Iranian-American tells Democrats to get over their dislike for President Trump-Must see the bigger picture
Masih Alinejad, an Iranian-American journalist, addressed Zohran Mamdani’s statements against the strikes on Iran. Alinejad called Mamdani out on his double standards, remaining silent when the Iranian regime killed over 30,000 unarmed Iranians in less than a day but then criticizing the US-Israeli strikes against Iran. Appearing together with another Iranian-American, Alinejad called on the Democratic Party to get over their dislike for President Trump in favor of seeing the bigger picture related to these strikes.

“To you, Zohran Mamdani! You stayed quiet when we have faced massacre, when Islamic Republic assassins were sent here in New York to kill us, stay quiet now! STOP lecturing us Iranians about peace,” Alinejad wrote on X. “I don’t feel safe in New York listening to someone like you, Mamdani, who sympathizes with the regime that killed more than 30,000 unarmed Iranians in less than 24 hours.”
Mamdani spoke out against the strikes on Saturday in a statement on social media.
“Today’s military strikes on Iran — carried out by the United States and Israel — mark a catastrophic escalation in an illegal war of aggression. Bombing cities. Killing civilians. Opening a new theater of war. Americans do not want this. They do not want another war in pursuit of regime change. They want relief from the affordability crisis. They want peace,” he wrote.
Alinejad referenced Mamdani’s remarks about “safety” in the city, and said “safety without justice” meant nothing.
“The people of Iran want to be free. Where were you when they needed solidarity? New York belongs to people who stand against terrorism not those who excuse it,” Alinejad continued.
Alinejad was the target of an Iranian assassination plot in 2024, as a critic of the Iranian regime.
The Iranian-American journalist spoke to CNN’s Dana Bash on Sunday alongside Moj Mahdara, an Iranian-American entrepreneur and co-founder of the Iranian Diaspora Collective.
Mahdara said Democrats needed to get over their dislike of President Donald Trump while speaking about the mixed reactions from members of the party.
“I think that it is imperative the Democratic Party wake up and get past their dislike of Donald Trump, President Trump, and their feelings of international conflicts going on. This is about national security. This is about what is possible in the Middle East. This is about being a good neighbor, good partner to the Gulf States and what their aspirations are,” she said.

Poor naive bastards.
I guess they didn’t watch or really understand the SOTU address. It’s never been about what is best for the people, the US or the world. It is about pilfering public funds and taking care of #1.
They have to oppose Trump at every turn because he is what stands between them and that. The absolute last thing it would ever be about is freedom and safety. If freedom dies, if people die to ensure Trump somehow loses in some way; all the ends justify the means.

I do find it funny that Fetterman, who is quite liberal, comes down on Trump’s policy side often. While we are miles apart on most politics I have to respect the fact that he simply doesn’t care about what the party line is and votes his conscience. He comes across as being genuine, which is something that no one else on the Democratic Side of congress does. He calls them out on their false labels and cries of racism.

Republicans in Pennsylvania can rest easy knowing that their candidate lost but the winner is someone who votes his conscience and not his party line, and Democrats have to live with knowing that the puppet they installed is now a living boy. And as a democrat, that will be the death blow to his political career. Democrats are no allowed to put people over party. Kyrsten Sinema did the same thing in AZ. During her candidacy, she was as left-wing loony as you could get. In office, she turned out to be pretty moderate and bucked the AZ Democrats a lot. Screwed herself. Too conservative for the democrats, too liberal for the Republicans even though she occasionally agreed with them. I like Fetterman, but they’re gonna run him out. And that’s a shame.
I never expected him to be the voice of reason from the Democratic Party. However, I am genuinely pleased to see it happen.
