Shot after coming at officer with knife, investigators say Kansas man cuts his own throat
AUGUSTA (KSNT) – An officer-involved shooting Friday in Augusta ended with a man cutting his own throat and going to the hospital in serious condition, according to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.
A lone Augusta Police Department officer went to a Phillips 66 gas station in the town to investigate an open-line 911 call. No one spoke on the phone, but they also did not hang up. The KBI said the officer found the caller, who told them a man inside the gas station’s convenience store, 49-year-old Barrye W. Lightner Jr., had felony warrants for his arrest.

Police in Wisconsin fatally wounded a man who shot and critically injured an officer during a traffic stop early Sunday morning, officials announced.Greenfield police officers were conducting a traffic stop shortly after 1:35 a.m. near South 35th Street and West Oklahoma Avenue, where the driver briefly stopped before speeding away and crashing several blocks away, the police department said in a press release.
After crashing, the driver got out of the vehicle and “began shooting at officers,” including a 36-year-old who was struck multiple times, officials said.

Anybody bought a new gas can lately? Had to get 2 of them myself. Threw the cap/nozzle that came with them away and paid for the “not approved for domestic use” replacement cap/nozzle. We should of known it was getting ridiculous when dry cleaning bags were labeled “This bag is not a toy”.
The one thing that citizens never understand is that the Police are a reactionary force. It is not they who decide when a situation goes to lethal force, it is the suspect who makes that decision. The Police just react to what is presented to them.
Having done literally thousands of traffic stops I fully understood that if the driver or passenger, if there is any, is very likely to get the first shot or multiple should they decide to go hostile. You can’t walk up gun drawn on any traffic stop absent knowledge of a felony situation. Even then you have the driver exit while you are in a position of cover. This war on Cops that obozo started has a significant body count. To me that is the legacy of his administration along with the resurrection of race conflicts.
