Center for Disease Control: Vax is for Kids!

COVID-19 vaccinations should be added to both the childhood and adult vax schedules for 2023, according to an advisory panel to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). The agency’s committee voted unanimously Thursday to add the coronavirus vaccine to next year’s list, which also includes shots for the flu, measles, polio, as well as mumps and rubella.

Flu, measles, polio, mumps and rubella “virus vector vaccines” have been in use effectively for decades (measels mumps and rubella gave been combined into a single MMR vaccine). Messenger ribonucleic acids (mRNA) vaxes can trigger the production of distinct protein spikes, but they are radically different from conventional vaccines.

Briefly, viral vector vaccines place a spike protein of the weakened or dead virus inside a modified version of a different, benign virus. This non-harmful virus delivers the dead virus’ DNA instructions to your cells, the viral vector, from which your body will then create on its own.

Messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccines use lab created RNA to train one’s cells to produce the spike protein, a better mouse trap. Or is it? That’s a discussion for another day.

What is in question is the CDC’s reputation after the unmitigated disaster of moving target messaging during the pandemic. Their ever-changing and contradictory guidelines from testing, quarantining, unnecessary school closures (written by the teacher’s union) and a host of other missteps exposed the agency’s inertia, bloat, mismanagement, cronyism, and lack of focus. Worse it’s a super-spreader of COVID misinformation.

To justify universal mask mandates, CDC Director Rochelle Walensky spent months citing a junk study on their efficacy in schools. She exaggerated the risks of breakthrough infections among the vaccinated and misused a study on outdoor COVID transmission. She also claimed the delta variant was as transmissible as chickenpox -not true- it turns out the agency had used data from a New York Times infographic. They also promoted a study on cloth masks using statistically insignificant data. The CDC never performed a single randomized controlled test on the efficacy of masking. In the initial vaccine rollout, the CDC told the most endangered, the elderly, that they needed to wait in line behind essential workers.

As for the vax itself, over 16,000 physicians and medical scientists around the world have publicly declared that healthy children should NOT be vaccinated for Covid.  The young have a decreased benefit from COVID-19 vaccination but are also at a greater safety risk. Many children have already had COVID and have the benefits of naturally acquired immunity.

CDC Panel Unanimously Votes in Favor of Recommending Coronavirus Vaccine to Child Immunization Schedule

A U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) panel on Thursday unanimously voted in favor of including the coronavirus vaccine on a child’s routine immunization schedule, stoking concerns among critics who fear states and localities will enforce the recommendation.

In a 15-0 vote, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices voted in favor of adding the Chinese coronavirus jab to the federal health agency’s formal list of immunization recommendations for children. It should be noted that the vaccine recommendations do not have any actual staying power, but many states and local jurisdictions have, in the past, enforced the CDC’s recommendations, as seen with universal masking throughout the Chinese coronavirus pandemic.

However, it is wholly possibly that many states and jurisdictions will take proactive measures to ensure that the CDC recommendations do not become a requirement in their communities, which critics fear could jeopardize a child’s future by preventing them from participating in activities or, at worst, attending school.

Many aspects for a parent to consider, but there is one overarching data point yet unreached. There is no long-term definitive study on the safety and effects of the vax. On anyone, much less children. With the CDC’s track record of gross incompetence and draconian State mandates that apply to the many but not the elite, MrsAW1 and my choice would not be easy but pretty simple.
