Weekend Open Thread

One debate retort given by some Iranians when arguing against Westerners is the idea that while their Persian ancestors were living in cities, European ancestors were running around as hunters and gatherers while etching on stones. Some, not just Iranians but others living in the Middle East, would use this as a flex and insist that they would not be “lectured” by Westerners given this ancient reality. However, this difference does not appear to help them out in situations today… Like when the Iranian fighter pilots did not know that there was an American fighter pilot under them.
