Store manager shoots knife-wielding man in Kansas City: court documents

Nick Sloan
KANSAS CITY, Mo. —
A store manager used self-defense during an incident involving a knife-wielding individual inside a Kansas City business, according to court documents.

Kansas City police responded to a shooting on Jan. 26, 2025, at a store near East 11th Street and Grand Boulevard.

Officers found Marcus Webb, who had sustained two gunshot wounds, lying on the floor.

The store manager told police he acted in self-defense after Webb allegedly attacked him with a knife.

Security footage showed Webb jumping over the counter with a knife, according to charging documents.

A witness at the scene, who was in the store with a child, said the manager’s actions may have prevented harm to others.

Earlier in the day, Webb had been asked to leave the store following an altercation, court documents state.

Schmuck Shot at Schnucks, and I hope it hurts. Thanks again Gun Bunny.

An enemy of liberty is no friend of mine. I do not owe respect to anyone who would enslave me by government force, nor is it wise for such a person to expect it.

Ho hum.
Another day, another knife-to-a-gunfight.
Was Marcus Webb able to call Dr Marcus Welby MD after he was shot?

Only time one should take a knife to a gunfight is when one has a bayonet attached to a boom stick.

I doubt if Dr. Welby will prescribe Pepto for the perp’s tummy ache. Too bad the citizen didn’t give the perp a terminal headache.

It’s not wise for anyone to expect me to be enslaved by government force. “Live free…Die Well”

I used to have a C96 in 9×25 Mauser Export. It’s in the .357 neighborhood and was quite a handful.
It came with a bunch of brass that was expertly converted to Boxer priming from Berdan

I have one in 9mm. I was surprised to find it is the most accurate semi-automatic pistol I own. But it is a pain to load with stripper clips.

RCAF-CHAIRBORNE

That’s the great thing about C96 clips. 7.65×21, 9×19, 9×25….they all have the same case head and the same clips.
You can even use 7.62×25 Tokarev strippers.
I also used to have a Chinese Shanxi .45ACP C96. It came with 3 clips. Original Spares were about $50 each.
It’s bore was so rough, I had to handload hollow base .455 Webley bullets just so it could engage the tiny bit of rifling left.
I wish I had it relined instead of selling it.

Good to see that the reporter in the Schnucks incident used the correct language to describe the individuals involved.

Could the pursued have saved himself by using, say, aisle 8? Inquiring minds etc.
