17-year-old shot while allegedly trying to break into east central Fresno home
This is the second time in two weeks the home was allegedly broken into.

By Sontaya Rose
Fresno County Sheriff’s detectives have recovered surveillance video from an east Central Fresno home – after a resident said he shot at someone who was trying to break in on Wednesday morning.

The 17-year-old suspected burglar was found nearby after being struck.

The homeowner reported a burglary at his home for the second time in two weeks.

“We’re obviously talking with the homeowner to figure out why he might be getting targeted so much, and then there’s a lot to the story that we still don’t know,” said Tony Botti with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators say a Ring camera installed by the front door was working early Wednesday morning and captured video of the attempted burglary. The camera also alerted the homeowner, who deputies say, grabbed a handgun and ran outside. By that time detectives were told, the suspect had jumped a fence and was running.

At some point, the homeowner confronted the attempted burglar, and several shots were fired.

Volusia deputies: Fight over sexual gestures turns into metal pipe assault, shots fired

Patricio G. Balona
A man who was shot at Monday afternoon by a motorist at a gas station near Daytona Beach disrespected the shooter’s wife and got into a fight with him, Volusia County deputies said.

The motorist had stopped at the Chevron gas station at 3624 W. International Speedway Blvd. near the Volusia County Branch Jail with his family.

Darrell Shamblen, 43, approached the man and his family in their van and started making sexual gestures toward the motorist’s wife, deputies said.

The man then got into an argument with Shamblen, investigators said.

Shamblen left but returned with a metal pipe and hit the man, deputies said.

The victim got out and fired his gun at Shamblen, but did not hit him. Shamblen then ran away, prompting a search by patrol deputies, a K-9 unit, SWAT Team members and a sheriff’s helicopter, authorities said.

I’ve fired AW1 Rod’s Ruger No. 1 in 30.06, Delta Whiskies and Whiskettes. Much more accurate than I, and after 10 rounds my shoulder is asking for an ice pack. A cryin’ shame about that terrible boating accident…

Fresno shooter gonna have some ‘splaining to do, Lucy. Not looking like a real good shoot there.

Yep, that’s why they call it dope. Being high and taking knives to gunfights is no way to go thru life, son…oh…wait!

Floru-duh man…again. FIRST of all, don’t disrespect wimmins…’specially someones wife…’specially by making sexual motions. And if you gonna take a metal pipe to a gunz fight, make sure your metal pipe is a gunz too. Dumbass!

“….finest firearms designer since John Browning…” Again…it ALWAYS seem to go back to the most saintly JMB…Howitzer Be his name.

A little FGS news on the Gun Bunny front. Nah, I didn’t shoot some deserving dirtbag. Since the tragic boat accident, in the flooded quicksand bog during the tornacane, my weapons are limited to casted iron. No, this is progress on a historical project we’ve been working on. We procured and moved a dilapidated original 1820s lawer office in the vicinity of FOB Hawkins Hill. Among other claims to fame, it was used as quarters for Federal ossifers during ‘Cump Sherman’s Retreat to The Sea. They stood on the porch and watched the pillage and destruction of the Courthouse and the town that at one point in time was the 4th largest city in the state. A historically minded lawer left sufficient funds in his estate toward the renovation of said building. Meeting this AM to discuss the next step. The Historical Architecture Cadre at UGA will be helping us with this project to insure it is restored to the 1830 time period. See y’all this afternoon.
