Irony, thy name is Russia

| April 2, 2022

Looks like the Ukrainians are sick of blowing up Russian shit in Ukraine and have started to do it over the border in Russia. A large oil depot in Belgorod (about 50 miles from the Ukraine border) is said to have been attacked by Ukrainian helicopter gunships. Massive fires are burning, or may have been put out by the time you read this.

In response to this, Russia has some stern but hilarious words for those whose country they’re currently invading with tanks, shooting missiles into, and dropping cluster bombs on. The Kremlin spokesman said that Ukraine has escalated the conflict with this attack and that it is unlikely to result in negotiations. Yes, the people who invaded Ukraine are saying that the people they attacked at home are escalating the conflict by fighting back.

The Ukrainians have (at least officially) denied responsibility for the attack.

Breitbart has the story.

Is this what Russian air supremacy is about?

Zelinsky went with the “neither confirm nor deny” route. They sure looked like Ukrainian helicopters. Russia is pulling troops out of Georgia now to prop up the failed invasion.

It would be both hilarious and terrifying if the republics that Russia installed puppet dictatorships in had their governments fall due to this massive miscalculation.

To put it in perspective NATO estimates that Russia may have already had up to 15,000 of it’s soldiers killed and up to another 35,000 WIA, MIA or CIA. This is more lost than in the entire War in Afghanistan 1979-89. They likely have already lost a similar number of armored vehicles and air craft in the same time span. That conflict as we know played a significant role in the collapse of the Soviet Union.

BUTTTTTT, Georgian and Chechen civilians are showing up in Ukraine just to fight with/shoot the Russians.

Who are we to get in the way of their fun?

First thing I thought of when seeing the photo was the time
they rocketed the DaNang tank farm in 1970.
Burned for a week.

Strangely I was thinking the tank farm in Fallujah in 2010. That sucker lit up the sky when it burned.

My first thought was the acres of fuel bladders on Balad and why the locals never could seem to hit it, even with the daily mortaring. Overshot every time. A platoon of Boy Scouts could’ve done better.

We did refit trips to Balad, there were times when those popped into action.

I worked right next to the C-RAM, it works great. But more often than not, mortars passed harmlessly overhead and overshot.

When I was in Da Nang in 1971, during about six months, the Da Nang AFB was rocketed about three times. The rockets rarely hit anything of import. One person was killed in a building that was hit and a few aircraft suffered minor damage. The ChiCom and Russian 122 mm rockets were notoriously inaccurate. They were launched with a timing mechanism and the launch ramp was commonly supported with bamboo.

DaNang had a radar system that would detect incoming
and ramp up a very loud siren. The rnds would impact just
as the siren spooled up giving a second or two of warning.
I recall seeing a website that listed all of the dates and
number of rnds for each year.

I heard that the 2 brass who ordered the airstrike were taken off their posts because they did it on their own. I think I got this right, and did anyone out there here the same thing???

There you have it. Our new mode of operation on display.  Don’t do ANYTHING, because the Russians have nuclear weapons!  Go ahead, Putin. Do whatever you want.  Invade countries, make threats, etc.  We won’t do anything.  We’re scared!  We’ll mind our own business and not do anything to piss you off too much, so please just leave us alone!

The press lately seems to be itching for some “Nuclear combat toe to toe with the Ruskies”

I don”t want the US in war with Russia – period. After doing my homework, I’ve come to believe if you support Zelensky you support the globalists and Nazis (the Azovs). If you support Putin, you support the communists. There is no reason to support either side. That said…

Good on Ukraine for the oilfield attack. However, to say this occurred due to Russian incompetence is absurd. I’m seeing on this web site a large percentage of folks pushing the “Russia incompetent” meme. I would expect a little better tactical and strategic analysis from a group of mostly veterans.

To emphasize the point above and using the 40 km long, nuts to butts, sitting on an open road for a week video of Russian tanks that was declared to be Russian incompetence for running out of gas, who the heck would believe that to be true? If Ukraine had any kind of air force, their fighter pilots would have salivated at the chance to attack. A week! Yet no attack occurred. This blatantly obvious analysis would conclude that Russia had cleared and owned the skies. Not exactly incompetence. Even a lowly corpsman like me can make this analysis.

It won’t happen. At least not while there is air in these lungs. Muck the Warfongers.

There is no reason to support either side [‘Russia’ v ‘Ukraine’].

Absolutely.

Bring the hat, hatters.

I honestly wonder if it wasn’t done by a Russian Helicopter with Ukrainian decals painted on it specifically for a False Flag Operation?

How ya gonna spoof the ADS-B, s-mode or most importantly
the IFF? You just shut everything off and grab your balls!
I’m surprised we don’t see a lot of friendly fire news.
Especially ground forces. Paint a white Z on everything?
