clearance for over 40 years. Everyone who violated what appears to have been Security rules 101 regardless of political party should be publicly exposed prosecuted and not just selected folks AND they should be permanently barred from having a clearance or filling a position that requires a clearance.
I’ve been retired for a couple months but could have my clearance reactivated in short order.
Enough of the selective prosecution.

When Biden took his documents and put them in five different locations, including his garage, he did not have any declassification authority as VP or as a senator. Only the President has statutory declassification authority.
Well, I had a top-secret security clearance, but then I didn’t have the supreme, unfettered statutory power to declassify documents, and I didn’t sign a presidential order declassifying those documents on my last day in office. Something you TDS infected clowns all ignore. The only reason, the Deep State wanted all those docs back is because they contain all the evidence implicating all the Deep State players in the conspiracy to take out Trump with the treasonous Russia Russia Hoax, which makes Watergate almost laughable by comparison.

You’re really missing my point. I’m not defending Trump. I’m attacking our politicized DOJ and it’s selective methods. Prosecutions need to start with the White House security managers and follow the document trail all the way to the maid that picked up Hillary’s fax. You know, the classified document that she removed the classification markings from. If Trump is singled out, it’s not justice. It is retribution and political abuse of the justice system.

The details aren’t gonna roll out. We’ll hear the charges, but that’s it. The judge will put a gag order on it immediately. Then it’ll just be the typical leaks from the usual suspects until this goes to trial (which won’t be televised). It will go on as long as necessary to derail his re-election bid. Expect to get more “walls are closing in” crap come RNC time, and if he wins the nom, then before the general election.
The chances of a trial before November of 2024 are slim and none.

This isn’t “breaking” but propaganda. In the introduction of the indictment, they paint a picture of Donald Trump collecting things, and placing them “along with classified material” in boxes, and implying that he took them with him “after” he seized being president. However, he moved out of the White House, and left the White House well before 12 PM on January 20, 2021, taking things that he ultimately took with him. He declassified those documents beforehand. The indictment alleges a recording from Donald Trump “admitting” to not declassifying something, yet we don’t have a full recording or transcript of that recording available. Just what has been alleged. Absent from this indictment was a thorough search of the facts. Naturally, propagandist media outlets are running with this. Fox News posted the indictment, but is not treating this as if it was “breaking”.

Yes, I’m sticking with this argument, as I’ve stuck to the other arguments that I’ve advanced online for nearly 20 years, and I intend to advance these arguments until I’m an ancient old man on his deathbed. My arguments are based on fact, reason, and logic compared to the lack of it on the opposition’s part.
I argued this on other threads, and provided links to the applicable laws/orders that authorized the president to declassify documents. I saw someone referencing here, recently, a declassification order.
Proof of that could easily be found, the fact that you could not (correction, refuse to) find these links indicate that you would rather pursue what is convenient to your argument while ignoring what is inconvenient to your argument.

This, as well as other documents that Donald Trump specifically mentioned declassifying, is what matters. The rest are “alleged” hearsay, what is claimed by what is now been proven to be corrupt government officials. All we have is what the FBI claimed they recovered. I’m sorry, but our FBI has less of a credibility than Russian media right now. Without seeing cold hard facts backing their claim, I’m going to dismiss them as nonsense.

First, we have to deal with what is actual reality. President Trump identified what he declassified, and we have an order supporting what had been declassified.
Second, previous executive orders detail how others are to handle classified material on behalf of the president. This is why these executive orders exist. The president, being in charge of national security, is also ultimately in charge of classified material. They can declassify at whim. They don’t need to leave a memorandum or order for every single document that they declassify.
This is a source reason why previous presidents have these formerly classified documents in their possession. The orders that they provide, to declassify something, are intended for actions by other people. Not necessarily for president.

When you’re rested and ready, you can educate us all on why Trump’s classified document mess warrants prosecution, while others get a pass. For me, that’s actually fairly straightforward. They aren’t prosecuting Trump for having classified documents, but for ‘willfully retaining’ them, including trying to deceive the US Government on what he had. That’s what sets him apart from others. If it weren’t for that, he wouldn’t be charged, in my opinion.
Or, put another way, ‘intent’ matters. If my brother and I both walk out of a store with a candy bar we didn’t pay for, and the cops stop us and I say, “Oh, shit, I didn’t realize I had that – let me return it and apologize”, and my brother says, “I don’t have a candy bar, despite the tape you have of me taking it, the witnesses who saw me do it, and the other witnesses whom I showed it to”, which of us is more likely to get charged?

This is what happens when Joe goes off script. We can be reasonably certain that the meat puppeteers did not write the “Beau died in Iraq” comments. That is because everyone with an IQ above 85 knows it is easily proven false. Moreover, his script writers got it right when he gave remarks at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier. But Joe thinks because Beau may have ridden past a burn pit in a Humvee, that caused his brain cancer six years later. He just says this false statement as a way to try to connect to his audience. He has engaged in such lies his entire career.
Beau died in Iraq leading the Doolittle Raid against San Juan Hill, of course.
