Army shoots down eebul drone, and Texas Dem
With all the talk about the hundreds of cartel drones supposedly crossing our border (note the incident last week) it is no surprise that the Army took out another one today. Let’s ignore the fact that the last publicized incident turned out to be a mylar party balloon.
Thursday, the Army took out a suspected enemy drone near Ft. Hancock, TX and closed the surrounding airspace. Ft. Hancock, for those who don’t know, is a near neighbor (by Texas terms, only a bit over 50 miles away) of El Paso, where Ft. Blis i located, where they used down a probable laser weapon to take downthose dangerous party balloons.
Only one tiny problem. It was a drone variously described as Customs and Border Protection, or Department of Homeland Security, property. Seems the cooperation between government entities is holding right at pre-9/11 levels. And we know how THAT worked out. Wasn’t DHS set UP to help cure the lack of inter-agency communications after their lack was cited as a prime cause of 9/11?
At 6:30 p.m. local time, the Federal Aviation Administration closed the airspace, citing “special security reasons.” The FAA’s official notice of the closure currently says the closure will remain in effect until June 24.
As it turns out, the “special security reasons” involved a friendly fire incident in which the U.S. military shot down a Customs and Border Protection drone using a laser-based anti-drone system. Mediaite
In a joint statement, the Pentagon and the US Customs and Border Patrol said the incident had involved US forces employing counter-drone measures to “mitigate a seemingly threatening unmanned aerial system operating within military airspace.” Business Insider
Yeah, nothing like inter-agency communication – and sounds like that’s what they have, nothing like it.
Oh, and if you are in the El Paso area, you might want to take the rubber band from your kid’s balsa airplane. Just in case.
As long as we are on Texas – the Dems have a rising star running in the 15th District, Bobby Pulido. Some of his on-line intellectualisms from 2017:

Apparently our anti-drone weapons are significantly better than our internal comms… maybe DHS should focus on interagency coordination more than proctology exams at the airport…
What’s funny to me is that there are still Republicans who seem shocked that the left doesn’t hold their own politicians to the same standards they hold the right’s.
To the left “standards” are a means to an end, not a moral imperative. Racism, misogyny, transphobia, ableism…etc etc etc mean nothing to them in reality…those are just bludgeons they use to bash the other side. The only thing that matters to them is that the person who wins supports their agenda.
That means that if a little bit of misogyny or transphobia or even blatant criminality need to be brushed under the rug and ignored…so be it.

CBP falls under DHS. All CBP aircraft have the DHS logo on them. Soooo, both things are true. This is not interagency squabbling. The squabbling appears to be between the five sided puzzle palace and DHS.
Some of those laser weapons can shoot down drone hundreds of miles away so it isn’t like they are going to be able to see it every time. However, they should have known what it was based upon flight profile alone. I wonder if the fire control computer gave them a good analysis?

This is about the hypocrisy. I don’t run around condemning other men for the mild sexism as I have yet to see any man who doesn’t do it. With most it is more about light hearted humor when the ladies aren’t around. Yet the left tends to run around with their ridiculous virtue signalling. At least until they get caught. Then they pretend like it never happened, if it is one of their chosen. Which, they have yet to realize, doesn’t just make them hypocrites, but also makes their followers look stupid.
