Lawmakers call on Biden to make COVID vaccines mandatory for the military
Reportedly, about a third of of military service members are refusing to take the coronavirus vaccine. And as it stands, by Federal law they cannot be coerced into doing so. The vaccine(s) are approved under “emergency use authorizations,” meaning the drugs are technically still experimental. Full approval could take years. Heh.
Lawmakers call on Biden to make COVID vaccines mandatory for the military

A group of lawmakers is calling on President Joe Biden to make the COVID vaccines mandatory for all military members.
Calling unvaccinated troops “a critical threat to our national security and public health,” U.S. Rep. Jimmy Panetta, D-Calif., sent a letter to the White House Wednesday urging Biden to issue a “waiver of informed consent” that would force troops, if ordered, to get the vaccines as soon as they were eligible.
“Vaccinating every eligible servicemember will improve readiness and have an immediate and positive impact on the communities in which they serve,” Panetta wrote. “Requiring DOD to obtain informed consent prior to vaccination is not only harmful to our national security, but contrary to the best interests of servicemembers, their families, communities and colleagues.”
The letter, co-signed by six other congressional Democrats, cites testimony by military officials last month that roughly a third of servicemembers had thus far declined the COVID-19 vaccines.
A December report from the nonprofit advocacy group Blue Star Families found that just 40 percent of active-duty troops planned to get the vaccine, while 49 percent planned to decline it and 11 percent were undecided.
There’s a very goddam good reason for the Federal law. Anyone recall the late ’90s Anthrax vaccine debacle? Read the entire article here: Navy Times

Yeah, no.
They are not Guinea Pigs, you assholes. Not slaves, either.
Signal virtue with your own flesh, not that of others.
Rainbow Six, Horizon Corp! Any questions?
Notice it seems to be all demonrats that are pushing the shot? Hmmmm
So close to retirement.
Be all you can be, Chief. Be a civilian.
If there was every a reason to say, “Im so glad im fucking retired.” This, THIS is the reason.
Isn’t this the same side of the aisle that’s always talking about not making COVID political? Here they are, making it political. Again.
If a social democrat’s mouth is open, they are lying. That is how you tell.
Meanwhile,
For veterans not enrolled with VA who want it and can’t get it,
this is a near future shift to MORE getting them at the local VA.
More, it will have local hospitals and health providers telling veterans
to go see the VA.
It’s not immediate, but based on supply and local VA capacity.
[WASHINGTON — The Department of Veterans Affairs
must offer coronavirus vaccines to 24 million more people after President Joe Biden signed a bill into law Wednesday requiring the agency to vaccinate all veterans and spouses.]

IMHO, this will shift burden onto VA hospitals,
that so far have been organized and handling this well.
The downside will be forcing many veterans
(and their spouses and caretakers)
into a long(er)drive to go get their shot(s),
when the downtown county hospital says
“You’re a veteran, you go the the VA”,
and the nearest VA is 90 miles.
If there’s a way to have unsterilized needles, contamination of anything or waste of vaccine, the VA will find it.
Sorry, off topic. This strange story of Hunter Biden’s lost gun popped up on FNC & Newsmax. Reportedly in late 2018, Biden responded ‘no’ on his Firearm Transaction Record pertaining to the use of controlled substances.

Ooh, that’s a big no-no with BATF, a felony in fact. Ol’ Poe knows because after my doc got me a marijuana card for my intractable shoulder pain, I learned that even though medical marijuana is legal in Arkansas when you have the card, the feds don’t recognize your legal status.
If you state honestly on the federal form for firearms purchase that you are a legal user, you ain’t gonna get your gun, bubba. Worse, if you lie, you are subject to federal felony charges, so that in the eyes of BATF if you possess a medically necessitated marijuana card and own firearms, you are potentially a felon.
Thankfully, I don’t need to purchase more firearms, but just to be safe, on the advice of an attorney who’s a state legislator, I drew up an affidavit transferring ownership of all my weaponry to Miz Poe. Whether it will withstand a legal challenge, I have no idea but it doesn’t hurt to have it.
If Hunter Biden were an ordinary citizen, he’d be in deep doo-doo right now.
I see Hunter’s a casual racist like his old man.
And this is definitely not a normal reaction:
Laws don’t apply to Democrats or their druggie kids…
Devtun,
Check email.
Ghosts of the past continue to resurface. Get out of here with your attempts to dredge up the Tuskegee Experiments you ghouls.
For those who are waiting, here’s a reason to get the shot(s) from the Washington Post:
“This week, Krispy Kreme announced a tasty incentive to get a coronavirus vaccination, promising one free glazed doughnut per day to any customer who could show proof they had done so.”
Wifey had all our vaccine cards laminated. I will have to test our local Krispy Kreme tomorrow after walking the dog.
So…in a country where 42% of Americans are obese (per the CDC) and almost 70% of COVID deaths were attributed to patients also being overweight/obese….Krispy Kreme wants to give out DONUTS. There’s a joke in here, but im just too tired to dig for it.
“I think it’s amazing and wonderful that, in just one year, science has developed a vaccine that gives us free Krispy Kreme donuts.”
My boy has been quarantined in Rota for the last few days due to his roomy testing positive for the Kung Flu. I talked to him this morning, and he now officially has COVID. Feels fine, though – He’s just bored and mad that his Sir reamed him out for not getting vaccinated before they deployed.
Bored is how my daughter and granddaughter felt while waiting for the Wuhan Flu to pass.
Bored is not bad, tho’
My PCM and the VA both are pretty sure my whole FAMILY had the RONA last Feb, before it became famous. I was down for 2 days, spitting up oatmeal and then bounced back fine. Maybe, just MAYBE being in a good physical shape BEFORE had something to do with being so resilient.
Bend over, you cretins! We know what is best for you, for everyone! Submit, you inferior knuckle-dragging morons!
(Oh, and while you’re bent over, ignore the probe.)
Damn tyrants.
Anthrax.
Did that one too.
Did HALF of it….they kind of forgot about giving me the rest of it. Go figure
Smallpox, in boot camp. I have two smallpox scars now. Then, after many years, I sent an e-mail to CDC about it and they said “immunity fades within 5 years for the fist one and 8 to 10 years for the second one.” I felt SO much better, knowing that.
In my reserve unit we were all ordered to get the Anthrax shot. One guy who refused the shot, left our Psyop company over his refusal.
Sure would be interesting to hear how Lars and LC come down on this issue. Remember, it was those two telling us it was unsafe to use hydroxychloroquine to treat Kung Flu because there weren’t sufficient studies to determine whether or not it is safe even though it’s been safely used to treat a variety of maladies for more than a half century.
Wanna bet they wouldn’t come down on the side of mandatory vaccinations for all military personnel?
One third of the mils took the vaccine?
Ok, I got a 40 pax infantry platoon, and only 6 dudes got it.
Me, the PL, 2 SQD LDRs, and 2 joes.
That’s it.
The PL and I always have to lead the way, so it was not really optional for us. We got Moderna, and the first shot got us down for about 24 hours, but the second, beat the shit out of us for 3 effing days.
Take this as personal experience, not as an empirical study on the side effects and the willingness of the troops to embrace the vaccine.
My experience wasn’t quite as bad, down about 12 hours on shot 1, 24 on 2.
Got our first shots from the VA last week. All spouse and I experienced from the 1st dose (Moderna) were local soreness (about 24hr for me, about 48hr for spouse) and feeling kinda “blah” the next day.
Hmm, got the first one a few weeks ago, just bit sore like a regular flu shot. Get the 2nd one 06 Apr, so we’ll see in a week or so. Wife says hell no. Numbers are about right for where I work. Besides leadership Mil/CIV, the rest not so much. I opted in because… well, the rest of the team did.
When will enough be enough?
“a critical threat to our national security and public health,”
Next they will be calling them traitors.
That would more than adequately describe the entire Resident Biden administration. And they are being pretty clear and transparent about it.
Slow Joe hasn’t had a transparent day in over 2 decades.
The Plague went through Europe three times, maybe more but with a lower infection rate. No reason that can’t happen again, but with this bug.
