Wounded customer crashed car en route to hospital. Police booked him with threatening clerk.

Roderick Bennett got more than he bargained for when he pulled a gun on a clerk at a Central City retail store, judging from documents that New Orleans police filed in court.

Not only did the clerk also produce a firearm and shoot him, Bennett, in trying to drive to a hospital for treatment, crashed his car. And on Thursday, police arrested him on a charge of threatening the clerk in the first place.

They booked Bennett, 49, with aggravated assault with a gun and possession of a gun by a convicted felon.

Police said Bennett was arguing an item’s price April 11 with an employee at the Dollar General store in the 2800 block of South Claiborne Avenue.

Complaining about price at a dollar store? Mr. Bennett is not the brightest bulb in the chandelier. He’s not a customer either.

I don’t have time to distinguish between the unfortunate and the incompetent.

Seriously? 49 y.o.? And arguing about price at the Dollar Store? I think I saw the inside of my brain with this eye roll.
At that age, you’ve been lucky. Until you aren’t.
At that age, it’s probably too late to tell you to get into a more honest line of work, but miracles do happen.

To be stupid is sad.
To live in a (D)emon-rat run city is tragic.
To have to shop at Dollar General is pitiable.
To be stupid enough to argue about prices in a Dollar General store in a (D)emon-rat run shiitehole and get upset enough to pull a gun is laughable.
To get plugged in the process, wreck your car, and get the Po-po to throw the book at you must be Karma.

Some of the guys on the Brink’s pistol team were issued those S&W K-38’s to use at matches and carry while working. I didn’t go for it and bought an S&W Mod 14 6in. barrel .38 for the matches. Had a Bomar rib, front and rear target sights installed. My work wheelgun was the S&W Mod.10 4in. barrel .38.

I still morn the loss of my Model 10. Have to console myself by hugging Mr. Colt’s Commando Model.

Luv luv luv my 1968 K22. With target ammo, will stay well inside 2″ at 50yds, off bags. Even with CCI Mini-Mags, the 100yd rams are likely to go down.

I can only think the argument was over whether or not the price was in US, or Canadian Dollars.

I just love a story with a happy ending!
