Suspect shot and killed after robbery outside Green Hills Mall, other suspect in custody
(UPDATE: Feb. 4, 7:50 p.m.) — A robbery suspect was shot and killed outside of Green Hills Mall on Tuesday, leading to the closure of a portion of I-65 North.
According to Metro Police, a male shopper exited the mall carrying shopping bags from Louis Vuitton. The shopper was then confronted by two people driving around the mall parking lot in a Tesla. Police suspect they were searching to find a victim to rob.
Once the shopper reached their car, the suspects in the Tesla pulled up next to him. The passenger, Omari Moore, 30, then exited the Tesla with what appeared to be a pistol with an extended magazine.
Moore and the shopper engaged in a short struggle, where Moore was able to take the bags from the victim. Afterward, the two suspects drove off with the shopper chasing after them. The shopper then allegedly threw the extended magazine at the car, where it was later recovered by police.
Shortly after, shots were fired, leading to the Tesla’s driver being wounded. Moore told police he did not know when the driver was shot or how it happened. He also refused to say where they were before the crash.
Despite his wounds, the driver attempted to enter I-65 North but instead lost control and crashed into a tree off the entrance ramp. He was taken to Vanderbilt Medical and died shortly after.
The shopper then left the scene, but police are asking for the public’s help in finding him in order to finish the investigation. Authorities, as of now, are not considering him as a suspect and do believe this altercation was random and not targeted.
Moore has been charged with aggravated robbery and unlawful gun possession by a convicted felon. He was previously convicted in Nashville of burglary and felony theft in 2022 and received a two-year sentence. He also has convictions for felony theft and evading arrest in Henderson County.
The circumstances of how the driver was fatally shot remain under investigation.

Two 13-year-olds shot while trying to steal car in Southwest Philadelphia: Police
PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Two teenagers were shot Tuesday during an attempted car theft incident in Southwest Philadelphia.
It happened around 6:13 p.m. on the 5900 block of Windsor Street.
When officers arrived they found two 13-year-old shooting victims. One was shot in the leg and the other was shot in the lower back.
Both teens were taken to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in stable condition.
The man who fired the shots was allegedly trying to thwart a car theft.
According to Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small, the man got a call from a neighbor stating that four juveniles appeared to be breaking into his Honda.
When the man confronted the juveniles, police say one of them pulled out a gun.
“We’re not certain right now if that one juvenile who pulled the gun fired any shots. We don’t know at this time. That’s when the owner of the vehicle pulled his weapon and fired, we believe seven shots, striking the two 13-year-olds,” Small said.
The other two juveniles fled on foot but were later picked up by police nearby and positively identified by the vehicle owner as being involved,” said Small.
Police say the juveniles could face attempted auto theft, robbery, weapons and attempted carjacking charges.

NICE!
Mr. Moore seems to be doing more of his nefarious activities. If he doesn’t change his evil ways he may end up more like his driver and be unable to do more nefarious activities.
“…two 13-year-old shooting victims.” *victims* sigh Victims of their own teh stoopidity in their victim selection skilz. They probably just needed a ride to choir practice.
The times they be a’changing…we’re gonna try to save the Soul of our Country.
Just because it “looks” like a 1911…doesn’t mean it IS a 1911.
Gots a visit with my Ms Chancre Mechanic Thang this morning. Maybe she can validate my warranty card and/or extend my “best by date”.
Why hath they profaned his great gift?!
“Low is he who changeth thine gift in the name of performance…”
“Thow shalt not hangeth untidy appliances in which to improve performance… one needeth only practice to improve thy grace.”
“Thow shalt not change the caliber for thy own needs… what is good is given, and one only need practice to become saintly.” “The devil believes that multiple calibers are required, and one should alter thy gifts, in order to please thineself.”
“Thow shalt not create other false images in thy name. I giveth to you this gift in the holy year and it so shall it be named. No model is named as it is good, and useful, and so shall it remain. Change not they name of thine gift, for the devil to be pleased and so pleases him.”

The first story is from TN from a brief look up of the mall name. I would think the Police would be able to ID the theft victim if they recovered the property and the sales receipt. He may be in some legal difficulty due to having chased the thieves before things turned to lethal force.
The other give away, was taking him to Vanderbilt University Hospital.
Wonder if Mr. Moore was demonstrating to his driver how the gun could still fire even though the victim removed the magazine? Anyone remember the scene from Pulp Fiction with Samuel Jackson’s character waiving the weapon around (man I just cringed every time he did it)…then it actually happened on the screen!
