Socialists slapped two out of three

The Democratic Socialists have been trying to get traction in various ways lately – they came up pretty well in New York (proving that “bread and circuses” may be one of the longest lasting principles of government known) as thebesig wrote about yesterday, but two of their other stars have been bitch-slapped pretty well.

Let’s start with Jasmine Crockett, SW Dallas’…well, whatever she is. Favorite daughter doesn’t seem quite right, I’ll go with Chip’s assessment yesterday. You may recall, she had announced she was running for the top Dem slot on the House Oversight Committee.

U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett‘s bid to be the top Democrat on the U.S. House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform ended abruptly when the congresswoman announced that she dropped out of the race following a preliminary recommendation vote from her colleagues.

“Preliminary recommendation vote” – what a sweet way to say “last freakin’ place“.  Probably means her bffs on The Squad and no body else voted for her. She said it caused her “some issues.”

Without getting into specifics of what the “issue” was that played into the committee vote, Crockett explained, “Caucus politics are different from the real world.” The Grio

Yeah, adorable phrasing like “that mofo in the White House” and “Governor Wheelie” are just guaranteed to make the Republicans she would have to work with just swoon with happiness, mmmh pumpkin?  What a bimbo.

And then we get to AOC,  Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Occasional Cortex, Buck-toothed Sandy, the Peter Principle Bartender.  Ever the competitor, she somehow managed to look even more feckless and insane than Crockett’s thinking she was popular. In Sandy’s case, though, she called for President Trump’s* impeachment over the  Iran airstrikes. Must be hell when you have to get an adult to explain what the term CINC means.

“Of course, no [he should not be impeached],” the Keystone State Democrat said on “America’s Newsroom,” Monday.

“She knows it. I know it. We all know it… that’s not going anywhere. He’s been impeached twice, and now he’s still our president as well too, so it’s not going anywhere, and I don’t think [bringing it up is] helpful.” Fox News

That would be Sen. John Fetterman, who has broken with his party multiple times in recent months. Sometimes I almost think there’s a  Republican in his woodpile somewhere. But he isn’t alone…

Led by Rep. Al Green, dozens of House Democrats including Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez voted on Tuesday in favor of beginning an impeachment inquiry into Trump’s strikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities over the weekend, a move which numerous Democrats as well as Rep. Thomas Massie, a Republican, said was unconstitutional.

On Tuesday, the impeachment inquiry vote was defeated, with 128 Democrats joining all present House Republicans in voting it down. The Independent

Al Green, another shining light. In the famous words, if all their brains were gunpowder…

128 Democrats? Last place? Since Green and Crockett are (sadly) from Texas, we’ll just close by observing that legislatively effectively,  they are “all hat and no cattle.”

* I read  Ukraine has withdrawn Mr. Trump’s Nobel Peace Prize nomination since they feel he is appeasing Putin. The Telegraph.  Not to worry, Trump loyalist Rep. Buddy Carter (R, GA) and Pakistan have both renominated Trump – Carter for the Iran-Israel cease-fire Intelligencer and Pakistan for Trump’s efforts defusing India-Pakistan tensions CNN
