President Trump ordering 30,000-person facility in Guantánamo for illegal aliens

| January 29, 2025 | 31 Comments

President Donald Trump intends to send violent, dangerous, illegal aliens to Guantánamo. Trump is set to sign an executive order calling on the Department of Defense and Department of Homeland Security to prepare a 30,000-person facility in Guantánamo Bay, Cuba.

Approximate Transcript:

Today I am also signing an executive order to instruct the Departments of Defense and Homeland Security to begin preparing the 30,000-person migrant facility at Guantánamo Bay, most people don’t even know about it. We have 30,000 beds in Guantánamo to detain the worst criminal illegal aliens threatening the American people, some of them are so bad we don’t even trust the countries to hold them. Because we don’t want them coming back, so were going to send them out to Guantánamo. This will double our capacity immediately right and tough. That’s a tough, that’s a tough place to get out of.

Today’s signings bring us one step closer to eradicating the scourge of migrant crime in our communities once and for all. And it was just a purely, is just an unforced era (?) That…

IDK…
Can’t we just send them back? I mean I don’t want to pay to warehouse the worst of the worst of the 3rd world. If this just a processing station on the way back to their home country then, yes. It can NOT become a final destination.

Green Thumb

Something like that.

Three hots and a cot for the bad guys and then we have to listen to the whining of every civil rights organization on the planet. Badly needed Marines become prison guards and get subjected to abuse. Hard pass, terrible idea.

Every country needs a place to toss the real baddies but a super max is just as good.

USAF E-5

supermax cost is 14.4$ B/year, Gitmo 540m$/yr. That’s not a hard call to make. sources (https://www.hrw.org/news/2022/05/04/high-cost-guantanamos-forever-prisoners https://lao.ca.gov/reports/2023/4686/CDCR-Budget-021623.pdf

HANO Flights.

Hank Johnson will vote against this. He wouldn’t want Cuba to capsize.

If we balance the load properly, it won’t capsize. It’ll just sink.

It might be just the place to keep Gang and Drug Cartel Kingpins cooped up!

Not that I am a conspiracy theorist or anything, but there might be a high number of “escapees” from that location. They were there at bed check, and then were not at the first formation…. “Sir, we looked for them, but we can’t say for certain how they got out and we were unable to locate any identifiable body… We will adjust out SOP in the future!”

What time does the tide go out?

Dude, seriously, where the hell are they going to go? Three ways off that place – air/ship, across the wire into Cuba and swim. I am glad you’re not a conspiracy theorist.

Sorry, MI R, didn’t get your sarcasm until now hence the reason for my bonehead comment above. Totally missed it. Duh.

TDA, come and enjoy a relaxing and romantic getaway to lovely GITMO.

I hope Trump hits up the home countries of these people to pay their room and board. He can just withhold the aid money we send pretty much all of these countries, but I bet he has already thought of that.

Skivvy Stacker

Those guys who were laughing and flipping the bird, the ones who jumped the NY Cops, the ones who took over the “handful” of apartments in Colorado, and the ones who have been making our streets more dangerous than a war zone are all going to start sweating blood as soon as they realize they’re going to Gitmo as TERRORISTS, and will never see the outside of a prison again. And in spite of the fact that this prison is located in a latin country, they won’t be the ones in charge.

Green Thumb

And we ( the US Taxpayer) will be paying for it.

In many ways.

I don’t like it.
The next Drat administration will just release them all. They will effectively be in jail just as long as the MAGA faction of the Republitard Party is in power. The moment the Drats or the Rinos unseat MAGA, whoever is in Gitmo will walk. We need a better, and permanent, solution to the illegal immigration crime.

I thought the plan was to hold them at Gitmo to isolate the hardest criminals from Americans on the mainland and sort them out for deportation if they had trouble determining where exactly they came from.

I wonder how many of them are repeat border crossers. 🤔

Who’s going to take them to Cuba? USN? USCG? MSC chartered ferry? USAF airlift? Who cares? Who’s going to manage the camp? SOUTHCOM? GTMO Commander? DoJ?Homeland? Do you think the jail cells where the terrorists are kept is large enough to hold all these people? GP Medium tents and porta-poopers on the Windward side? What happens to all this human refuse when a hurricane rolls over the top of them? Does anybody care? Who feeds them, removes their poop and other waste while they await to return to wherever they are from? Oh, I’ve got a idea, let’s move a whole bunch of displaced illegals to a hostile place (eating breakfast 300 yards from 4000 Cubans who are trained to kill me) that has rickety ass Cold War infrastructure, has all it’s food delivered by barge and has to make its own fresh water. Sounds like a 21st century version of the Cuban refugee disaster that took place under the bridges in Miami during the Mariel Boatlift in the late 70’s. Hey, at least we got Tony Montana in that deal.

Ahhh, those pesky details you say – you know, the Rumsfeldian known knowns. I’m sure the details will have already been worked out before any Mexican, Venezuelan or El Salvadorian lands in my personal paradise – Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. GTMO does offer an active airfield and some piers. Sadly though, I am sure the banana rat and land crab populations are probably going to go down quite a bit with the illegal’s arrival. Why not park the illegals in camps in West Texas or South Arizona? Easier to manage them, from soup to nuts. Oh, I forgot, the people in those states would probably lose their marbles and complain.

Here’s an idea, let’s move them all to a camp in Antartica. Logistically it’s probably not that much harder than GTMO and they can eat as many penguins as they want while they wait to be repatriated.

W2

Disregard the above. I didn’t research the full story before shooting off my cake hole. I thought it was all illegals, not just the criminals and gang members. Read before you run your mouth. I will say I still don’t like them heading to my personal paradise though. You ever been there, or stationed there, or been able to fish from there you’ll know what I mean.

W2

I think they should also be rounding illegals that work on farms as well as workers in meat packing plants in the midwest. Those people should be plenty easy to catch. Everybody means everybody.

W2

The above is a true statement though. Nobody gets to take our jobs.

Guess we’re due. That’s what was promised. Everybody.

I’d bet the workers in colorado packing plants are something on the order of 80%+ illegals.. not just south of the border ones, but lots of somali’s too.. Yeah, it’d be pretty damn easy to round em up there (at least some of the plants are also run by china.. hmmm…)

I remember when I lived in GA during the mid to late 90’s and it seemed about once a year the BP would raid the carpet mills up in Dalton!

The one aspect I do appreciate about all the hoopla lately is it will serve to weaken executive power, which has been far too powerful since 9/11. We need to dial it back several notches and a lot of these ideas will serve to do just that.
