DALLAS — A man is dead after an attempted carjacking ended with a shooting Wednesday at an Oak Cliff gas stationThe incident happened outside the Quick Trip on S. R. L. Thornton Freeway at Glen Oaks Crossing in Oak Cliff. Police say three suspects attempted to rob a man at gunpoint, who then shot two of them in self-defense.
“I’d seen a youngster grab another youngster and put him in the car. But his feet was still hanging out. They drove off and tried to make a turn but the door was still open,” said William Hughes, who was standing nearby when the shooting happened.

Great shooting. 1 v 3 and he scores hits on two, one a fatal. Unless the getaway killed him.

The burglar assumed unwisely. Thanks to our own Gun Bunny for today’s links.

A moooooving story.
Probably survivors of that terrible hamburgler incident.
I still got PTS and D over that one….
Once again, a knife to a gun fight.
Don’t these perps ever read the three ring, three inch, loose leaf binder, “T2NB2AGF” (vol1)?
Thou assumest ye perps can read.
Even though it’s all metal and no plastic, I doubt if Gun Bunny would like the J22.
There’s simply no pleasing You People. I even went to the trouble to find one with mother of pearl grips for him.
Zip gun.
Now now now, Tox, I can’t ever disparage something that is, not only, constructed out of metal, but also reminds me of meself…ie…compact, cute, and potentially dangerous in close quarters. There may and/or may not be a .25 caliber of a similar product that may and/or may not find itself riding comfortably in the cargo pocket of my short britches…or coming in handy as a paperweight on my desk. Nicest thing about a pocket popper is to keep the bad guys heads down while you get to a proper protective device.
Ken had no comment when GI Joe led the herd to a most excellent victory over the charms of Barbie.
I was the proud owner of their .380 model years ago. It was surprisingly accurate . After putting about 100 rounds through it the striker back stop plate started backing out of the slide. By the time I offloaded it, it was back about an 1/8″, but still fired.
Back in those days a good pocket gun was hard to find. These days they are everywhere.
There may have been, a long time ago, a Davis Industries .380 in my pocket.
I had a J22 once. I got it, a Kel-Tec P11, and a Norinco SKS in trade for my MAK-90. Later I traded the J22 and my FN-FAL for a couple of K98ks and a Finnish M28 Civil Guard rifle. Still have the Kel-Tec and think I sold or traded that SKS years ago. Now I’m down to my Yugo M59/66 and a Norinco “Paratrooper” SKS that takes AK mags. Guess I need to check on the latter…bought it a few months back and hid it in the gun room along with the 1892 and 1897 Winchesters (along with a modern Turkish-made SXP in Woodland Camo), a couple of Caniks, and some other fun toys.
My community is banding together in support of Denham Springs PD Corporal Shawn Kelly. I work about a half-mile from where he was shot a couple of days ago after responding to a report of an argument in a shopping center. The would-be cop killer was stopped by deputies a couple of miles away and they used proper escalation of force when he tried giving them the same treatment. Yeah, that guy’s pronouns are now “was/were”, but the DSPD officer is still in critical condition.
Despite being just outside of Baton Rouge, Denham Springs is fairly quiet, and I’ve considered applying for their department or the Sheriff’s Office. Unfortunately, pay and hours for the city department are not appealing. Twelve-hour shifts with every other weekend off, so by my math CPL Kelly and his fellow officers work 144 hours, get a weekend, then do it again, all while making almost $4/hr less (starting) than I make checking 4473s and ensuring our ATF Compliance is up to snuff.
