Potok; If you believe in the law, you’re a racist

| September 3, 2009

TSO sent me an email from the Southern Poverty Law Center which linked to this little beauty of an “Intelligence Report” from the Director of Intelligence – obviously not the kind of intelligence we’d like the SPLC to have more of – Mark Potok. See if you can tell which group is currently worthy of Potok’s alarm;

[They] are regularly harassed, taunted, and pelted with objects hurled from cars. They are frequently run off the road while riding bicycles, and many report being beaten with baseball bats and other objects. Others have been shot with BB guns or pepper-sprayed. Most will not walk alone after dark; parents often refuse to let their children play outside. A few have been the targets of arson attacks and worse.

Ya know, every single one of those thinks, except the BB gun thing and the arson thing, happened to me when I lived in Northeast DC. But Potok isn’t interested in white folks living in Black neighborhoods. No, the SOUTHERN Poverty Law Center Intelligence Director (ironic title isn’t it?) is writing about illegal immigrants in Suffolk County, NY. The email was a total joke, by the way – it had to be. I asked TSO if it didn’t come from the Onion.

The truly frightening thing about the Lucero case is that it could have happened anywhere. The high school students…weren’t members of hate groups. Instead, they were average kids who had been inundated with dehumanizing, poisonous messages about “illegal” immigrants from pundits and politicians. You know the kind of rhetoric I’m talking about. You hear it on the radio and television all the time.

Yeah, I’m probably a racist just for criticizing the SPLC for trying to protect criminals in this country. Even though my wife is a legal Latin American immigrant and my four children, of course, are of Latin heritage. But none of us have any sympathy for illegal immigrants. If someone steals your getaway car while you’re robbing a bank, do you expect the police to drop what they’re doing to find it for you?

Did you know that 10% of the entire population of El Salvador live in the DC Metro area according to the Salvadoran Embassy? Did you know that most of the violent crimes committed against them are by other Salvadorans?

Do I condone violence against illegal immigrants? Nope, not at all. What I don’t condone is the fact that Potok and his minions put the word “illegal” in parenthesis when talking about criminals who cross our borders contrary to the law – and accuse average Americans who believe in the rule of law of being racist and nativists.

Illegal immigrants is an oxymoron, and a means for the SocLib left to distract the argument of immigration control away from the real issues.

These are NOT illegal “immigrants.” Immigrants implies coming in through the front door, paperwork properly and fully filled out, with permission. Immigrant implies legality.

These scum are illegal ALIENS. With emphasis on the ILLEGAL. They snuck in the back door, without permission, no paperwork of any kind. And yet these people and their anchor children are more then glad to soak up the unearned entitlements that the SocDems are glad to give to them.

To head off the cries of RACIST that I can even now hear coming from the left, let me say that I don’t care what race, creed or color you are. Notice that my definitions of “illegal”, “legal”, “immigrant”, and “alien”, include none of the terms in the first sentence in this paragragh.

The SPLC, ACLU & all the rest of the SocLib Left cry constantly about the rights of the immigrants/aliens. Another distraction. If the newcomers are immigrants (hence, here legally), then they have all the rights granted under law to a US citizen.
If the newcomers are aliens (hence here ILLEGALLY), then the only rights they have are to be picked up by ANY police authority for processing and deporting back to their home country (or any other country that will have them). Nothing more. No entitlements. No social security money, minimal hospital care, as little as possible out of my tax-dollar-picked pocket.

Notice that the SocLib left want to constantly cry about the plight and needs of the poor, poor alien/immigrant? But the SocLib left doesn’t want to donate to the care of those poor out of their OWN pockets. No. They want to take care of these people out of YOUR pockets, through government forced taxation theft.

‘Nuff said.

Meanwhile…

Two black professors at Clark Atlanta University are rendered apoplectic over the possibility of Mary Norwood, a white woman, being elected the first white mayor of Atlanta in decades. They then pen a letter calling for a “black mayor first,” trying to rally the black community in Atlanta against Mrs. Norwood simply because they don’t want a white mayor.

But don’t worry. Those professors aren’t racist. That’s a red herring and you misunderstood their comments. The irony is that Shirley Franklin, the current mayor of Atlanta, flawed in so many ways, evidently in this matter has no problem reconciling words with their meanings.

A white woman, qualified to be mayor, elected in Atlanta? The next thing we know, a Republican will be elected Mayor of Detroit, to straighten out the cesspool that is draining the life out of my state. The dems have run that place forever, and it certainly looks like the dems have run that place forever.
