Scotty sent this to us over the weekend and I was holding on to it for a drought, but our own Ex-PH2 was excited that Daniel A. Bernath was a PH2, too. Just by looking at the rank on his sleeve, you can tell he’s a phony since, instead of laying out the bucks for new rank, he had a stripe embroidered on the sleeve. He has service stripes for twenty years of service, but his FOIA tells a different story;
3 years and change in active service, and a couple of years in the Reserves. Now let’s do some math – you’ll need most of your fingers, he’s wearing seven awards in the picture and the FOIA says that he has five. Well, finally we got a Navy phony who is not a SEAL.

The NASA Group Achievement Award is just that: a GROUP achievement. Everyone in the group would have received this Award with the same verbiage. Yes, it is nice to have …. but I’d rather (someday) be awarded the NASA Exceptional Administrative Achievement Medal.

My apologies if this has already been posted, but I found it on another site which may or may not be a legit site. Either way it seems to fit: “Bernath began his adult life by joining the US Navy at age 17 in 1966. He traveled throughout the Pacific on the USS Kearsarge and USS Yorktown, spent 12 months in the combat zone off the coast of North Vietnam, south and west of communist China. Dan Bernath volunteered and did serve a second tour at Vietnam. While temporarily assigned to the Boatswain Mate 2nd Division, Bernath took the helm of the USS Yorktown and logged 8 hours on the helm in the combat zone and manned the 6 inch gun as a gun crew member during various watches.”
