Swalwell Suggests Trump Admin Leaked Chinese Spy Story — ‘They Are Not Going to Silence Me’

Wednesday on “CNN Newsroom,” Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) reacted to the bombshell Axios report that claimed a Chinese spy named Fang Fang had relationships with powerful Democratic Party figures, including Swalwell, a member of the House Intelligence Committee.
Swalwell noted that the story was leaked at the same time he was working to impeach President Donald Trump. He added nobody wants to live in a country where people who are critical of the president have “law enforcement information weaponized against them.”

Host Jim Sciutto asked Swalwell if he was concerned about sharing any information with the Chinese spy before being notified by the FBI.
“Well, I know that I didn’t,” Swalwell replied. “Again, I can’t talk too much about the details of the case even though others may have violated their oath I’m not going to violate mine, but the Axios story made it absolutely clear that no information was ever shared, except, Jim, the people who did share classified information were the people who leaked this story. And to do that against a critic of the president, they may think that they’re going to silence me. They are not going to silence me but what they are going to do is they are going to make others think twice when they are asked to sit down and provide defensive information about people like this.”

The inherwebz (‘ceptin’ for the usual suspects of the alphabet netz) are full of stories on this subject. Posted some on the other thread and can hardly keep up with the new ones. Chromie is slurpin’ down the apple juice in his batt-trees, guess I better go plug his happy ass in.
Sadly, it won’t make a dimes worth of difference. After all, y’all may recall, the demonrats constantly returned a murdering rapist to the Senate and Lionized him. Another Senator had a Chinese Spy for a driver for nearly 20 years, what makes you think that Swallowswell will see any prosecution?

Someone -well, four someones, per the article- leaked it. And if Swalwell was indeed sleeping with her, as seems probable given his non-denial, he’s a fool for putting himself in that, uh,.. position. Hardly the first, and certainly not the last, but deserves blame nonetheless.
That said, the possibility of this being political still does exist – and, in my opinion, how likely it is hinges on the identity of the two midwest mayors who were sleeping with her. If they’re Republicans, it lends some credence to the notion the leak was political by virtue of naming Democrats, but not naming Republicans. Given the rest of her known network, and that her Facebook profile showed all her Democratic connections, though, I find that unlikely.
Instead, like pretty much all other politicians, he’s trying to shift the blame for his own actions. I’m shocked. Shocked, I tell you. Good to see the TAH crowd finally giving some credit to solid reporting using anonymous sources, though! It wasn’t too long ago y’all ranted about that sort of thing as ‘fake news’. 😉
We disagree (surprise!) on the spelling of “anonymous” LC. In this post it’s spelled “CNN” “Axios” and of course “Breitbart.”
I can see your confusion, though. Sciutto, while a nobody, is hardly anonymous.

In the interest of fairness, I’ll post up the mystery mayors when/if I come across them.
To be clear, Axios is the primary reporting source, with CNN and Breitbart reporting on that. And Axios’s whole story is based on ‘anonymous sources’:
Now, I’ve got zero problems with that – Axios knows who the sources are, we just don’t, and there are four of them. But if four anonymous sources claimed something about Trump, I’m inclined to think most here would be ranting about the anonymous aspect. Gotta get my rare moment of fun pointing out that double standard!
And I’ll absolutely update you if any news pops up about those mayors, too. Like I said, given her profile, I expect they’ll be Democrats, too, but one never knows. Regardless of politics, and much as I’m for peoples’ sexual lives being their own business, when you compromise security like that, … you shouldn’t win re-election. Period.
Well, the Chinese femme fatale was a prolific fund raiser for the dems in the Western part of the country, so it’s doubtful she’d be boinking mayors of any other persuasion.
And, after reading the story at the link that HMCS(FMF)ret. posted, he was a perfect patsy for the Chinese hooker.
He’s got money problems and she probably waved some cash and Poon Tang his way… and the rest is history.
