Frank Dux; phony hero
The folks at Military Phonies send us their very hard work on Frank Dux, the fellow whose fake biography was the basis for the Jean-Claude Van Damme movie “Bloodsport”. Dux was exposed in the book “Stolen Valor (turn to page 415) but he seems to be making a resurgence in popularity.
Dux has claimed a whole bunch of wild-ass stories about his time in the Marine Corps, including service in Vietnam and Beirut;
He did serve in the Marine Corps Reserves, but he served 130 days on active duty and between the actual dates of Vietnam and Beirut operations;
There’s much, much more at Military Phonies and I don’t want to steal their work, so you should click over and read it there.

I tend to believe that Master Dux experiences and credentials are legitimate.
Let’s play “devils advocate”and say 50% is real.
Fact is that Van Damme got a “shot” to be in a movie because of Master Dux.
A movie that helped further his career.
The “alleged” fight between him and Zane Frazier should be better collaborated by any credible sources that were there.
If Frazier “suckered punched” him, then youth and the “sneak” might have given him an edge.
Listen, I lift and fought in the golden gloves.
In my prime, when I was benching 450 at a bodyweight of 185, if I “snack” Mike Tyson with or without brass knuckles, superman punch style blindsided I can almost guarantee that Mike would be stunned enough for me to take him down and stomp him out.
Like him or not Master Frank Dux is a Martial Arts legend who inspired hundreds of thousands and help to jump start a movie career…that’s a fact, jack!
Poor guy getting bashed by idiots and keyboard chumps who have nothing but envy and jealously toward a man who is deserving of his rank.
Ever hear of Karriem Allah?
He developed his own KA system and self ranked 10 Dan.
His students cleaned out every major East Coast tournament back in the day.
Allah from the tough streets of Newark NJ was training with bad ass boxers way before it became part of the Martial Arts or MMA training curriculum.
AND…he fought full contact champ Jeff Smith with 0 PKA/kickboxing fight record and gave Smith all he could handle.
Almost beat him.
A self disciplined individual, who knows how to train with at least 6 months of hands on Martial Arts is capable of developing his own style IF he hits a boxing gym and SPARS.
At least in stand up.
Dux is the real deal.
Keyboard know nothings give the guy a break!
