It’s time once again, Delta Whiskies and Whiskettes, for Boomer’s Sunday, where I cull through his weekly offering of ‘toons, and pick the best. These are mostly from the right, with humor scattered around. I am more than willing to post up differing points of view if they don’t annoy me. Now what could be fairer than that? “Superstorm Sandy” was MAYBE a Cat 1 Hurricane and everyone up there shit their pants over it. They say that this next one will hit the Hamptons, OH those pooooor multibillionaires up there…
It don’t take much up here, large trees, saturated ground, over burdened power poles, and general lack of maintenance on all the above.
Sandy was rough (I was stationed in Bergen County NJ at the time and rode it out in Cross River NY), it was 3 days w/o power in S. NY, but 2.5 weeks in Bergen County. NJ swamp land don’t do water too good. The news reports and first hand witnessing of fist fights in the gas lines made living in NJ bearable for a hot sec!
My heart weeps for those well manicured lawns and cedar clad beach shacks in the Hamptons, truly and deeply. I just hope Barry and his husband will be ok on the Vineyard! Al Gore tried to warn us… /MOABsized sarc

The storm is breaking apart as it hits land per usual, but now she’s taking a left turn and we’re gonna get the brunt. No sense on crying about it, I gots insurance anywho.
Still have power, knock on wood. Did a PMCS on the generator so we have options.

To be fair to y’all, modern cars run a crap ton cooler than the oldies so, many people haven’t seen a car overheat to the extent where it blows the pressure/fill cap.
But still…
VWs had an air cooled rear engine.
Some were technically oil-cooled, ’71-and up Standards, (all?) Supers, Ghias, and other configs.
I wish those things were still made. Motorcycle with 4 wheels and a weather bubble that mostly keeps the elements out (if you have a good one!)
