Our old pal Mikey is back in the news, with some wild claims from briefings held this week as troops take part in the action in Iran. While it’s not out of the ordinary for commanders to invoke God in their pep talks, the MRFF has some real doozies here that stretch the bounds of credulity.
President Trump has been anointed by Jesus to light the signal fire in Iran to cause Armageddon and mark his return to Earth.
Who hasn’t heard their CO go on an unhinged rant about how the President of the United States is the earthly personal embodiment of Jesus Christ himself and is heralding the messiah’s return to earth with a military operation to bomb the shit out of a Middle East country?

A combat-unit commander told non-commissioned officers at a briefing Monday that the Iran war is part of God’s plan and that Pres. Donald Trump was “anointed by Jesus to light the signal fire in Iran to cause Armageddon and mark his return to Earth,” according to a complaint by a non-commissioned officer.
From Saturday morning through Monday night, more than 110 similar complaints about commanders in every branch of the military had been logged by the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF).
The complaints came from more than 40 different units spread across at least 30 military installations, the MRFF told me Monday night.
The MRFF is keeping the complainants anonymous to prevent retribution by the Defense Department. The Pentagon did not immediately respond to my request for comment.
One complainant identified themselves as a non-commissioned officer (NCO) in a unit currently outside the Iran combat zone but in Ready-Support status, deployable at any time. The NCO said they were Christian and emailed the MRFF on behalf of 15 troops, including at least 11 Christians, one Muslim, and one Jew. (Full email printed below.)
The NCO wrote to the MRFF that their commander “urged us to tell our troops that this was ‘all part of God’s divine plan’ and he specifically referenced numerous citations out of the Book of Revelation referring to Armageddon and the imminent return of Jesus Christ.”
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has enshrined evangelical Christianity at the uppermost levels of the U.S. military, airing monthly prayer meetings throughout the Pentagon. Last year, the Pentagon confirmed to me that Hegseth attends a weekly White House Bible study. It’s led by a preacher who says God commands America to support Israel.
Monday’s email from the NCO said that their commander’s remarks “destroy morale and unit cohesion and are in violation of the oaths we swore to support the [C]onstitution.”
MRFF President and Founder Mikey Weinstein, a veteran of the Air Force and the Reagan White House, told me that since the U.S. and Israel attacked Iran early Saturday morning, the MRFF has been “inundated” with similar complaints

I don’t seem to remember any of my skippers evoking the holy War and Jesus into our briefings…..maybe I just had all the boring ones. Or(!) someone just realized the crap is hitting the fan and they (gasp) get deployed or have to support operations. My money is on the latter.

Mmmmmyeah, and I’m also sure that this announcement came along with a screech for donations, let’s not forget that Mikey Whinestein treats himself to about a $300K salary every year.

I’m not saying this “President Trump has been anointed by Jesus” speech actually happened, but if it did, I’m sorry I missed it. Sounds pretty entertaining. Closest thing I ever heard was my CSM telling Soldiers that everybody needs to be ready to deploy and “I don’t care if you got a note from Jesus, signed in blood. I’m gonna frame it, hang it on my wall, and admire it every day. And you’re still deploying”.
I don’t have this much time for reading abject fantasy this morning. C’mon. No shit, there we were in Fallujah 2007. Ass deep in Hajis and hand grenades and we were fresh out of hand grenades. Then, the team leader had said that this was the moment god had chosen to return to Earth, but he needed us to clear the path first of non-believers, otherwise those among us that were saved were going to heaven. He wasn’t talking about the club at Charring Cross either, at least I don’t think so, we were still in DADT in those days. I sprang into action and I grabbed my 9mm and SATCOM phone, I’m sure everyone thought I was going to call back to Ft. Bragg for an adjust fire on the air strike but nahhh… I went the harder path and called my congressperson. Busy. Wouldn’t you know it? I kept trying to get through while keeping a bead on the human wave of suicide bombers sweeping in from every side. Then I remembered! MRRF! Those guys ate religious loonies for breakfast like Cheerios…… Their hot line answered on the first ring and they immediately connected me to a conference call line where all the members of their team were waiting in the confrence room. This was their moment and they only had one chance to get it right. We needed an emergency leaflet drop, right then or else people were goin home in body bags. My soldiers needed to know that they had the right not to pray, even though later many of them told me they were praying the shit out of the day and talking to God a lot. Then in the sky it appeared, an ICBM leaflet drop, scattering them as far as the eye could see. FASCAM is for pussies, it is leaflets man. They were everywhere and printed in English, Arabic and Farsi and then IT happened. The suicide bombers began picking up the leaflets, stopped, sat down to read them and began to rethink their lives. I have nothing against Akkadians, Arabs, Arameans, Canaanites and Habesha peoples.
I have been to Israel several times and worked with the IDF while Mikey polished a chair with his ass somewhere safe and sound.
Always seem to be loons from one side or another that need to be watched, MRFF needs watched for radicalized haters more than most of the people they object to… in my humble opinion of course.
