Man acquitted of murder in deadly Delano shooting
by: Jason Kotowski
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A Kern County jury on Thursday acquitted a man of second-degree murder in connection with a deadly shooting in Delano that occurred in May of last year.
The jury deliberated for less than an hour before finding Enrique Batacan Quiniones acted in self-defense when he shot 33-year-old Alfonso Garcia Jr. in the 300 block of Balboa Drive.
Quiniones, 22, is expected to soon be released from custody.
Deputy Public Defender T. Alan Rogers said jurors decided that Quiniones had the right to defend himself by using a rifle to kill Garcia, a known gang member who was high on methamphetamine when he stabbed Quiniones on his property.
Rogers said the jury’s verdict was justice for Quiniones following a roughly 19-day trial that began in March before being delayed by the coronavirus.
“This was a team effort by the Public Defender’s office in making sure the truth came out and the whole story was told,” he said. “The jury communicated to me that it hopes the Delano Police Department carefully reviews all of the evidence before making another innocent man face murder charges.”

Ga. Supreme Court confirms prosecution immunity in Albany murder case
By Tesia Reed
DOUGHERTY CO., Ga. (WALB) -Marlina Hamilton is a free woman and will not have to go to trial again for the death of her ex-husband, Christopher Donaldson.Hamilton was previously convicted of murdering Donaldson.
She was granted a new trial that was appealed by the state several times.
The Dougherty County District Attorney was set to argue in the state’s highest court that she should not be immune from prosecution.
But earlier this year, she was ultimately granted immunity from prosecution.
Back in 2010, Hamilton testified that Donaldson repeatedly abused her before she shot him in self-defense.
She was sentenced to life in prison.
She has spent the last five years in prison before her release in 2016.
Her attorney, William Godfrey, said for those in this same situation and looking for a second chance they should just continue to fight.
All the thugs seem busy with new opportunities, Delta Whiskies and Whiskettes. The summer of discontent will wind down soon enough, and it’ll be back to business as usual.

Good to see that justice can prevail in the court system. Was vaguely aware of the Albany case, it popped up on the local news now and again as it was plodding along. And the Commiefornia case? It is also good to see that a good guy with a rifle can bring down a bad guy from his high.
The Remington 700! ’nuff said! And yepper, everybody wants to be a Carlos Hathcock, til it’s time to do Carlos Hathcock type stuff. Got a local wanna be embellishing phony that borderline claims to have a higher killz rate than Carlos. Of course he can/did/was only able to talk about it on the Book of Fake to “friends” that weren’t local. His current “sniper rifle” is a .17 cal with a spotter’s type scope. He actually was in the Nasty Girls as a motor grader operator for a bit till he got throwed out of there.

I bought a 700 years ago and had a stainless steel bluing tank fabricated and purchased a bottle of parkerizing product from shotgun news and parkerized the barrel over the two stoves ranges. Came out great and I installed a Leatherwood scope on it but never shot it. Ended up selling it. Had the chance to buy a prison electric chair, ejection seat and a German Enigma machine from shotgun news but never did.
Why would you park that lovely factory blue? And never shot it? Jeff, I worry about you.
If you like her, hope you got to Boomer’s Sunday… two fine brunettes in one day.
David;
No need to worry, this was a long time ago and the semi auto rifles I bought, I never shot except for the H&K 91 & 94. I was collecting them but did not want to run any rounds through them. Hmm, to think about it, I did run some rounds through my AR-15 and AR-180.
A restraining order is just a piece of paper. I taught my boys that if a lady says no, she means no. I hope that other women who were convicted of killing their abusive spouses get a second chance at a trial.
