Henry Gates vs. common decency
I actually saw the story about Skip Gates and his run in with Cambridge cops the day after it happened on July 16th in the corner of some small print headlines in the Washington Post, I think. I decided at the time that it wasn’t important enough for me to address. It was a dog-bites-man story. Black man gets arrested by a cop and cries “I din’t do nuthin'”. I see it every Saturday night on ‘Cops’.
I get called a ‘racist’ at least once a week here in DC for doing abominable things like walking down the right side of the sidewalk, or walking up the escalator at the subway station. So I’m pretty used to it.
The President, unsurprisingly, calls the cops stupid for arresting a 58-year-old man who won’t act his age. More than a week after the arrest. Not examining the facts – just based purely on the superficial appearance of the incident. Black man arrested by white cop – cops stupid.
So the details get published on the front page of every paper, white cop taught other cops how to avoid racial profile. Black cop on the scene concurs with white cop. The arrest report is released on Smoking Gun. Ooops.
Press Secretary Gibbs says the media is prolonging the issue. Obama can’t quite bring himself to apologize to the Cambridge cop. Obama says Sergeant Crowley is an outstanding officer and a good man.
Darleen at Protein Wisdom writes that Gates is calling Sgt. Crowley a liar on Friday afternoon. And today, the Washington Post says that gates claims it’s time to move on;
It was a marked change in tone for Gates, who in the days following his arrest gathered up his legal team and said he was contemplating a lawsuit. He even vowed to make a documentary on his arrest to tie into a larger project about racial profiling.
In an e-mail to the Boston Globe late Friday, he said: “It is time for all of us to move on, and to assess what we can learn from this experience.”
Allahpundit writes that Gates even offered to have a beer with the police sergeant.
Yeah, Gates drove this whole incident from a tiny article in a dark corner of the Washington Post to a Presidential press conference. And now it’s time to move on? Probably because Gates looks like a race-baiting, pimping jerk the more information comes out.
I even watched Juan Williams criticize Gates on Fox News Sunday today. You know you’re wrong when Juan Williams goes after you and you’re black. The Washington Times reports;
After accepting the invitation [to the White House], the professor told the Boston Globe:
“My entire academic career had been based on improving race relations, not exacerbating them. I am hopeful that my experience will lead to greater sensitivity to issues of racial profiling in the criminal justice system. If so, then this will be a blessing for our society. It is time for all of us to move on, and to assess what we can learn from this experience.”
Yeah, talking about a cop’s mother is a well-known and accepted way to improve race-relations.

Gates seriously needs a mental health screening. He still can’t let it go, he hopes his experience leads to a greater sensitivity to racial profiling? HE wasn’t profiled, HE profiled the cop.
And he was wrong from the get-go. I certainly hope that Sergeant Crowley tells Gates and Obama that he has to change the air in his tires the day they want to sit down for a beer.
Yep, Gates, and later the White House, spent days shooting off their mouths, scattering their spittle flecked spew all over the newspapers, the airwaves, and the Internet.
They puffed their chests and strutted their stuff rubbing the face of a good public servant, his department, and all of America’s law enforcement officers in the mud in the process.
Then, a funny thing happened.
The Cambridge PD said “Guess what guys…we’ve got an audio-tape.”
Suddenly, the “pucker factor” kicked in on Ware Street in Cambridge and at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave in DC.
Suddenly, O-Bum-Looker is walking back his foot in mouth buffoonery and trying to recalibrate himself.
Suddenly, Gates wants to “move on”…
Yeah, damn right he wants to move on. That tape shows precisely, and objectively, and without a doubt what went on in that house, and in that yard that afternoon.
Gates and Obie have probably been on the phone with one another sharing an o’crap moment.
I say release the tape. Let America see what kind of friends their president rallies ’round.
Ain’t life grand when an ignorant (I don’t care if he IS Hah-vahd educated) race-baiting professah and our own Prez Obeyme both get b**h-slapped by reality and FACTS.
They’ve both more then abused their 15 minutes of fame. Time to get off the stage.

Notice that the MSM has failed to mention the 19 traffic/parking tickets that Obammy recieved from the Cambridge Police Department whilst Obammy was a young erstwhile student…plus the priceless knowledge of having the gates arrest on audio tape…heh
The plain and simple facts are, there would be NO racial component to this case without Gates. The police weren’t out pestering random black people, they talked to the ONLY person in the house where the BREAK IN was reported. That he is black and has a chip on his shoulder about it, is NOT the fault of anyone but Mr Gates.
Nothing complicated here. Gates is a black racist. Obama is likewise a black (half of him is anyway) racist. Using their own bizarro form of logic against them proves this out. But in America it is perfectly fine to be a black racist. The only form of racism not tolerated is the white kind and if you ask most brothas we all be cracker racists.
This scumbag acted like an ass, was dealt with professionally by a cop carrying out his assigned duties, and he has now been subjected to unwanted and unwelcome publicity and scrutiny. The white cop needs to tell Nobama and Gates both that they are racists and to blow their beers out their butts. He has nothing to discuss with the two of them other than why they are both assholes of the worst sort.
Obama said police had acted “stupidly”.
Speaking of “stupidly”:

……what I think we know separate and apart from this incident — is that there is a long history in this country of African-Americans and Latinos being stopped by law enforcement disproportionately, and that’s just a fact.”
You know what else is a fact, Obama? Assholes with a racial chip on their shoulders.
Facts? He don’t need no stinkin’ facts. He’s President Punchdrunk, and Gates is a pal of his.
Shouting at police officers is not unlawful, but if actual stupidity were a prosecutable offense, Gates would be charged. He should be grateful that one of his neighbors was concerned enough to call the police for what they thought was a break in. The loud mouthed radical wouldn’t come out of the house, and he refused to show identification. For all Crowley knew, he could have been confronting a hostile burglar, but since Gates decided to jump to the old standby “racist” accusation, there was no way of telling.
Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson will be on hand to make their requisite soapbax comments in 3….2….1…..

I don’t know if y’all allow hyperlinking to news stories, but I thought this would be relevant. They released the audio tapes. The caller didn’t even mention race. When prodded by the 911 dispatcher for one, she said, “One of them looked Hispanic, maybe.”
Gates brought race into this by overreacting. You can’t hear what he’s saying, but you can hear him shouting as the officer radios to dispatch that Gates is being uncooperative. When Crowley meets with Gates for that beer, he should tell Gates to apologize or go fuck himself.

CRaissi, Crowley should demand two apologies before any thought is given to “a beer”. One from the racist who started all of this, and one from the racist who commented without knowing all the facts.
