‘Gun jugging’: Man shoots suspect after robbers follow his car from gun range in SW Houston
2 suspects on the run after ditching car at the scene
Houston police are investigating a shootout that left one suspect injured after an attempted jugging near a gun range in southwest Houston.
Houston Police Department officials called the incident an attempted “gun jugging.”
According to HPD, officers were called to the 5300 block of Rampart in the South Gessner area after reports of a shooting.
Investigators say a man had just left a nearby gun range and was driving home when he was followed by three suspects.
Police said the suspects attempted to rob the man and grabbed a bag containing guns. The victim was armed with two guns, and a shootout ensued involving multiple firearms. During the exchange, the victim shot one of the suspects in the chin area.
The suspect who was shot was transported to a hospital and is expected to survive. Police have not released details about the suspect’s condition or whether any weapons were recovered.
The two other suspects abandoned their car at the scene and fled before officers arrived. No other injuries were reported.

Really really poor victim selection skills here. Hat tip to Graybeard for the link.
Reporters today are far removed from America’s founding values and are alarmed and contemptuous of gun owners as dangerous lower classes. — HENRY ALLEN, WASHINGTON POST
Speaking of the Washington Post, seems they’ve done some restructuring.

Those WaPo entitled tards displayed exactly why they were “let go”.
Hell, I have done the exact same thing with targeted layoffs at my previous job.
Keep your head down and no one can take a shot at you.
Dumb-asses.
As you said, poor victim selection skills.
Accosting a person who just left a gun range? Not thinking that he just might have loaded guns on him? Yeah, y’all deserve to get shot. And in the chin? At minimum, that’s going to make having a solid meal difficult. Good weight loss program though, sucking shakes through a straw.
As for the missing two, they should be easy to find. Just follow the yellow and brown trail down the street.
Right to work? (Snicker)
That’s a new one to me. I can see it happening as a means of getting more guns, but as those 3 found out, it might not be the safest way to do so. Maybe they saw the guy shoot and figured he wasn’t a threat. They thunk wrong apparently.
Reading another officer’s statement, it appears that ‘gun jugging’ is not an unknown phenomenon in Harris County.
They may have been thinking that all his guns were in the bag. One range I frequent requires all firearms to be unloaded except on the range itself. In the store they must be empty.
I unload just before I go in, and immediately upon getting back in my truck – but maybe others don’t?
Good reason to have more than one carry gun available – shoot one at the range and have the other available as needed, so to speak..
