Las Vegas and New Orleans attackers identified as Army veterans

| January 2, 2025 | 113 Comments

Shamsud-Din Jabbar, 42, the man involved with the New Orleans attack, served in the U.S. Army from 2007 through 2020. Prior to 2007, Jabbar enlisted in the Navy but did not make it beyond the delayed entry program. Jabbar served on active duty from 2007 through 2015. He spent the balance of the time in the Army Reserve.

From Task & Purpose:

“Shamsud-Din Bahar Jabbar was in the regular Army as a Human Resource Specialist (42A) and Information Technology (IT) Specialist (25B) from March 2007 until January 2015 and then in the Army Reserve as an IT Specialist (25B) from January 2015 until July 2020,” a defense official said. “He deployed to Afghanistan from February 2009 to January 2010. He held the rank of Staff Sergeant at the end of service.”

His awards include three Army Commendation Medals, four Army Achievement Medals, two Army Good Conduct Medal, the Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with campaign star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, two Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbons, the Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Army Reserve Component Overseas Training Ribbon, NATO Medal, two Meritorious Unit Commendations, the Parachutist Badge, and the Driver and Mechanic Badge.

Meanwhile, Matthew Livelsberger, 37, was identified as the driver for the Tesla Cybertruck that exploded in Las Vegas. Livelsberger was on leave from Germany when he prepared for and carried out the attack. Livelsberger’s LinkedIn profile lists 19 years in the Army, of which 18 years was spent with the special forces.

From The Telegraph:

Matthew Livelsberger has been named locally as the driver of the electric vehicle that blew up in the valet area outside the Trump International Hotel.

Livelsberger, a 37-year-old from Colorado, is thought to have rented the Cybertruck from Turo, a car leasing service, before packing it with firework-style mortars, camping fuel and canisters.

He was serving in Germany but was on leave in Colorado at the time of the attack, sources told CBS.

A relative told the broadcaster they were unaware of his involvement in the incident but confirmed he had rented a Cybertruck.

His wife had not heard from him in several days.

An intelligence and operations specialist, Livelsberger claimed on his LinkedIn profile that he spent 19 years in the army, 18 of those with the special forces.

The military is a reflection of the population of the country. Sh*tbirds are everywhere. Good thing we have weeded out all of the radical white toxic males out of there or we would have real problems. Or has the weeding out of those types why we have a problem of terrorist attacks? I’m sure there will be more to come. After all only 18 days left till the Bad Orange Man becomes the dictator.

MarineDad61

KoB,
It’s nothing new.

  • What we today call “shitbirds” have been in and around every war and conflict in the USA, in uniform and as street clothing civilians, since the Revolutionary War.
  • What we today call “Stolen Valor” has been around in documented real numbers since the Civil War, and in fact earlier, ALSO back to the Revolutionary War, as evidenced by the town of Shartlesville, PA, founded by an alleged “Colonel Peter Shartle”. It only took over 2 centuries and a 21st century regional investigation, to prove that there is NO record of Peter Shartle ever serving in any military or militia, no less as a “Colonel”. Farmer Peter Shartle pulled a Colonel Tom Parker on the local farmers, woodsmen, and citizens at the edge of the Appalachian Mountains in colonial Pennsylvania, and got away with it.
Shartlesville-Sign-Col-Peter-Shartle-1
Jimbojszz

the sign should have an asterisk on it. And another sign below that says “Stolen Valor”

MarineDad61

Jimbojszz,
Oh, it’s tempting.
There are 3 of these old cast signs on the approaches into this small town. All 3 are different.
The above is the “scratched off” (top) sign.
This is 1 of the 2 others, the “Hamburg – 8” sign.
There is also a “Strausstown – 5” topped sign.
All 3 have tapered poles, so stringing up anything is easy.

I’ve got a hacksaw…

RCAF-CHAIRBORNE

The Shart part is very fitting

Commissar

The Cyber Truck suicide was not a shit bird.

He was a veteran with mental health issues and political anger.

He did not intend to take anyone with him.

RGR 4-78

He did not intend to take anyone with him.”

And you know this how?

rgr769

He is a mind reader for fellow travelers suffering from TDS.

E.conboy

Heard it from the grapevine…

A Proud Infidel®™

YOU show an awful lot of political anger here as well, anyone keeping an eye out on you, Major Moonbat?

RGR 4-78

“The Cyber Truck suicide was not a shit bird.”

I am absolutely going to disagree, most of us here could have done the same thing he did, hell, there are some that could have used the same things to a much greater harm, but none of us have or will because we are not shitbags.

SFC D

I’d say shooting yourself then blowing yourself up places you squarely in the shit bird camp.

Skivvy Stacker

He did not intend to take anyone with him.”

In that case he should not have parked in a public space where he was endangering anyone who might come walking out the door of that hotel, or coming along the sidewalk, or arriving to check in…don’t you think?
Please!

A Proud Infidel®™

That’s just it SS, Major Moonbat doesn’t think for himself at all, he just parrots whatever he is fed to the crowd he tries to hang out withwhat he thinks they want to hear.

Agreed– got a little meme for him:

“He did not intend to take anyone with him.”

Those of us with some military experience know that an explosive device, being an AREA TYPE WEAPON, will kill or wound anyone within a certain distance. If he had not intended to harm anyone else he would have stopped with shooting himself and not used explosives.

SFC D

“He did not intend to take anyone with him.”

Is there any other reason to detonate a bomb in a hotel entrance? I guess it was just for special effects after he suicided. Your fraud strength has grown in your absence. You’re dismissed.

Amateur Historian

He was in 19 years and he decided to BBQ himself so close to retirement while on leave. Have you ever heard that one bad decision can undo decades of honorable service. There was also a possibility someone could’ve gotten hurt or worse because of the manner he decided to go out. So, yes, shit-bird.

Anonymous

Comes home on leave, from Germany, to do… this. If he had a round-trip ticket, something’s f*cked.

Anonymous

He’s THAT pissed over Trump and Elon working together? Why? What’s his motive?

Sailorcurt

Yea…in todays “kinder, gentler military” I have to wonder if this dude was a leftist and did this in protest of Trump and Elon’s commitment to MAMGA (Making America’s Military Great Again).

Further I wonder if we’ll ever really find out. If he did leave behind any writings, manifestos or even just clues as to why he did it, if it doesn’t fit the narrative, the FBI’s still got, what, 18 days now? To get rid of the evidence.

Anonymous

My Commandant of Cadets in ROTC what a pinko Jane Fonda fan– a creepy little man who felt he (closet peacefreak) knew better than everyone else. Don’t sound like this guy.

E.conboy

The one with the teeth…Is that AOC?

Graybeard

From something else I read, Shamsud-Din Bahar Jabbar only converted to The Religion of Pieces within the last two, three years.
The mosque in Houston which he attended has advised all members to refer any questioning by the FBI to CAIR.
Both men spent time at Ft. Bragg about the same time – but that is so common as to be innocuous.

Not a good visual, though.

A Proud Infidel®™

“The mosque in Houston which he attended has advised all members to refer any questioning by the FBI to CAIR.”

Way to pass the buck, 24K chickenshit IMHO!

Fyrfighter

Not just chickenshit, but covering shit up as well. Definitely some complicity there, and now hiding behind “racism”

Jimbojszz

I’m curious as to the Vegas bomber committing suicide or just a dumb ass with fireworks and fuel in an electric vehicle. Need more info.

Graybeard

He was identified as an active duty Special Forces Sgt.

SFC D

Just a thought, but I’d expect an SF type to know how to produce a bigger boom.

RGR 4-78

I agree.

Low grade conflagration, not truly an explosion.

RGR 4-78

I should have said deflagration versus detonation.

timactual

Depends on how the type of firework. Assuming black powder was used, it explodes quite well when properly packaged.

RGR 4-78

I posted a picture of the back of the truck below; it is laying loose in the bed of the truck.

Anonymous

Even the fictional Rambo knew better:

rgr769

It is commonly compacted into pipe bombs. A pound of it would likely make a hell of a blast, based upon what I have seen when just fired as blanks in Civil War artillery pieces.

timactual

“The rockets red glare
the bombs bursting in air…”

Plain old black powder was an explosive long before Alfred Nobel invented dynamite.

Anonymous

McVeigh, who couldn’t even make the cut, made a sh*load better bomb.

A Proud Infidel®™

That coward used ANFO instead of powder.

timactual

I suspect their standards may have slipped a bit over the years.

rgr769

I only had about three days’ worth of explosives training at the old Special Forces Officer Course, and I could have rigged a more powerful and damaging explosion. Especially if I had access to some C-4 and blasting caps. I hope his brain survived the fire and gunshot sufficiently for a pathologist to take a serious look at what is left of his brain. Something made him go nuts, and I don’t think it was a recent conversion to radical Islam.

MarineDad61

Jimbojszz,
It’s clear from online revelations,
that the Las Vegas Cybertruck BBQ and his wife
are both Trump haters, with old TDS posts and video out there.

Sure seems like his final poignant / pungent statement to make,
using a Musk Tesla Cybertruck at the front doors of a Trump hotel.

Trouble is,
he was too stupid to realize that the stainless steel construction of the Cybertruck would create his last BBQ, and little more.
Then again, using an aluminum Ford F-150 would have been much more successful, but fail to make the Trump / Musk connection, unless he had flags and other bling going on, like the New Orleans nutjobber.

See the BBQ chef and his wifey here….. including video.

https://x.com/ImMeme0/status/1874710073475547176

Jimbojszz

TDS, that puts my thoughts in the direction of planned chaos. Too stupid to exit the vehicle before the shit show started.

Fyrfighter

Correction there MD61, his wife IS a Trump hater, he WAS one..

MarineDad61

Fyrfighter,
In the coming days,
we may be hearing from bereaved BBQ wifey.

After all, she may have dirty hands in this.
She can now either pull a political grandstanding stunt,
or wring and/or wash her hands,
and play innocent widow now in need of sympathy and understanding (and possibly a GoFundMe).

comment image

Fyrfighter

Don’t disagree MD, I was just pointing out that he isn’t anything, other than worm food at this point, whatever he may have been before.

OAM

The Squad and the Blue Hair Freaks will hail her as a martyr to their cause(s). Waiting for her to be trotted out as the grieving Gold Star widow. For the record, she is NOT a Gold Star and there will be plenty who will throw hands over that.

Why was he on leave? Did he have a ticket back to Germany?

What was “the argument” with her at Christmas? Is there a Jody or did she join the 4B’s and this was his ultimate simp move to prove his love and worthiness to her?

Was he set up and used for a political statement and it wasn’t all self inflicted? And by whom?

A connection to the NOLA terrorist may look the least likely, if what his family says about him is true…which generates all these questions. No question mental illness is there, as suicide and attempted homicide/terrorism is proof of mental illness but the choice, manner and even the question of self infliction certainly speaks to some kind of message.

I do mourn for his family and offer them sincere condolences. I pray they get the answers. And they get to tell the truth, and be heard. 19 days and counting.

Fyrfighter

Most recent info says the lefty chicken above is the ex, that current wife kicked him out for cheating.. still leaves a lot of conflicting info. No faith at all in the feebs figuring out what happened, or if rhey do, actually telling us the truth..

Sam

People are making comments about the Ukrainian Nazi shirt he’s wearing in one of those picture.

But it may have just been a souvenir he picked up in a t-shirt store.

rgr769

Maybe he came back from Germany for X-mas and discovered Jody had been banging wifey. He was so distraught, he decided to off himself in blaze of glory, demonstrating to his TDS infected woman that he could make a serious public demonstration of his insipient Trump and Musk hatred. Now that is dedication to the cause. Yeah, that’s the ticket.

SgtM

She got that crazy eye, but it seems a nice rack.

A Proud Infidel®™

He also looks like he has a stripped gear or two IMO.

KoB

IDC Sarc would hit it.

Fyrfighter

There was at least one article mentioning that he had a fight with the wife, and she hadn’t heard from him in a few days… So definitely possible.

rgr769

According to wife no. 2, she accused him of infidelity. Unfortunately, this geographical bachelor behavior was quite common with married SF officers and NCO’s back in my day. So, I suspect that is still true today.

QMC

Was Livelsberger an actual Green Beret or just a data/tech support guy for Green Beret units?

Hearing conflicting stories on that.

rgr769

Yes, he was, and he spent most of his service in Army Special Forces units. Primarily the 10th SFG(A) at Ft. Carson, CO and its separate battalion in Germany.

A Proud Infidel®™

So was Livelsberger a recent convert to the religion of pieces, a whacko lefty, or both? And WTF is in the water there at Fort Bragg?

rgr769

Nothing, the water is fine. For all we know, he may have been suffering from TBI or some other brain ailment. We could go Gropey Joe and blame it on burn pits in the sandbox.

Amateur Historian

So what I’ve been able to gather, the attack by the terrorist of the religion of pieces and the “attack” of the SF Shit-bird human BBQ are not connected (one’s a fake religion psycho and the other’s a TDS head case). Coincidental timing?

Last edited 2 days ago by Amateur Historian
A Proud Infidel®™

IMHO one thing is for sure about Livelsberger, and it’s that he decided to be a big Trump Acceptance Resistance Disorder Operative, a TARDO when he BBQ’ed himself, I’m just happy that no one else was killed or injured in that harebrained stunt!

Amateur Historian

Heh, TARDO 😆

SgtM

Wonder if he rubbed himself with butter and seasoning salt before he lit himself on fire.

A Proud Infidel®™

Maybe from here on out we ought to refer to Livelsberger as “ex-MSG Crispycritter”?

RCAF-CHAIRBORNE

The cannibals that ate Biden’s uncle would have enjoyed some butter and seasoning

rgr769

Except, in reality, Uncle Bosey did a deep dive into Davey Jones’s locker. He was food for sea life, not Papuan cannibals.

A Proud Infidel®™

This came from a Daily Mail article that MarineDad61 posted:

“His second wife’s new husband, Dwayne Marsh, said Jabbar had begun to convert to Islam within the last year and was ‘being all crazy,’ reported The New York Times.”

Gee whiz, happenstance? Coincidence?

Slow Joe

What are the SF channels saying about Matthew Livesberger?
He claimed to be a 18z. That’s a E8 or E9.
Did he make it that far without anyone noticing any crazy violent political activism?

Claw

Yef, he was a Master Sergeant. He was first a Commo Puke, then a Drone Operator, but he does have two Bronze Stars (one with a “V”), a CIB and an ARCOM w/V.

SgtM

I wonder if “Wow I could have retired in a year, had a good paycheck coming in, had medical etc. Lived a few decades and then burnt down Trumps library when I get old” flashed through his mind as he was roasting.

Jimbojszz

I just read that the dude committed suicide just before the explosion. Mental health problems and TDS.

A Proud Infidel®™

He WAS a Master Sergeant, now he’s a “Crispy Critter”!

Hack Stone

Fuckin’ Comm Pukes. When we are not filling the brig quota, we go around telling everyone how we scored so high on the ASVAB. 🥴

Commissar

It is pissing me off the media keeps trying to draw links between these two attacks.

They are clearly unrelated.

The fact that they used the same app will millions of users is nonsense. Them both being veterans and serving in Afghanistan is also nonsense connections.

The New Orleans attack was an ISIS theorist. It was intended as a mass casualty event.

The Trump tower Cyber Truck explosion was a political grievance suicide. And it doesn’t appear he wanted to create other casualties besides himself.

A Proud Infidel®™

WOW, you sure do know everything, don’t you? How’s about you looking for some meds to help you with those anger issues?

Hack Stone

Welcome back. We were worried that it may have been you behind the wheel.

A Proud Infidel®™

Ooh, SMASH!

timactual

“We were worried…”

Got a mouse in your pocket?

Blaster

😂😂😂

RCAF-CHAIRBORNE

Then….why didn’t he just drive into the desert or a vacant lot to hibachi himself?
He was obviously making a statement and didn’t give a shit about the safety of others.
The truck didn’t just drive itself to Trump’s hotel.
Actually……it could have. But it would require human input

rgr769

I still think this was a demo of his commitment and love for his wife who is infected with the TDS. He certainly went out in a blaze, even if no glory.

Amateur Historian

Well, I agree with you in that they MIGHT be unrelated, but the rest of your conclusions (aside from the New Orleans one) on the attacks that literally just happened yesterday may be conjecture.

timactual

You should pay less attention to the media. Or official government statements, for that matter. Allow at least a week for the dust to settle and the media, government officials, etc. to get their heads out of their respective asses.

“They are clearly unrelated.”

We’ll see.

Fyrfighter

Well, the DEI hire fib agent in NO said it was NOT a terrorist incident.. that comment didn’t age well.. so there’s that..

timactual

As low as my opinion of the FBI is these days, that comment really surprised me. Even I know enough to say “It’s too soon in the investigation to draw any conclusions”, or some other version of “no comment” that is a standard statement. Total incompetence.

Fyrfighter

agreed

Forest Bondurant

Too bad you weren’t in either location with your med kit to render aid to these morons who had the same proclivities to violence as your other pals on the liberal left.

SgtM

Now he is going to start carrying around a fire extinguisher.

SFC D

He only provides support to antifa types.

Fyrfighter

antifa – ISIS… is there really that big a difference??

Anonymous

Naw.

SFC D

Nothing is clear until the investigation is complete. It’s likely there is no connection. It’s also likely you’re a fraud. We know that’s true, you’ve proven it repeatedly. You may go now.

A Proud Infidel®™
Fyrfighter

Still trying to figure out how a local reporter managed to show up at the NO scums Texas residence well before the ” top men” from.the fib did… wouldn’t you think that a ” world.class” law enforcement agency with offices nationwide would have been able to figure out where he lived, and get there first?

Then again, maybe the Houston office is similar to the one in NO.. and of course, we already know the level of competence at the top of that and other three letter agencies..

A Proud Infidel®™

AS TO the NOPD, that Department has been awarded the title of “Most Corrupt Police Department” more than once!

Blaster

I graduated college with a BS in Criminal Justice, and lived about8 hours from NOLA. We had the NO PD come all the way to our graduation practice to attempt to recruit us. Trying to get away from so much corruption, they were going way outside their local area to fill the ranks.

rgr769

The fan belt inspectors love to give the fake news the heads up when something newsworthy and camera focused is about to occur. How did the TV news vans know to go to Roger Stone’s house at 3:00 am? Or, any of their other high-profile ops.

MustangCryppie
A Proud Infidel®™

I first watched that some years ago and still LMAO every time i see it!

ChipNASA

I’m not gonna go dig up for it, but there’s social media that’s showing that our green beret was an anti-Trump TDS shit bag, while multiple media outlets UK India, United States all have him as, a massive patriot with flag, tattoos and eagle, tattoos, and a massive Trump supporter.

Now, which one do I believe? 🤔

ChipNASA

I’m calling it right here right now…

CAGE MATCH BETWEEN MARK L. & COMMIETZAR!!!!

Jimbojszz

I m wondering if M L is related to the commieczar? Father and son? Or inmates at the same facility?

A Proud Infidel®™

OR Mark L. is the sockpuppet of Lars aka Commissar aka Major Moonbat?

SgtM

They will be butt fucking each other in fifteen minutes, neither has been laid. All that anger has never had a release. At least Commisar admits service and provides details, hell we know who he is. Marky Marky the get butt fucked bunch, just says stuff anyone who is a troll could gleam off military sites. I have provided enough stuff to find me if you wanted too. Pretty much we all have.

A Proud Infidel®™

IMHO little Markie-boy talks like a damned sub-par Barracks lawyer who has a streak of Article 15s in his past.

Marine0331

Yeah, he is one of two things…either a shit-bird who was drummed out or a little, mommy’s basement dwelling keyboard coward who hates all military types. I’m thinking it’s the latter.

A Proud Infidel®️™️

He talks like a sub-par Barracks Lawyer we had in one of the AD Units I served in, and he got drummed out after a Field Grade Article 15, reduced to E1, “45 and 45”, then thrown out ASAP, I think he’s the former myself.

Marine0331

Yeah, the more I think about it, you are probably correct.

E.conboy

Sorta underestimated his potential…?

Roh-Dog

I am exceedingly glad to hear the military installation both these yahoos were stationed has been almost exclusively referred to as “Fort Bragg”.

We’re winning the Culture War, gents!

Bragg
rgr769

One technical point, the beret flash in that pic is for the 1st SFG(A). It has always been based on Okinawa. Although, Bragg is the home of all Army Special Forces in the sense we were all initially trained there at the JFK Special Warfare Center.

Hack Stone

So Hack Stone was listening to WMAL this week, and during one of the programs, a caller asked the host where do you purchase an ISIS flag in America. You would think that when Attorney General Merrick Garland had FBI agents scanning on line credit purchases of Bible by American citizens, they may have also wanted to see who is buying radical Islam swag, but resources are limited.
