By Chris Finch
NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – New Orleans police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred late Saturday night in the 4100 block of Iberville Street in Mid-City.

An initial police report indicates that around 11:43 p.m., an unknown man shot another man. The victim that was struck, shot back, hitting the gunman.

Both men then traveled separately to area hospitals by private vehicles, police said.

While being treated, the person who police say fired the first shot succumbed to his injuries. The condition of the other victim is unknown at this time.

Could have shared the ride and saved some gas money. Thanks, Gun Bunny.

If the guy died in the vehicle on the way to the hospital, could the driver still use the HOV lane?

It’s Naw’lins, so…I’m gonna go with the “usual suspects” doing the “usual thing”. We were told that taking down all of the Monuments would make that kind of behavior go away. *sigh*

Don’t fear The Reaper…or the grubermint.

As reported in the past, before that tragic boat accident there may and/or may not have been a reproduction of Mr. Sharps 1859 Carbine, in .54 Caliber, holding a Place of Honor @ Fire Base Magnolia. Accurate as all hell and fun to play with. Damn a leaky boat!!

At least you had one.
I have wanted one for some time.
Darn leaky boats…

Interesting news/site, Graybeard. Thanks for thinking of me. Wouldn’t mind having a piece of history, but would be leery of dropping that kinda coinage, sight unseen. Now…iffen I could go to the physical location and cherry pick one…

Got some buds in the business that keep an eye out on such gems for me. They buy a lot of “Estate Sales” type collections and refurb work. That’s how I got a deal on the Colt Commando in .38 from WWII Times. And such a bargain for the Kimber Custom LW.

Back in my younger days the two shooters would have taken a shot of whiskey at the local saloon, rid off on their horses, and tipped their hats to each other…and the whole thing wouldn’t have wound up as a single word in the local paper…unless someone wanted to print a opitcherary later on for one what went boot toes up.
