Something to Consider

| June 15, 2020
Boomer sent this to us. It is quite well worth your time to read it.  My response to it is that if Lyndon Johnson, that oversized Texas blowhard, had not started the welfare program that makes a specific population sector dependent on Other a/k/a Government for support, we might not have this problem today. The objective of the Democrats has always been to have a population sector dependent on them for everything, especially when that sector is allowed to vote.
Here is an interesting, well written and thought provoking perspective on the problem of race in America today.
The liberal platform excludes any narrative other than that which will mobilize their base, even to the destroying of black lives to make their point.

ANALYSIS/OPINION:

I know of no white person alive today in the United States who has ever legally owned a black slave, or any slave for that matter. Almost 700,000 mostly white men died 160 years ago to end slavery. Jim Crow ended generations ago. Yet black America, for the most part, is still locked in inner-city gang violence and economic hardship. Why?

Is it because America is racist?  Is it because of some overhanging white supremacy?  Is it because of the Illuminati?

No, unfortunately, it is because of black culture and the adoption of Democratic Party government dependency.

We have just had eight years of the first black president.  Black athletes, and entertainers, routinely earn multi-million dollar incomes.  I can easily name several black billionaires without even trying too hard. A large percentage of black America is very successful. But, it is not enough. Too many black youth are being left behind.

And it is no one but black America’s fault.

No one can solve this problem but black America.  No one can throw enough money at it.  We’ve tried that.  Black America needs to look in the mirror and stop blaming others, especially white people.

I am obviously white and conservative, and I served in the military, which, during my time, was as color blind as you could be. I can also honestly say I don’t give a damn what color your skin is, neither do any of my friends.  I do care about your actions.

Blacks are around 15 percent of the population. Depending on what study you look at, they commit around 40 percent to 50 percent of violent crime in America. Of course, there is going to be a problem with police.  And, of course, there are some bad policemen.. However, those bad apples do not kill black people statistically anymore than they kill white people.  Even Harvard said that recently. If you were a cop, and you had to work in a neighborhood infested with crime and murder, wouldn’t you act differently than in a neighborhood where there was little crime? The most effective thing black America could do to improve its relationship with police is to significantly reduce violent crime where they live.  Yes, that means change the culture of where you live and your community.

I for one am tired of being blamed.  I am tired of dealing with people who only want something from others.  I don’t oppress anyone.  I don’t hold anyone down.  I’m tired of getting on the D.C. Metro and seeing white people being harassed by roaming gangs of black youth with their pants around their knees.  Yes, you want a white person uncomfortable?  That makes me uncomfortable.  It’s our nation’s capital and it’s embarrassing.

Blacks have nothing but opportunity in America.  Try finding the same opportunity anywhere else in the world.  If you are born in America you’ve won life’s economic lottery.  Take advantage of it.

The problem is this generation has been taught an agenda of cultural Marxism by our education system.  They’ve been taught to be a victim, and it’s still going on.  All you have to do is watch the young black, female student at Yale screaming at the college president to understand that.  Blacks in America don’t even know how good they got it.

Don’t kneel when my anthem is played.  Too many people died for that flag.  You are free to protest but NOT then!  I am free to not watch or pay to watch you play if you do that.  The NFL should make it a rule that you stand for the national anthem.  There is no free speech to disobey a private employer on private property.  This would solve the problem immediately.

The NFL has deeply offended most of America.  They will pay an economic and reputational price, as they should.

We have a real cultural problem in this country, the result of the Leftist multicultural agenda.  Multi-ethnicity is perfect and should be encouraged..  Having more than one American culture is destroying the country.  But then again, that is what the Left wants.

Do Black Lives Matter?

It is your job to determine if this is a racist rant or just a review of factual data.

WHAT IF ALL THE BLACKS SUDDENLY LEFT AMERICA, WHICH IS 13.3% OF THE TOTAL U.S.POPULATION:

Amount of people in poverty would drop – 34%,
The prison population would go down by -37%,
Welfare recipients would go down by – – – 42%,
Gang members would go down by – – – – – 53%
Chlamydia cases would go down – – – – – – 54%,
Homelessness would go down – – – – – – – -57%
Syphilis would go down  – – – – – – – – – – – – 58%.
AIDS & HIV would go down by – – – – – – – -65%,
Gonorrhea would go down – – – – – – – – – – -69%,
Average ACT scores would go UP – – – – – 5.5 points.
Average IQ would go UP – – – – – – – – – – – -7.4 points,  putting us 3rd in the world tied with Japan,
Average SAT scores would go UP almost – – – – -100 points,
The average income for Americans would go UP over $20,000 a year, but Democrats would lose 76% if their voting base.

And many criminal defense lawyers would have to find another line of work!

Yes, black lives DO matter!

Idiotic.

We don’t have poverty in this country because of welfare programs. We have among the weakest and least generous social welfare networks of all industrial democracies.

Yet, have among the highest poverty rates.

You keep trying to find excuse frameworks to defend the status quo.

The status quo is not fucking working.

Nearly every advantage boomers had was dismantled for future generations.

We now have the lowest social mobility of any industrial democracy. Making the American Dream a lie.

We have among the highest poverty rates.

We have among the greatest wealth disparities.

Boomers were born into a country with the greatest opportunity and investment in future generations that has ever existed.

Then spent their lives taking as much as they can for themselves while giving back as little as possible.

Benefiting from massive federal investment in their futures while whining about taxes their entire lives. Leading to massive deficit spending. Debt that will have to be paid back by future generations.

Boomers stole the prosperity of the next 3-4 generations.

No generation has taken more and given back less in the history of human society.

spapos you ignorant slut! Oh ye of the empirical data and here it is beating you most severely about the head and shoulders. This is SOLID EMPIRICAL EVIDENCE, that is well known and widespread. Until LBJ came along with his Great Society (read re-enslave and insure that those n****s will vote for us for the next 300 years…HIS WORDS) the majority of Blacks were 2 parent households, Republicans, worked for a living and endeavored to instill in their children the hopes for a good future.

Since no one can confuse you with the facts, your mind being made up to only believing what you want to believe, I’ll just leave this here:

Skyjumper

KoB, this one is for you brother. (grin)

My Man Sky! Tanks Brother! 😆 😆 😆 😆

Ret_25X

Moronic. Yes, Kummissar, poverty in the USA is CAUSED by welfare systems.

I’ll say that again because I know you are dense. Welfare systems CAUSE poverty.

Welfare systems are also causative factors to CRIME. CRIME also CAUSES poverty.

If you didn’t know so much that isn’t so, you could keep up with the actual, you know, science on these issues.

Poverty is not an absence of income in the US. It’s a squalor of behavior.

That squalor, is squarely the sole responsibility of the LEFT in America. The left has built a poverty kingdom which it harvests for votes.

Can you say “plantation”? Sure you can.

So get out of here with your racist, classist, and destructive squalor of behavior ideology.

One can never break the grip that CAPTAIN MOONBAT aka Commissar has on his propaganda!

HMCS(FMF) ret

I guess that Major Asshole has never hear anyone of color every say “DA MAN IS HOLDING MY ASS DOWN”. LBJ went as far as saying this:

“These Negroes, they’re getting pretty uppity these days and that’s a problem for us since they’ve got something now they never had before, the political pull to back up their uppityness. Now we’ve got to do something about this, we’ve got to give them a little something, just enough to quiet them down, not enough to make a difference.”

SFC D

Seems to me there’s a similarity in the failure of the LBJ inspired “welfare state” and the multiple failures of communism and socialism. They fail because of human nature. Why work to improve your lot in life if big brother will take care of everything? Free shit ain’t free. You have to sell your soul to get it.

Roh-Dog

That ‘Government is broken, WE NEED MOAR!’ bs is nauseating to say the least. I’m a believer that anyone proselytizing this nonsense should be be forced into indentured servitude at the Post Office. (No offense!)

Hondo

Free shit ain’t free.

Bingo. Someone, somewhere pays for it – one way or another.

That’s even true when the government “confiscates” something for “the common good” (like taxes). In that case, the individual from whom the item in question was taken pays.

Boy PH2, as soon as I read this article you posted, I knew you had just massively triggered the commie cuttlefish. Everything in the flyboy’s article is absolutely true, thus, I didn’t bother to waste the “leetle gray cells” to read the comment of our Marxist blatherskite. The problem with many Blacks in this country has been summed up in one word coined by a prominent Black minister in Baltimore. He says it is “ni**erism.” His word not mine. And he brought up many of the facts set forth in this article, plus the fact of over 70% of Black children borne out of wedlock and living in single parent homes.

One has to wonder why Black males between the ages of 11 and 60 make up less than 6% of the population, but they commit over 40% of the crime in this country. Could it be that so many of them grow up without a responsible father or father figure in their lives as children?

I remember listening to a caller on a radio talk show telling about when she worked in a welfare office and told of times she would be accosted by “Clients” in name brand designer sportswear with the latest electronic gadgets going to her car after quitting time demanding benefits RIGHT THEN AND THERE despite them not making it to their appointments during working hours among other things.

*CALLING CAPTAIN MOONBAT, CALLING CAPTAIN MOONBAT*…

OH, there you are Commissar, like your new name?

You demoted him one grade. But I am still wondering how he got a Reserve Officer commission.

MAJOR Moonbat, I stand corrected, but let’s not forget his perpetually pissed off alter ego, Commissar Poodledick!

“Income disparity”

More Communist horseshit.

Since the bottom end of income is always “zero” , in any economy of nonzero incomes there will be disparity. In any growing economy, there will always be a growth in “income disparity”.

Anyone can move up in the free market. Everyone can move up. No one has anything in the Communist unfree dystopia, and the only ones who “move up” are the ones that seize the whip.

You Marxoids wreck the lives of everyone you touch. Intentionally. Your horseshit arguments do not improve that ugly objective reality.

NHSparky

Show me another country that has distributed $25 TRILLION to “the poor” with fuck all to show for it.

just lurkin

We don’t exactly have nothing to show for all of that spending-a few years ago seven out of the top 10 wealthiest counties in the U.S. were in the D.C. suburbs. So a small number of poverty pimp bureaucrats do well from that spending whether directly (via Federal employment) or indirectly (via lawsuits or straight up corruption ala Jesse Jackson extorting Budweiser distributorships for his kids). Of course so long as the government has a big role in all this concentration of power and corruption is unavoidable. Lars seems to want us to emulate Europe, but a few years ago in France most college students aspired to go to work for the government because of the higher pay and great benefits, but that isn’t sustainable-someone has to build the wealth that the government has to tax to sustain itself and if your best and brightest aspire not to create wealth, but consume it.

Comm Center Rat

Universal Basic Income (UBI) is the answer. The robots and automation will continue to slash the labor rate in the US. The Federal response to this pandemic illustrates why people should be paid when unable or unwilling to work. Currently, here in the PDRofMA the average weekly unemployment amount is $1,155 which is the highest in the nation, even ahead of Hawaii. Not everyone can work even if willing and able.

Stop giving people a hand-up and start giving them a handout that will provide a real measure of financial stability especially in a fragile labor market and depressed economy.

The Federal government is the largest wealth transfer agent in human history. L. Todd Wood who benefitted from a free world class education at the USAF Academy should be first in line touting the benefits of government handouts.

Deserve’s got nothin’ to do with it.

Ret_25X

False.

Automation will not kill jobs. Laziness will.

UBI is nothing but welfare for all. I’m not sure you you think and INCOME TAX is going to be fair or evenly applied.

I’m interested to hear how much of MY INCOME you deserve and why you deserve it.

jobs…they go unfilled because lazy Americans would rather sit at home on the dole and smoke dope than work or believe that they are worth the same income as Lebron even though they can barely start a car by themselves.

UBI = the ultimate enabler of the Left’s Poverty Kingdom.

Comm Center Rat

UBI doesn’t have to be funded through income taxes but rather through sales taxes.

If memory serves, you’re a retired E-9 and current IRS civil service employee (or contractor?). I too am retired military and retired federal civil service. We’ve both suckled at the federal teat for many decades. I just think other folks who aren’t able to obtain government employment should not be excluded from receiving government handouts in other forms such as UBI.

I can assure you I don’t need any of your income and nobody else does either. The USG can double the size of the national debt and easily service its interest payments. If people like you were in charge we’d never have Social Security, Medicare\Medicaid, Unemployment Insurance, or even TRICARE.

Just because you got your nut doesn’t mean everyone else is less deserving of government largesse.

Slow Joe

Bullshit.

The UBI is a troyan horse designed to destroy free market economies.

If you felt bad for having a gruberment job, why didn’t you quit?

Comm Center Rat

I never felt bad about having a government job. I didn’t quit because I retired from the job. As a capitalist I was smart enough to see that retiring provided me with lifetime pension income, health insurance, and survivor benefits. Those are the same reasons why I retired from the military. Wouldn’t make money sense otherwise.

You’re missing my basic point – the federal government can do a lot more for its most needy citizens just as it does so much for its own employees.

SFC D

The most needy citizens have to be willing and able to help themselves instead of taking the free lunch. I will gladly help anyone who wants to break the welfare cycle, but I will not carry them through life because they won’t make the effort.

11B-Mailclerk

Actually, no it can’t. It is already doing epic damage. More damage will not make things better.

Look at the damage done to education by all that free money thrown out for tuition, and by the “guaranteed” debt teenage of seemingly easy loans.

The colleges just up their prices to absorb the extra cash. Hm, like the law of supply and demand or something.

UBI just kicks inflation in the ass for no gain. Plus, by de-incentivising work it damages the economy, reducing it. The CCC and other make-work programs significantly retarded recovery in the depression.

We have too many by-choice slackers and scammers now. UBI just makes slacking universal, and creates a permanent dependant-patronage system. Hm. Who does -that- help?

No.

Communism is stupid and proves destructive no matter what “universal” lie gets told about it.

11B-Mailclerk

“Debt peonage”

rgr769

Anyone here think his sales tax would be any less than 20% to fund the UBI. They tried UBI in the small country of Finland. That country dumped it because it was unaffordable and too many people were happy to subsist on it.

11B-Mailclerk

Where is the “universal basic work” to produce the money for the tax?

Oh, snap…

That’s right, someone -else- gets to labor for someone else to be idle.

No

SFC D

You deserve what you earn. Nothing more, nothing less.

Slow Joe

Universal Basic Income (UBI) is the NOT answer.

Automation will NOT slash the labor rate, but instead create many new opportunities and even entire new economic sectors.

This is the way it has always worked, when new technologies are introduced. When the Ford Model T made horse drawn carriages, a lot of people said the same things you are saying, but the economy kept growing and new jobs were created. The same when tractors reduced the manpower require in agriculture, or when the famous Obama bank cashiers were replaced by ATMs.

The claimed economic disruption NEVER comes to pass, because with each new round of industrialization new opportunities emerge.

Central planners panic, but freedom always finds a way to create new wealth.

Slow Joe

*made horse drawn carriages obsolete*

Comm Center Rat

“The claimed economic disruption NEVER comes to pass, because with each new round of industrialization new opportunities emerge.”

We’re in the Information Age now – well beyond the Industrial or even Post-Industrial Age.

And freedom is just another word for nothin’ left to lose.

Slow Joe

I used industrialization as a generic word for economic increase based on new industries, as for example, the growth in the gaming industry. Gaming is an information industry, but it is an industry.

Economic Freedom has ALWAYS resulted in the betterment of the poor, every single time.

So you are full of shit, Comm Center Rat.

You do realize there is not such a thing as a communist center rat?
All communists rats I know are hard Left, hellbent on destroying America as founded.

Comm Center Rat

I can assure you I’m a Christian first and a Capitalist second. I earned graduate degrees from a leading state university and well known private university. I’m a 40 year registered member of the Republican Party. I only buy individual stocks in US companies – nothing international. Both of my great x 5 grandfathers fought with the Continental Army in the American Revolution. My grandfather was a Army infantryman killed during WW II. I’m a military retiree and the son of a military retiree (VN) and have family members buried at Arlington National Cemetery.

So Joe be careful throwing the “communist” shade. If you want to ascribe the “c” word to me I suggest you use “charitable” or “compassionate” or “Christian” or “Capitalist.” One or all of those four words is more accurate.

Now I have to buy more shares of Exxon Mobil stock. I’m out.

11B-Mailclerk

Christian charity is done with one’s own money, not someone else’s money.

Slow Joe

That has not been true for decades.

Now, the most important decision you can make as an American is being born to rich parents.

That has a greater impact on economic outcome that any other factor.

Social mobility in the US is terrible.

Being born in America automatically places you in the top 4 percent in the world, regardless of your economic or racial background.

There is so much mobility in America that 70 percent of the 621 Billionaires in America in 2019 were born in a middle income family or lower.

“Social mobility in the US is terrible.”

It sure is a lot better here in the USA than in your beloved Communist China where they are ranked at 45th place for social mobility and Russia is in 39th place (well below the United States).

As Red Forman from “That 70’s Show” was fond of saying………DUMBASS!

rgr769

That “born to rich parents” is such bullshit. The children of rich parents frequently don’t amount to squat or end up dead from a drug overdose. Just look at the kids of Hollywood celebrities for typical examples. I would wager most of us commenting here grew up in middle class or modest income families, received good educations, and have been gainfully employed most of our lives. I bet few of us grew up in families that were “rich” money wise.

rgr769

That cuttlefish is really smart. Who knew, as an American, prior to conception, one could choose to be “born to rich parents?” Some other “privileged” person must have stolen my silver spoon when I was conceived by my mom with the assistance of my USN AMM1 dad at the end of WWII. Those of us without “rich parents” was robbed, I tell ya.

OWB

Well, well, well. After at least 4 decades of lies, lies, and more lies, finally some truth.

I will disagree with him only in that those responsible (white lefties) for this mess and should bear the largest part of the solution, but that is never going to happen. So we must ALL put our heads down and fix this. Now. There is no more time for diddling around arguing over semantics and blame.

The goobermint started it’s subsidies of the least productive among us in the 60’s. Concurrent with this has been the reproduction among crazies and addicts to the point that the DNA of those in both groups may not be fixable. They are broken. Permanently. Reproduction of the least capable to contribute to society has been subsidized by us all. That experiment can only be called humane by those who wish to see the country destroyed.

Look closely at those statistics. Evidently white (or at least non-blacks) still take 58% of welfare income. Let THAT sink in. Mostly what you hear from media et al sounds suspiciously like it comes from an assumption that mostly blacks get welfare. Obviously still not a correct position to take.

Oh, well. We can survive this, but not much longer if we do not start fixing it or at least staunch the bleeding.

Sorry about mentioning the Constitution, forgot to read that fine print that says..”….shall not be inflamed.”

Poetrooper

I read an article at American Thinker the other day that touches on Lars’s foolish claim that being born American doesn’t give you a leg up. The article offered a suggestion as to how we should determine the amounts of reparations paid to blacks under California’s new law.

Since blacks demanding reparations are claiming that all their problems are due to the fact that they were uprooted from their homelands in Africa and brought to America, perhaps the reparations due them should be computed by determining what their status would be now in those homelands had that forced emigration never occurred.

In other words, compare their current financial worth here in America to what it is in Africa for blacks of comparable age, gender, education, etc. and pay them the difference, or vice-versa.

The author concluded that in almost every case, due to their huge financial advantages as Americans, the demanding recipients would actually owe the US Government, e.g. the American people, a substantial sum.

Now ol’ Poe could get on board with that reparations program…

11B-Mailclerk

The Donks have to flog that shibboleth. If minorities figure out just how badly they were f##ked by Donks and assorted proggies they will face likely extinction at the hands of those they “helped”.

And I mean “extinction” in all its bloody lynchmob horror. Folks will be understandably annoyed.

Perhaps that is why the Left’s red line is preventing minorities escaping shitty schools. Hm.

11B-Mailclerk

Funny how many real impoverished people come here to become “impoverished” by US standards, which are hugely more well off than elsewhere.

On a visit to the DC area, the driver taking me back to the airport saw a bunch of folk sitting out front of a convenience store, and roundly criticized them for being drunk and idle at 10am.

He arrived here nearly penniless. He now -owned- the car, outright, and two driven by relatives. His kids were in a good school. He had a bright future. How can any American be poor?

Typical.

“Poor” can be happenstance. Staying poor takes effort and intent.

A relative griped about poverty and my “Good luck”. I asked about their cable bill. I was shocked. “turn it off”. Minimal cable for job searches and phone was about $25.

$225 a month not to cable will go a long way paying off debts. So will a $300 a month not to a cigarette habit.

It’s no secret that the government has done a better job of destroying the black family than the KKK was ever able to do simply by changing societal norms and expectations. In the 1960s black children in single family homes represented only 22% of black children while today that number is about three times that of the 1960s at almost 66%. Denzel Washington is quoted as saying the biggest problem is a lack of positive male influences in the lives of young black men. While we can discuss the reality of why that is so another reality is that nothing white people or the government does will change the current situation for black children. As Denzel points out the black community needs to step up to the plate and address this very real issue on their own. Chris Rock makes a joke about how some black men act as if they deserve special recognition because they’ve not yet gone to jail…he replies..you ain’t special cuz you ain’t supposed to go to jail…more colorfully than I paraphrase the routine I assure you, and it’s quite humorous because of the truth underneath the observation. We are all on the same page with respect to George Floyd I believe, thebesig had a good article where we all indicated our feeling that was completely out of order. However the unspoken reality of police killings as this author points out are the situations where police killings are most likely to occur, violent crime scenarios where in the case of murder black men at 7% of the population commit, and are victims of, at least half the murders in the nation. That means the likelihood of a police encounter increases exponentially and thus the likelihood of a lethal force encounter with a negative outcome for the suspect should they resist or display a weapon of any sort. These are uncomfortable realities because they directly address the responsibility of the black community in their own demise and their own lack of positive response. We can discuss why economically we have a system that creates more opportunity for… Read more »

Put another way, imposing helplessness upon people leads to hopelessness among too many. Victimhood roughly equates to something along that continuum.

Yes, this can be reversed. It won’t be until the voices of those who benefit from keeping huge segments of the population hopeless are drowned out by those who spread the truth about America’s promises for all.

Opportunity is only within the grasp of those who believe that opportunity is for them as well as others.

Fatherlessness is probably the biggest problem facing our entire society and the main issue that the black community has to face. It is the foremost indicator of the future success, or lack thereof, of children and especially male children. Steve Sailer suggests that we turn the legalized pot industry over to black entrepreneurs as a form of reparations and i think the idea has merit in a “two birds, one stone’ manner.
