Arizona business owner defends store with rifles, handguns during looting
“We weren’t here to hurt anybody. We weren’t here to harm anybody,” the store owner’s son said.
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — As protesters in Scottsdale moved down 5th Avenue, local stores had windows broken and benches along the road were damaged.
The vandalism continued down the road, until protesters came to a local jewelry store. There, the protesters found a handful of people inside the store, armed with rifles and handguns.
“We weren’t here to hurt anybody. We weren’t here to harm anybody,” the store owner’s son, who did not wish to be identified by name, said. “After seeing exactly what happened to the Apple store, this isn’t protesting, this isn’t rioting, this is crime.”
The protesters stopped and proceeded to hold a bit of a protest, kneeling and raising their arms in front of the store.

Logan Square shop owner confronts looters, fires gun, detains one, prosecutors say
A Logan Square store owner with a concealed carry license fired shots at hammer-wielding looters who confronted him in his shop early Monday, prosecutors said. The businessman even managed to detain one of the alleged intruders for police.
The owner of St. Lucia’s Smoke Shop at 2075 North Western decided to stay in an apartment above his shop this weekend to watch out for looters. Around 4:20 a.m. Monday, his fears materialized.
Awakened by the sounds of breaking glass, he grabbed his handgun and rushed to the store downstairs with another person. There, he saw a group of men wielding hammers. He told them to stop, but they started surging toward him instead, Assistant State’s Attorney James Murphy said in court Monday evening.
The shop owner told police he fired his gun to make the men back away, but he didn’t know how many shots were fired. Most of the men ran from the store, but the owner managed to grab and handcuff one of them, Murphy said.
That man, 22-year-old David Sloan, is charged with felony burglary.

HOW A MARINE CORPS VETERAN DISARMED A RIOTER DURING SEATTLE PROTEST
By Joshua Skovlund
A Marine Corps veteran turned security contractor, who asked that his name not be used for security reasons, unintentionally took the internet by storm after a video surfaced of him disarming a Seattle rioter who had stolen a police officer’s AR-15 from a destroyed squad car Saturday. The preliminary details of what happened have become distorted on social media, with misconceptions about a second rifle that was slung on his back as well as why he was at the protests that developed following George Floyd’s death in police custody. Coffee or Die obtained an exclusive interview with the contractor to set the record straight on what happened that day.
The contractor served four years in the U.S. Marine Corps infantry in 1st Battalion, 3rd Marines, Alpha Company. After separating from service, he entered into his current career of military contracting, which has included working as a firearms instructor and in security, along with starting a community group on Instagram called Firewatch Official, a page dedicated to helping military and first responder personnel share their stories and quell demons that some carry with them. He said that he is in-between jobs, and due to financial strains incurred by the pandemic, is also in the beginning stages of starting his own company. “When you get to the bottom, it’s like, where are you going to go but up?” he said.

“To trust arms in the hands of the people at large has, in Europe, been believed…to be an experiment fraught only with danger. Here by a long trial it has been proved to be perfectly harmless…If the government be equitable; if it be reasonable in its exactions; if proper attention be paid to the education of children in knowledge and religion, few men will be disposed to use arms, unless for their amusement, and for the defence of themselves and their country.” — Timothy Dwight, Travels in New England and New York [London 1823]

I love our Sheriff he gave orders to shoot to kill any people rioting or any other misdeeds!
Funny thing, we have not had any riots??
Why am I NOT surprised at Mr Sloan’s skin pigmentation?
Obviously, Black Lives DON’T Matter when you pick up a hammer to break glass instead of pounding nails.
As for the store owner…….MORE RANGE TIME!
Tox, the amount of melanin in Mr. Sloans’s skin is not relevant to this article, or any other I post. Please keep this in mind when commenting.
Lawd halp me. You went all out today to keep me out of your hair for awhile, didn’t ya. FIRST thing popping up is an MP linky on the lying Sissy Punk Asinine Piece Of Sh^t, knowing I’d want to be the FIRST to break bad on his azz. Which btw, I was and did same on both the MP Site on evening past and TAH FIRST thing this morning. Then you have to go and tease us with the (GO) ARMY (BEAT NAVY) version of Colonel Colt’s work. I’ve had several of those thru-out the years, they are damn fine shooting irons. But I digress.
More teasing with the linky to SDGS, getting lost in the charms of sister golden hair (Andee) and the beauty of the firery redhead (Elizabeth). (Bring me that one…the sultry one…the one with fire in her eyes!). Then you pile on some excellent articles of good guys with guns taking care of the trash. You beat all, you know that don’t you? Trying to make up for the lack of the recipes on either Monday or Tuesday? Thought I’d let that slide, didn’t ya? Uh huh, and Imma betting you gonna throw that on little ExPH-2 ie, “she started that Monday thing, that’s all on her, you whined and made her do the Tuesday gig last week, she only did it to shut you up, done told you….blah…blah…blah…” You are thusly forgiven for that (not forgetting, just forgiving) by the write up on the Former Marine turned Security Guard staying focused and continuing his mission. BZ Devil Dog, you done good. Saw that on the tubes and the inherwebz when it FIRST broke.
I’ll have my coffee with a taste of the Old Irish, my main man.
One of the hardest of military operations is Passage of Lines. The “Contractors” story in Seattle explains this to a tee!
He was approaching a police line with two AR-15s. How do you get their attention without “getting their attention”. Make no aggressive moves. Listen to all commands. Explain then show (bolts in my pocket). He also needed to get back to his News Crew so he got paid. Off course the news crew got a great exclusive, but not what they wanted to portray.
Great example of a quite professional. Amazing he was only in the Marines for four years. Very professional!
