More Navy UFO talk
Another day, another report of Navy UFO activity. This one from nearly 20 years ago. On a ship of more than 5,000 people, five are telling a website called “The Debrief” about a 2004 encounter with a strange orb that was definitely not the setting sun off the flight deck of The Gipper’s namesake vessel. Of course, all the records of this happening were deleted, and in the last 18 years none of the other 5,000 people have talked about it. None of the officers aboard ship at the time thought it was concerning either, allegedly. Now I know little of Navy procedure, but I’d imagine any giant floating orb that appears above a carrier’s flight deck will result in a general quarters alarm and a lot of busy people.
From The Debrief;
Several U.S. Navy personnel who served aboard the USS Ronald Reagan (CVN-76) say they encountered a mysterious, orb-shaped flying object in 2004 while on duty off the eastern coast of the United States. Nearly two decades later, the incident still defies explanation.
Witnesses who were on the nuclear-powered Nimitz-class supercarrier the night of the incident describe seeing a 20 to 40-foot wide luminous round object, which suddenly appeared and began to hover over the ship’s flight deck.
Adding to the strangeness of the event, sailors who witnessed this say their Naval commanders seemed disinterested that a large, glowing orb was reported flying over the ship, and continued normal operations without ordering any defensive actions to be taken.
Now, The Debrief has spoken with nearly a dozen witnesses to the 2004 incident, allowing documentation of this remarkable observation of unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) by multiple U.S. Navy servicemen to finally be brought to light.
…
Karol Olesiak was a 3rd class petty officer and Quartermaster on the Ronald Reagan at the time of the incident. His job involved navigation of the ship, working from the main bridge at the navigation table. He was also responsible for the USS Reagan’s official ship logbook during the encounter.
On the day of the UAP event, Karol was Quartermaster of the Watch (QMOW) during the 8:00 PM-12:00 AM time frame. This duty required him to report to the main bridge navigation table and involved coordination of the maneuvering of the vessel.
Olesiak told The Debrief that when he arrived to relieve the previous watch that evening, the outgoing Quartermaster of the Watch indicated something was already going on at that time, though the individual offered no additional information. However, it soon became apparent to Olesiak that something was happening outside above the flight deck.
“I’m pretty sure ‘it’ was there,” Olesiak said. “And they were like, ‘I don’t know what that is. I don’t care.’ You know what I mean? Like they had an attitude like ‘I’m going to my rack. I don’t care. … don’t even bother me about this shit’… So this ‘thing’ is there, the entirety of my watch and because the officers are ignoring it, I’m forced to ignore it.”
Olesiak emphasized that everyone was working 16-hour shifts and unless an issue was life-threatening most problems were prioritized. He stated that his prior training in boot camp indoctrinated him to not question orders. The officer of the watch continued normal bridge operations, he said. Olesiak said he saw a large round and orange-colored glowing object with a fiery surface hovering about 100 feet above the flight deck. He said he viewed this object directly through the windows on the bridge at eye level. Olesiak says the surface of the object reminded him of biblical descriptions of the “burning bush”.
“In the Eastern Orthodox church, they explain the burning Bush as unburnt energy,” Olesiak mused. “When you see it, you are entranced by the novelty of it. You’ve never seen it before. Right? You’ve never seen negative energy… but it’s there. You don’t know what it is, the experience of seeing something you haven’t seen before.”
Yes, totally normal. There’s a goddamn UFO hovering over a US Navy carrier and all the officers and men aren’t freaking the fuck out. Because a bridge full of 20-somethings that grew up watching Independence Day and Men in Black wouldn’t be the least bit intrigued by all this. They just keep launching planes. Gotta get the punch list on the shakedown cruise done first before we talk about the burning bush hovering above our latest nuclear powered warship.

The Burning Bush. Wasn’t that what they called that one girl who worked at a less reputable establishment on Magsaysay?
Hack scores the win again today!
Well played!
“he viewed this object directly through the windows on the bridge at eye level”
I would have at least gotten a tail number or hailed them on
triple one seven five. Did he wave?
How many were spotted years ago but not put in the log book due to fear of the skipper losing his command. Chris Columbus has one coming out of the water in his log book.
It was probably just the result of cross polarization, with electromagnetic interference, igniting the released waste gases: A contained plasma, with lateral and rotational stability!
Very common for officers to see….
I’m supprised that the experts didn’t say that it was the beam of light from the Montauk Point light thouse or the same beam they said was responsible for the English forrest US AF Base back in the 1980’s where the beam of light had markings on it and one of the AF Members touched the beam which felt solid and finally made its way across the Atlantic Ocean. Electromagnetic interference can be duplicated using the infamous series 6 newton ring which razzle dazzles the contained plazma igniting the waste gases causing a rapid speed of concentrated energies that make Rice Crispies go snap crackle and pop.
Army had some strange shit going on at Ft Monmouth back in
the sixties. Lots of polarized electromagnetic rotating stuff.
They even had a Mars station. Wilted Willie would know.
Sooo, do we now think we know what cooked the “Goose”? Or do we have to wait for the premire of “That Movie” part dos? Mick, you got our tickets yet?
Maybe it was some Mavercik doing a burnout @ 100 feet ADL, in a Harrier? I understand that Big Navy will turn a blind eye to what goes in the fan room, while under way or not at the pier, but did they tell the Sailors to put any reports of what they saw…or didn’t see, on ice, man?
Still hate you.
Illegal Space Aliens is a racist statement. They are Undocumented Intergalaxy Refugees, only coming here for a better life. Of course, to accomplish that, they will need to conquer and enslave our planet, but what the hell, diversity is our strength.
As long as the Undocumented Intergalactic Refugees don’t bring the book, “To Serve Man.”
Did Reagan pass through a time warp and pop out in DEC 1941, and do what Nimitz couldn’t get done in The Final Countdown? I was always both intrigued by, and let down by, that movie.
I think I’m more likely to call BS on the 16 hour shift for the QMOW on an aircraft carrier.
Me personally I don’t believe in this shit
my cousin on the other hand who’s in the navy
has told me they have definitely had some odd encounters
in a area southwest of there home port of San Diego
that he can’t explain
it’s been going on for years too
No doubt something is happening but as to what who knows. In the case of this story I don’t buy the case that the officers responsible for a multi billion dollar ship and 5000 lives would be like, oh yeah the glowing orb don’t worry about it. Nope.
And he definitely won’t go into specifics about that odd encounter he had while on Liberty in Pattaya.
Why is always the Navy or Air Force?
Gotta be some Spec 4 encounters out there.
And you can bet they are Signal.
Hack Stone remembers 40 years ago when some MCCES weak sauce student was trying for a psychiatric discharge by writing in the firewatch logbook that a UFO picked him up from the MCCES grinder.
See something, say something.
Something about that article smacks of someone telling a story. The stated response of the officers is more like that sci-fi movie with the pod people were the people taken over by the pods pretend not to notice what’s going on. Color me my favorite color, skeptical.
I had a few of my fellow QM’s from my NAV department off my ship go with the RR around the horn from Norfolk to San Diego for their homeport move at North Island NAS in 2004 when this supposedly took place. I spent a lot of time with them over the next two years, and none of them ever mentioned a word of this stuff to me.
I’m catching a whiff of bullshit here.
There’s no way that 5000 Sailors are going to stay silent about ANYTHING for 20+ years.
Not a chance.
Yeah, a quick check on the firsthand source via Master Chief Google brings this up:
“ Karol Olesiak is a poet, writer, and activist. He is a graduate of Eugene Lang Liberal Arts College at The New School and an MFA student at The University of San Francisco.
As a Navy sailor, he commissioned the USS Ronald Reagan, navigated the straits of Magellan, and served in the Persian Gulf. In 2011 Karol headlined The Bowery Poetry Club in New York. That same year he became a staunch supporter of The Occupy Wall Street Movement and became entrenched in the Occupy network of affinity groups.
Karol founded http://www.soldiersforthecause.org and became an antiwar activist. He has written many political essays and has been translated into Spanish. Karol’s poetry has been incorporated into cinematography and sound art.”

The BS smells strong with this one.
Jesse MacBeth can substantiate his claims.
As can The False Commander “Phony” Phil Monkress )CEO of All-Points Logistics).
