Anheuser-Busch Can’t Buy a Break

Gay Bars Ban Bud

Several Chicago gay bars announced they will no longer serve Anheuser Busch products after the brand “abandoned” support for trans personality Dylan Mulvaney. As reported by Block Club Chicago:

A slew of Chicago gay bars have stopped selling Anheuser Busch InBev products after the beer giant distanced itself from transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney’s Bud Light marketing campaign amid anti-trans backlash.

2Bears Tavern Group, which owns four gay bars from Uptown to Rogers Park, was the first to drop Anheuser-Busch InBev, posting on Instagram Thursday that its abandonment of Mulvaney amid controversy “shows how little Anheuser-Busch cares about the LGBTQIA+ community, and in particular transgender people, who have been under unrelenting attack in this country.”

Bud Light’s Dylan Mulvaney controversy deepens: Chicago gay bars roar at beer maker’s ‘abandonment’ of cause

Chicago organization 2Bears Tavern Group is no longer selling Anheuser-Busch products, including Bud Light and Busch Light

By Andrea Vacchiano FOXBusiness

Anheuser-Busch products will no longer be served at some gay bars in Chicago in light of the beer giant’s distancing from transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney.

2Bears Tavern Group, which owns four gay bars in the Windy City, called out Anheuser-Busch InBev’s “abandonment of its support” of Dylan Mulvaney on Thursday.

The organization will no longer serve Anheuser-Busch beverages at their bars, which includes Bud Light, Goose Island 312 and Busch Light.

Anheuser-Busch had partnered with Mulvaney in March, sending her a personalized pack of beer as part of an ad for March Madness and Mulvaney’s first-year anniversary of her gender transition.

The marketing move led to Anheuser-Busch losing roughly $5 billion in market value and significant boycotts from conservative drinkers.

Fox Business

The slow-motion train wreck continues unabated. Believe there’s a lesson in here, somewhere.

woke -> broke

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!

SgtM

Do not mix business and politics. Even my dumb ass knows that.

Sell beer-drinkers beer, not transgenderism.

11B-Mailclerk

If they had just said, “Beer for everyone!”

Anonymous

Beer doesn’t care about or have anything to do with gender.

MustangCPT

Yeah, I’d drink to that. I’ve had good conversations with people from coast to coast over a beer. If you focus on that, the rest really doesn’t matter.

Skivvy Stacker

I thought gay bars only served fruit juice.

Former13D

Don’t you mean “Tranny Fluid”?

Green Thumb

They should have an All-Points Logistics commemorate can with a fake Native American, fake Navy SEAL and fake LEO theme.

Special Edition.

In honor of the False Commander “Phony” Phil Monkress (CEO of All Points Logistics).

And Phildo would be prominently featured.

Turd Light.

Make “blowing a tranny” car trouble (and not “diversity” and/or a porn genre) again!

Devtun

No comment from Miller, Coors, and Yuengling.

5JC

Coors and Miller are both now owned by Molson. Although internationally, outside of North America, the Miller brand is owned by ABInbev.

11B-Mailclerk

Perhaps because they remain sane.

David

InBev owns Anheuser Busch.

The best of all this is woke going global. When the other shoe drops, and drop it will, it will be astonishing.

Deckie

Under unrelenting attack… maybe they’re talking about the pushback over them relentlessly shoving their mental illness in everyone’s faces — including children? Yeah, that sounds more like it.

The gays abandoned their own cause and gains if they choose to stand with Mulvaney.

SFC D

Lately it appears that the LGB’s are trying to distance themselves from the T’s because they’re destroying the progress they’ve made. Let them fight. Loser gets a lifetime supply of Bud Light.

So you want both sides to lose? I can grok that.

tshe

On some level, you have to feel sorry for the LGBs – they are not out front anymore as the number one victim. Ts have wrestled that Septer from them.

Odie

Cat fight? This will be fun to watch.

HT3

Again, trans are the most privileged victim class in the country today. Why would a company risk Billions, that’s with a ‘B’, of dollars’ worth of sales and alienate 60% of the beer drinking community for a group that represents a small sliver of a percent?
It makes no sense that gays are backing the trans movement. Their whole subculture has been subjugated to the trans agenda. If you’re gay or lesbian, and you’re ‘not down’ with having sex with some that is different from you biologically then you’re just a bigot.

tshe

If you are a man and prefer men sexually, how do you feel about a woman that identifies as a man?

Conversely, if you are a woman that prefers women, how do you feel about a man that identifies as a woman?

That’s got to be complicated if you try not to be labeled as phobic.

The lesson is lesson is clear – you can’t appease malcontents.

AB, just shut up and brew.

Beer companies should stick to beer.

Boys and girls, can you say Schadenfreude?

I knew you could!

LOL!

President Elect Toxic Deplorable Racist SAH Neande

Dear A/B CEO (et al),
Here is a pistol, with one boolit.
I think you know who to give it to, and they know how to use it.
In pre-gunpowder times, it was called “falling on your sword”.
It was a way to restore honor to someone (individual or group) who had done something dishonorable.
You DO know what “honor” is?

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Oh wait…you were serious?

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

No concept of honor they have– that’s from “racist” times for ’em.

No these corporate executives do have any idea about honor, they are now in how can I spin this so both sides are happy and I keep my very high paying job.

UpNorth

AB probably couldn’t give any of their beers away on any skid row re-housing area in any dem-run city in the U.S. now.

Odie

I wonder how long it will be before AB attempts to sue this woman into oblivion for lost revenue.

If she gets fired, they will be labeled some type of phobic, exactly which type TBD later or newly made up.

Popcorn please.

Hate_me

I’m more curious as to which idiot company will hire her, after this.

Odie

And just like that, due diligence is back in vogue.

tshe

[sarc] She may be able to convince folks that she’s years ahead of her time. Just wait 25-30 years and time will prove that it was a brilliant move. [/sarc]

Hate_me

I want to laugh, and I do, at this whole mess that AB made for themselves…

Then I remember that a huge amount of smaller and micro-breweries are only able to brew, bottle, and distribute their beers so well through contracts with major breweries like Anheuser-Busch…

This may devolve into the beer world’s equivalent of a sideways ship in the Suez.

President Elect Toxic Deplorable Racist SAH Neande

There are many smaller local micro breweries in Utah that don’t have anything to do with AB (as far as I know – but i could be wrong). Anyway, if I’m going to drink beer, it’d be one of these locals, not a national.

Get yourself some Polygamy Porter. Why just have one? Take some home to the wives. Awesome beer!

SFC D

They used to make St. Provo Girl, but that other beer with a similar name sued them.

https://utahbeers.com/squatters-beers/

RGR 4-78

So, can we name the all new bud light St. Foo Foo Girl?

Pretty sure it’s still largely an east/west of the Mississippi difference in which major breweries dominate… if I recall correctly, it started as a refusal of Coors to guarantee health requirements that far away…

…and explains the plot for Smokey and the Bandit.

Personally, I will not miss any of those “smaller and micro-breweries”; I want beer that tastes like beer, not some “malty with citrus overtones and hints of pumpkin” concoction from a wannabee wine commonsewer.

Hate_me

It’s not just smaller breweries (though there are some great smaller ones who don’t just make IPAs and sours). Macro-breweries often contract with each other because it’s cheaper than building and maintaining their own facilities across the country.

Old tanker

Behold the field where I grow my “F’s”, and see that it is barren.

Goes for both the new folks joining the boycott and the swill advertised as “beer” (which it is not).

Green Thumb

They are now blaming a “third party” ad agency for the problem but cannot seem to provide their name.

Roh-Dog

If All Points had an advertisement department…?

Green Thumb

Word.

RCAF-CHAIRBORNE

Sent them packing! 🙄

AB can thank their marketing VP for engaging in a lose-lose battle. “Get woke, go broke” is thrown around so often nowadays, but it’s been proven time and again. Granted, beer drinkers come from many backgrounds, but when I think of the typical American macro brew drinker I think of the hard-working blue-collar type. A close second might be college students. Most of the former want nothing to do with Mulvaney and his ilk. I’m willing to bet that many don’t really care what the adult male little girl does in his free time, but they don’t want transgenderism shoved in their face, and have rightfully (in my opinion) decided not to support a company that is either so a) misguided or b) mismanaged that it allowed a controversial “influencer” to have his face on a can. As for the college-aged kids I’d be willing to bet that more have switched to another brand than have decided to start drinking Bud Light.

MustangCPT

I get the feeling that the current batch of college kids isn’t drinking as much beer as previous generations. I think the flavored malt beverages and hard seltzers are more their speed.

The decriminalization of marijuana, the demonization of booze (usually well-intentioned), and the physical social isolation encouraged by a now-ubiquitous internet have all done a lot to reduce drinking among college kids.

They also have record low levels of sex.

As the father of a daughter in college, I’m ok with both of these outcomes.
