Man claims self-defense in north Phoenix homicide: police

PHOENIX – Police are investigating a shooting that left a 49-year-old man dead Saturday night in north Phoenix.Phoenix Police say they received a call of a man who had been shot in the chest at around 6 p.m. near 39th and Grovers Avenues.
Once at the scene, officers found 49-year-old David Standley, who had been shot. Standley was taken to a hospital where he later died.
“An adult male was detained on scene and was interviewed by detectives, ultimately making a claim of self-defense,” Sgt. Vincent Cole said in a statement on May 29.

Phoenix police detail what happened before armed man fatally shot by officers

Phoenix police have released more details about an officer involved shooting that left a 52-year-old man dead in a north Phoenix neighborhood Sunday night.Officers arrived at 24th and Cactus Road shortly before 7 p.m. in response to a report of a domestic dispute. While on the way, police learned that a man involved in the dispute was armed and had fired a weapon several times inside and outside of the residence.
Upon arrival, officers found the man armed and standing outside of the Phoenix home, waiving his weapon in the air. Officials said police told him to drop the firearm. The man reportedly refused, eventually pointing his weapon at officers and prompting them to open fire.

First, make sure yours is the only story told to the po-po. “Claims self defense”. Who’s gonna contradict him?
Second, when the cops say “put down the gun”, then put down the damned gun. That is, if ya wanna continue to breathe through your original oxygen orifice and not through additional bodily drill holes.
Seems as if the air in Phoenix is a tad clearer today since the removal of two (2) oxygen stealing dirtbags. “I was in fear for my life, I will make a statement when my lawer gets here.” Mama taught us to follow instructions at a young age. Maybe that’s why I’m still here.
