The Paul Wickre Chronicles: Paul in his own words
As the legal issues raised by this situation are evaluated and the facts investigated, for the time being TAH will not allow any more comments on any of the Wickre/Monkress/APL threads. Thank you for your patience as we work through this.
(In light of yesterday’s events at the Navy Yard, I’m publishing this so you can see what we are dealing with.)
NOTE: SHould go without saying, but behave yourself in the comments. THIS WILL BE READ BY LAW ENFORCEMENT. I want to make sure they get the threat, so don’t say something dumb. Kapiche?
We haven’t posted any updates on Paul Wickre for nearly a month now. In fact, we even went a step further and locked down the threads. I wanted to briefly explain why, and show you what we are dealing with behind the scenes. We are doing this because clearly he does not intend to stop emailing and commenting here, despite numerous entreaties that he no longer contact us.
For now, we have a great attorney helping us out. (No need to send money, we are good for now.)
His name is John D. Mason, and his law practice is “Copyright Counselors” out of….Bethesda Maryland, where Paul Wickre is located, which makes it much easier. He’s also an adjunct professor at George Mason University, where I graduated from law school. But the ironic part is, he has also worked with someone we all know and love loathe: Michael Yon. (In his defense, he also has Mike Totten as a client, so he’s one for two on those guys.)
Anyway, he’s phenomenal, and I won’t clutter this up too much praising him, because he deserves his own thread and hosannas once this is over. Suffice to say that dude has helped us immeasurably, dealing with local law enforcement, Mr. Wickre’s attorney and others. And he answers my calls and questions every time I call. So, if you are writing a book or need a literary agent, call him. If you are being sued for defamation, call him. He gets my highest recommendation across the board for legal knowledge, eagerness to help, responsiveness etc.
Anyway, yes, he’s helping us deal with local law enforcement on the ground in Maryland. Since we last talked about Wickre, things went RAPIDLY south. For obvious reasons, I am going to be somewhat circumspect here. As I was about to leave the country for Cuba, Wickre decided it was time to ramp up the physical threats. Rather than talk about them in the abstract, I am going to include some of the comments we blocked from the website, and emails we received, and let his words speak for themselves.
I perceived the threat to be real enough that I contacted three FBI field offices, my local police, and the police in Maryland. All of them have responded well, albeit somewhat slower than I would have liked, since I was headed out of the country. I got a new security system for my house, and started getting my wife to understand the basics of personal security. My father in law came down to stay with her, and to teach her some basic firearms skills. Now, my house isn’t the Alamo that Jonn has created, but I daresay we can hold out until reinforcements could arrive.
Wittgenfeld thinks we are being “pussies” for contacting the police. Ok. Then I am a pussy. But I love my wife, and didn’t want her to get beaten with a baseball bat (see below) when I wasn’t there to protect her. I haven’t included Jonn and my responses to these emails and comments, because largely all I have responded with was “do not contact us, continued emails constitute harassment.”
Where do we stand now? I’m not sure what I am at liberty to discuss. I will have updates for you as soon as developments occur. But this is only the first part of what will likely be a VERY long process. Because it is our opinion that this might go far deeper than just Paul Wickre… He continues to allege that his efforts are being bankrolled by APL and Monkress (for example: he wrote that “The litigation expense of multiple firms on this puzzle is being underwritten by the Principals as below, the Wickre Family Trust, APL and Phil Monkress.”). Which means that we are exploring the possible involvement of APL and Monkress in these threats and harassment.
For now though, I give you the threats and insanity that have been going on in the background in the form of emails and unpublished comments he has submitted to the TAH website for publication.

Defamtion per se in MD. Of the 5000 posts perhaps 3000 alledge some mental illnes or alchololism. Despite never having seen one blog person, gone through a clinical trial and no judicial comments on alcoholism, The Lilyea commentaors gain ground as under the MD per se defamtion claims, as alcoholism is in fact a loahsome disease, by the original code.
Thus every commnet in this regards is defamatory. In MD 2009,we are entitled to Brodie discovery and form individual suits to the claim of alcohol abuse.WOW- A lot of money to chase 30-40 people??? Well, if the only responses to those e-mails was, in general, “do not contact us, continued emails constitute harassment,” and psul kept at it, then who is harrassing whom? I think he’s more than a little delusional about his legal successes, but his history is in the public records for all to see. And then there’s that whole business about whether or not he’s a drunk, but his keyboard skills deteriorate by the hour, which is evidentiary. And we do, after all, have that priceless example of the post where he appears to have tried to type with his forehead or chin or something. OK, in my personal opinion, and based on what I’ve seen in the past from him, including those threats toward me in which he offered to put a bullet through my forehead, I’d have to say that psulie-o the uncoolie-o is nucking futs and should get some professional help of some kind. Some PERMANENT help. After all, I did provide him with specific instructions on how to find me, and he’s done nothing. Instead, he threatened to put a bullet through my forehead. The real problem is that he can’t scream freaking murder at the top of his lungs on a keyboard. Anyone so delusional that they can convince themselves that being ignored is some sort of threat to them simply must be taken seriously. He has manufactured a motive for outrageous behavior. As long he remains at large and has transportation and/or some other loons available, he has the means. That only leaves him needing an opportunity.

As ugly as it got, as previiously stated it’s only scratching the surface of teh crazee Jonn and TSO were exposed to.
But here is where we differ from Psulie-boi. In the literally thousands of comments here I have yet to see a single person beside Wickre threaten anyone. Oh, make no mistake–most of us here have stated in no uncertain terms their intention of defending themselves or their loved ones should someone show up some dark and stormy.
Therein lies the difference, lurkers. We have no intention of hurting anyone or throwing the first punch, so to speak. But if attacked, gloves are off.

This guy is a hoot. He claims he is the victim here, but he inserted himself into the Monkress mess. I’m sure he felt invincible as long as he could anonymously troll the thread. Then he was “outed” at to his identity and he turned up the stupidity.
He found himself in a position where he cannot control those he disagrees with or make his problem go away by using an attorney.
News flash Paul, All your tiffs with the law up until now have been nothing. Scores of people get traffic tickets and DUIs beaten everyday. It’s simply a matter of getting a lawyer who makes it clear to the DA that it’s going to be too costly for then to push the issue.
That you’ve done it multiple times simply means that you are too stupid to learn and are wasteful with the money Mommy left you.

Because we all know that there is not a more dangerous animal than one that is in a corner, and I think Psul’s mind is in a corner honestly … I feel for the people around him, I don’t think he realizes how fucked up he is, a part of me wants to say “maybe he didn’t realize what he was doing” but being honest, he surrounded himself with ppl he could bully, he enabled himself to be that way, so when he hit reality the real Psul came out hurt and from what I can gather emotionally undergrown … I’d say he has the emotional intelligence of around a 14 year old boy, but that’s my opinion and guess ..

So, in the span of roughly two months, he’s threatened you with lawsuits he knows to be frivolous, assault from the ‘worst aspects of society’, and visiting your family (and that’s just what I read. I mean, Jesus, some of it was using such poor spelling and syntax I skipped it to save myself from a headache)?
Sounds like he’ll have a real winner of a case.
The original intent of my post was to talk about ‘Meagahan’s law’. It’s not a thing. I suspect he’s talking about a law created in response to MEGAN MEIER’s death (by suicide). http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/111/hr1966 That’s it right there. You may note that it died. The only other ‘Megan’s Law’ I have ever heard of was the law requiring law enforcement to make information on sex offenders available to the public. So I don’t really see how it applies…
I’m a criminologist, and to be specific, I deal A LOT with bullying and school shootings. I’ve presented on these topics. I’ve debated on these topics. And there is no congruency between Megan Meier’s death and what I see here.
Megan Meier’s death was a tragic topic, one which I (quite by coincidence) sat through a presentation on by someone pushing for legislation in Miss Meier’s name. It involved manipulation of Megan and her emotions via a hoax account under the name ‘Josh Evans’. After a few weeks of flirting over the internet (never in person, as ‘Josh Evans’ didn’t exist), he abruptly crushed her spirits by saying that she was a bad person and he wasn’t going to be friends with her any longer. She killed herself over this devastating bit of news. It turns out that ‘Josh Evans’ was three people, one of whom was Lori Drew, neighbor and ‘helicopter mom’ who was exacting revenge for Megan having hurt her daughter’s feelings.
So yeah. That appears to be what he’s invoking here.

I really don’t want to hear anything relating to ‘shooting victims’ and this website on the evening news.

That guy, Megan Meier didn’t kill herself because some guy simply dumped her. The composite ‘guy’ went from flirting with her to completely trashing her in the course of a few weeks. In addition, it was all posted in public social sites, where everyone could see it. And this was all because the neighbor’s kid wasn’t invited to Megan’s birthday party.
This business with wickre is different. He revived a thread that had been dead for a while and launched an attack. When he was rebuffed, he went ballistic. So I can’t tell if his current episodes of screeching posts are actually about him, or if he’s just trying to scare people. I would take his threats seriously, and also make sure that everyone knows about them.
The louder he shrieks, the more nuts he seems to be.
