Good Samaritans rush to help officer being attacked in Walmart parking lot
Fredericksburg police report three significant assaults on officers over three months

Police are crediting a pair of Good Samaritans for saving a Virginia officer from being more severely beaten during an assault.“If the two individuals watching nearby had not selflessly taken it upon themselves to assist the officer, the injuries he sustained could have been much worse,” said Fredericksburg Police Chief Brian Layton. “I can’t thank them enough for bravely putting themselves in danger.”
The incident unfolded Wednesday on a Walmart parking lot in Fredericksburg when police were called to respond to a suspicious person rifling through another person’s car.
The responding officer found stolen goods in the man’s possession and tried to detain him, according to city police spokeswoman Sarah Morris. The man, identified as 31-year-old Joshua J. Duggins, reportedly began walking away from the officer before he turned around and punched the officer.

An incredibly brave little Yorkie defended its owner, a 10-year-old girl, from a coyote that attacked the pair while out for a neighborhood walk in Toronto this week.The Yorkshire terrier, who the family rescued six years ago, suffered “extremely serious tissue injuries to her spine and her leg,” Dorothy Kwan, 10-year-old Lily Kwan’s mother, wrote on a crowdfunding page to raise money for the veterinarian bills.
“You can see our dog putting herself between my daughter and the coyote,” Dorothy Kwan wrote. “Even after she was seriously injured, she continued to bark and chase the coyote away. She fought back.”

Dash cam starts with Policeman pulling up to a four way stop, after the car in front of him turns left, the car to the right doesn’t even bother to stop and rolls through…cue lights. Car proceeds into a neighborhood and pulls in to a drive way. The Officer parks half in street. Officer walks to car and asks for license and registration, Driver responds by complaining about being harassed and gets out of the car. Officer tells him to please get back in the car or he will have to charge him with additional charges…then the passenger gets out (off camera), the Officer tells them to get back in. Then the Driver starts talking about knocking the Officer out for touching his sister…everyone starts running (one with her phone, filming likely). You hear radio calls over the dash cam. When other Officers show up, the original Officer is down the block with the two women (passengers) sitting on him, and hitting and choking him. The Driver is later also apprehended and all go to jail. Spend several months in jail, as they don’t post bail. At trial they are convicted of battery on an officer, attempted murder (Officer blacked out), assault, evading arrest. What would they have gotten if they stayed in the car… a $50 ticket for failure to stop, if they did not fight it in court to be reduced (which would have cost more)!!!
The Judge told them this when he sentenced them (by the way that would have just been the Driver, not the passengers who got the attempted murder sentence).
