Fight over parking between neighbors leaves 1 man shot and killed
HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — A fight over parking between neighbors on Christmas Day erupted into a shooting, leaving one man dead in north Harris County, according to the Harris County Sherriff’s Office.
It happened around 7:30 p.m. in the 1100 block of Sawgrass Ridge Lane.
Deputies said the shooter called the sheriff’s office and surrendered at a nearby truck stop with what he claimed was the gun he used.
They said the man told them several men approached him with guns.
The shooter said he fired his weapon for fear of being shot himself.
“As of right now, we’ve made the determination that the individual who shot the deceased male is making a claim of self-defense,” said Sgt. Jason Brown.

Grenade launcher found in backseat of car that crashed in Grand Terrace
San Bernardino County deputies who responded to an early Christmas Day crash in Grand Terrace reported finding a destructive device inside an abandoned vehicle.
Investigators believe the driver fled on foot after the single-car crash near the intersection of Glendora Drive and Barton Road at around 12:30 a.m. Friday, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
A bullet had gone through the vehicle’s rear window, shattering it before ending up on the dashboard, officials said. Deputies said they also found a small amount of blood in the center console, and an anti-tank rocket propelled grenade launcher “in plain view” in the backseat.

Not a lot of info in the news fable……errrr……story about that rocket launcher. Anyone with experience here at TAH able to tell much about it from that photo? Looks like an AT4. Are they serial numbered?
Expended/inert/trainer? I have seen similar offered for sale at shows, likewise LAW tubes. They are usually pretty beat up.
I am assuming a de-mil process.
The picture of it sitting next to the Honda is not a “demilled” or inert trainer. We used those a lot at NTC and they are very clearly marked with certain paint and colors. The black tape bands indicate it is a live round. Looks like someone is going to be called in from leave for a full inventory before the New Years!
Thanks. Never handled a live one.
A video turned up on a Hood type page of some youths with a spent AT4 tube. Livestreaming the events from inside the car its disappeared for now.
I figured the worst it could be used for is to either smoke a bowl through it, or hit you over the head with it.
I ask about the tube being serial numbered, the po-po could do a trace from manufacturer, to depot, to military base and unit. Granted, once fired, the unit is a useless tube of plastic,, but how did it get into the perp’s hands? (and it was probably all perfectly legal)
I think the “empties” remain accountable items. For good reason.
And the irony is vast: the Glock “44” is a .22.
Now, Katy bar the door if they ever sell a Glock in say, .44 Automag. (7.62 case cut to pistol length and necked slightly to take a .429 slug)
Now imagine that setup in a 10 inch barrel SBR with folding stock and collectible tax stamp. Quite a Thumper, eh? (hi Colonel Cooper!)
What Glock started selling as a 22LR trainer, has now taken on legs of its own and become a shootin’ iron in its own right.
Any company selling a serious combat gun who doesn’t sell a .22 equivalent is missing a significant revenue opportunity.
“…if they ever sell a Glock…” They will have done a good thing and gotten rid of a plastisized abomination that is an insult to the designs of his most Saintly John Moses Browning (Howitzer be his name). Let me get spun up into my sho’nuff bitching and moaning mode and I’ll have both my tails waggin’.
“…fired his weapon for fear of being shot himself.” Good story…now stick to it.
“…store clerk shot the suspect…” Hope he he bled out…in the cold…all alone.
Ain’t lost nuffin in LA and I damn sure didn’t leave a shoulder fired Artillery Piece layin’ about. FTA, the registered owner of the vehicle is on probation for “assault with and automatic weapon.” DaHell?
Sounds like an Arms Dealer! Maybe his customer was not happy with him, or he tried to rip him off!
Parking disputes. I remember during a major snowstorm years ago in Brooklyn, ny, a man spent quite awhile digging out a parking space for his car out of a large snow bank in front of his house so he goes to his double parked car to get into the spot and some guy goes around him and takes the spot. I think their were words and the guy wouldn’t take his car out of the spot so the guy who just dug the spot out goes into his house and comes out with a shotgun and kills the guy in the car.
I remember that story, as well. It should have adjudicated as justifiable homicide.
OTOH… I am not so sure that he had any equitable ownership of the parking spot greater than anyone else.
Either way, spending one moment in jail or prison over a parking spot cannot possibly be worth it.
If you want to see some really petty hatefulness, checkout any condo or homeowners’ association. Some of those tyrants make Gretchen Whitmer seem compassionate.
Hope the shooter was charged! Discharging a firearm in city limits, maybe. Or littering.
Noise ordinance.
Littering, and creating a nuisance! (Guitar music…)
Heh.
Put the snow back. Creatively. Add a “fuck plowboys” sign.
Heh
Or, just pour about ten gallons of water creatively, over time.
Heh.
Bad behavior requires proper sanction
WAGARVILLE, Alabama — An Alabama man and his son shot each other dead after getting in a fight over a family dog, which the younger man had killed for trying to attack a child.
When Kelvin James Coker, 60, discovered his dog had been shot on Saturday, he drove to the home of his 32-year-old son, Kelvin Nicholas Coker, who admitted killing the animal, cops said.
As the argument grew heated, James opened first, striking his son in the torso, cop said.
Nicholas returned fire with a shotgun, hitting his father in the neck. Both men died from their wounds.
The sheriff called the family ‘very dysfunctional.’

“Very dysfunctional” seems to qualify as the understatement of the year.
Sounds like a win-win situation for the gene pool.
That’s why I posted it.
There are stories about guns and people who don’t treat the gun or others with respect (as opposed to a shooting in self defense or protecting of others) that to me, the story fits right in with the theme of “Feel Good Stories.”
Darwin and the gene pool wins.
