Effin’ Forecaster Fired For Filandering

This message is brought to you by an article about one Neil Ferguson in the UK who has a long, long record of using his own “special” computer software to make predictions of disastrous epidemics, all of which have turned out to be not just wrong, but completely wrong and have cost hundreds of millions of dollars in unnecessary damage to various industries, including UK farming and in the USA, the entire economy.

From the National Review article:  Neil Ferguson is the British academic who created the infamous Imperial College model that warned Boris Johnson that, without an immediate lockdown, the coronavirus would cause 500,000 deaths and swamp the National Health Service.

Johnson’s government promptly abandoned its Sweden-like “social distancing” approach, and Ferguson’s model also influenced the U.S. to make lockdown moves with its shocking prediction of over two million Americans dead. – article

Over two million Americans dead? Of what? Falling down laughing, maybe? The actual mortality count to date is slightly over 111,000.

When you read the article itself, you’ll find that he’s the Bozo who came up with various ‘millions will die’ forecasts, which have turned out to be completely wrong, not remotely close to the real numbers.  His forecasts, however, have had repeated disastrous and costly effects on agriculture and the economy in the UK, and his coronavirus “forecast” has also turned out to be completely wrong.

He is a fraud of the worst kind. He has profited from scaring the pants off gullible targets. Since he did a forecast of two million Americans dying of CV19, my instincts tell me he had “the ear” of Dr. Fauci.  Most of us learned a long time ago that if something doesn’t smell right, it’s probably wrong, rotten to the core, and this stinks to high heaven.

Understand that I take the effects of CV19 seriously because I’ve seen up front the kind of devastation that some really nasty diseases can create. Polio is one. Franklin Roosevelt picked it up from swimming in warm pond waters as an adult. It crippled him for life. My sister picked it up in grade school and it went into her tonsils, nearly suffocating her. One of my classmates in college was an unfortunate soul whose parents didn’t have him vaccinated for polio long after the vaccine had been released, and he had contracted it. He managed to overcome the effects through PT, but his right leg and right arm were hampered by the after-effects of that disease.  We have TAHers who have shingles as a result of contracting chicken pox, with the result that they still carry the varicella organism and suffer from its after-effects.  I take diseases seriously, whether they are human-oriented or attracted to livestock, including batshit crazy small shorthair cats. Polio, like smallpox and TB, went around whole population groups until the Salk vaccine was developed and released.  You can also die of complications caused by whatever influenza strain comes up in the fall, and that happens to all ages from infants onward.

However, releasing extremely alarmist and inaccurate forecasts of population decimation, which caused an entire economic shutdown of the US economy, and then refusing to admit that it was, like all his other forecast, so far off the mark that it smells as rotten as skunk cabbage in the Spring, is the hallmark of arrogance and disdain for the consequences of what he did.

As noted in the article linked, his forecast about the effects of BSE, a cattle disease, on humans wreaked havoc on the UK cattle industry and the number of people who actually died from mad cow disease was 177, when he had forecast over 150,000. 6 million cattle were destroyed because of his lousy attempts at forecasting. Same thing happened with his forecast of sheep disease: mass slaughter based on bad information that nearly destroyed the sheep industry.

From the article: Indeed, Ferguson’s Imperial College model has been proven wildly inaccurate. To cite just one example, it saw Sweden paying a huge price for no lockdown, with 40,000 COVID deaths by May 1, and 100,000 by June. Sweden now has 2,854 deaths and peaked two weeks ago. As Fraser Nelson, editor of Britain’s Spectator, notes: “Imperial College’s model is wrong by an order of magnitude.”

As I said, he predicted over 2,000,000 CV-19 related deaths in the USA. So far, the total is absolutely NOT remotely close to that, and will never be. The to date total is just over 111,000.  And Ferguson is a crapweasel of the worst kind.

Unless some greedy governor somewhere decides to bilk the US government out of money by reporting deaths as the result of CV19 exposure when they weren’t, the real-world results of CV-19 related deaths in the USA are well below Ferguson’s  prediction.

Fortunately, Ferguson has been dismissed from his job for breaking lockdown and having an affair with a married woman while everyone else was in involuntary quarantine. Let’s hope he gets the message.

Just thought you would all like to know who the culprit is behind the fake-panic-stricken politicians telling us to stay in lockdown and attempting to turn us into unquestioning simpletons, never mind completely destroying our economy.
