Black billionaire wants the government to pay reparations
Considering that the Democratic Party pushed to keep the institution of slavery, perhaps we’ve found who should be paying these reparations. (Drink Diamond and Silk/The Donald Win)
Robert L. Johnson, billionaire, presented an argument that included the idea that Blacks get paid $14 billion in reparations. He owns multiple homes, leads an asset management organization, and is a media magnet. He doesn’t anticipate getting a reparation check; however, he believes that reparations are already being paid piecemeal.

The new “reparations” is critical race theory education, it’s the housing grant program in Evanston, Illinois, it’s the $5 billion of targeted support and debt relief for Black farmers, and it’s the $50 billion in corporate pledges in the wake of George Floyd’s murder dedicated to combating systemic racism and inequality. (Even though just $250 million, or 0.5%, has actually materialized so far.)
“That’s what’s happening to the reparations–it’s been cut up into small pieces of things that look and feel like, ‘We want to end systemic racism, we want to end police brutality and shootings and to provide financing to Black small business owners,'” Johnson tells VICE News.
“And then people can say, ‘Well, we really don’t need reparations because when you put all of these things together, it’s reparations. It’s just not one big bill or asking this country to stand up and apologize, and you’re not asking people to pay out of their paychecks.”
But that’s the problem, Johnson says. He calls the current approach “placebo paternalism.”
“Reparations had two components: The first was atonement, and the other was monetary,” he adds. “With no doubt whatsoever, it was supposed to come from the government representing the people of the country. It was reimbursement, or recompense if you will, for the harm.”
Reparations, as used in the past, were payments meant to help “repair” the damage done by the side paying the reparation. What “damage” has 19th Century slavery done for 21st Century Blacks?

I have a better idea: since the bulk of slave trafficking started with Arabs attacking villages and selling the occupants to the slave trade, why not make that demand of the Saudis?
They can afford it, y’know, and they’ll have to reinstate their “normal” oil load, which they slowed down a short while ago, and really address who started that crap in the first place.
It did, after all, originate in the settled lands around the Mediterranean, and in what used to be Persia (now Iran, Iraq, etc.), so they should foot the bill.
Ex-PH2, while I am not a true student of history, I will disagree with your statement! While the Arabs, Egyptians, and Persians did take slaves…as did most of the Central and South American empires (read Aztecs), and Asians (Mongols, Chinese, and Japanese) few of them actually exported their slaves. Meaning they did not make a business of it, they simply forced their conquests to work for them and build their empire. It was the west and Central Africans that originated the idea of making a business of it. Though it likely was successful only because of the Europeans (Spanish, French, British, and Portuguese) and their transportation services that made it successful. The triangle of Raw goods from the Americas, Manufactured goods from Europe, and Slaves from Africa was quite lucrative.
America did not start or perpetuate the slave trade, but it was a recipient of it! The Europeans and Africans prospered and indulged it! When Americans were finally in charge of America we over threw it and showed the world why it needed to end. If they want reparations they need to go to Europe and Africa (where it is still practiced).

The issue of ‘repair’ can only happen via organic strengthening in family-units of our black and brown Brothers and Sisters. As true morality is taught at home, church, and with generational successes.(All of which have been subverted by big gov and big bidness!)
Damn the race hustlers, damn them straight to hell. If the gov gets involved to mandate and distribute these ‘justice payments’ diminished returns of that investment is guaranteed. No one wants this situation resolved more than I, but as an outsider and an individual, all I can do is chip at the edge, sew the message of peace, and distribute my hard earned assets for labor well-done.
The free market can and will fix these problems by God! But those under the heel of these devils MUST extricate themselves from underneath so to lift their gaze toward the Jewel of Liberty!

Anything else you think you are owed, collect it from the African Tribal Leaders that sold you to the A Rabs. A simple DNA test will indicate what region of Africa you came from, and a study of History from that region will narrow down the dominant tribe that sold you.

Is there anyone still alive that was held as a slave in the USA? if no, then we don’t owe a shit-eating cent. IMHO many Americans have HELD THEMDELVES in slavery to welfare and other handouts for multiple generations.
A few thoughts on this.
Basic tort law requires that to recover damages, one must be able to demonstrate harm or damage TO THEM. Your great great grandpappy being a slave and having a rough life cannot justify your receiving benefit for it. It had nothing to do with you.
A good many blacks insist the Civil War was all about them. It was not. But since they continue to run with that fantasy, no problem.
All blacks who are American citizens residing in this country will be ordered to pay their fair share of all costs of the Civil War, as adjusted to 2021 dollars. They were allegedly the sole and direct beneficiaries of the results of the war, so they can pay for its costs. Anyone coming up short will have all property confiscated as partial compensation to the state for the war’s costs.
Of note, every country in Africa that I had the misfortune of being sent to, had one thing in common: The local inhabitants absolutely HATED American blacks. Because the American blacks had it so much better than they did. Only Kenya was relatively squared away and civilized.

Don’t be stingy, give each black in the country 14 trillion. At this point what difference does it make? We are so far in debt and flooded with no value money that it is only a matter of time before it all comes crashing down. Here’s an idea I could get behind. Determine the average length of time a slave was held back them. Multiply that by the prevailing wage of the time. Give that amount to any black person wanting to claim slave ancestry…
WITH the caveat that the reparations include a one way ticket to Liberia (founded by freed slaves), loss of their American citizenship, and a ban on them EVER returning to the United States..
In just a few years, I think that program would pay for itself, considering that most who would take advantage of it are just drains on society anyway.
I’m guessing they probably wouldn’t want to use the crap salary my Irish-immigrant, 1st-, and 2nd-gen-American ancestors dug coal for in those days as a baseline for such calculations, even if you don’t factor in company store debts.
Actually, Liberia was not founded by freed slaves. Several boatloads of American blacks went there, got off the boat, and promptly set about enslaving and subjugating the local native blacks. And the place has been the epitome of a fourth world shithole ever since.

Also, the FIRST to practice slavery on American soil (or what it would become), were the Native Americans. They captured opponents, used them as slaves until they died. Lather, rinse, repeat. Notice that not only does he walk, he cannot be recharged. Not sure if they are calling it ‘with prejudice’ but sure sounds like it in effect.
Yeah, it appears that the court agreed that the settlement she previously agreed to, and the sealed agreement that while he was not admitting guilt he could not be charged in the future with this crime was enough of an agreement between both parties to mean…you got your justice. Guess he quit doing it in time. He got a taste of prison, and will live out his comfortable life in exile.
Reparations were paid between April 12, 1861 and April 9, 1865 when 350,000 Union Soldiers died freeing the slaves.
“Reparations” have also been steadily paid since the beginning of LBJ’s “Great Society” which waged war on Black Americans as well as Poor Whites as well which has enslaved multiple generations to welfare and other handouts.
