Will Conybeare
A suspect is in custody and the search is on for another after a security guard opened fire on them while they were trying to break into a multi-million dollar home in the upscale Los Angeles neighborhood of Beverly Crest.According to a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson, officers responded to a call for service in the 2500 block of Summitridge Drive, which is located in a gated community south of Mulholland Drive, at approximately 7:18 p.m. Friday.
When they arrived, they located an armed security guard who shot at two suspects trying to break into a residence, the spokesperson stated. The guard mentioned to officers that he saw the suspects with weapons.
“The guard fired at the suspects, neither of whom were struck,” the spokesperson added. “The suspects then fled the area.”
One of the suspects was located and taken into custody, the spokesperson confirmed, adding that he was bitten by a K9 officer as he was being detained.
The second suspect remains outstanding as of 5 a.m. Saturday.

Outstanding? He pretty much sucks at burglary, but at least he didn’t get chomped on by a K9.
Salt Lake City convenience store worker disarms robbery suspect before police arrive
Story by Danielle MacKimm
A Salt Lake City convenience store employee wrestled with an individual attempting to rob the store, successfully disarming him before police arrived and took both the suspect and his girlfriend into custody.Salt Lake City Police said 19-year-old Jimmy Gallegos and 18-year-old Odalys Garcia were arrested Sunday, Dec. 22, following an aggravated robbery at a convenience store in the Ballpark Neighborhood.
The investigation began at midnight when a community member called 911 to report a person with a gun at 1470 South and State Street. Dispatchers could hear yelling in the background during the call.
Gallegos and Garcia entered the store and browsed merchandise before Garcia reportedly left to move her car into a position that would help Gallegos escape. When an employee told Gallegos he needed to pay for the merchandise he had taken, Gallegos allegedly pulled out a handgun and attempted to flee.
The employee wrestled with Gallegos and disarmed him. Garcia, who had been watching the commotion from her vehicle, is accused of returning to the store and using pepper spray on the employee to help Gallegos escape.
The couple fled to their getaway car, but officers with the Salt Lake City Police Department arrived, stopped the vehicle, and arrested them.
Thanks, Gun Bunny.
The gun gives boldness, enterprise, and independence to the mind. Let your gun, therefore, be the constant companion of your walks.

Fortunately, not my neighborhood.
I’ll have to pull out my map and see how close Ballpark is to WVC (West Valley City). A rough place.
I’ll have to check KSL (dot com) and see what they have to say.
There are two other major propaganda organs in SLC, the SL Trib (a NY Slime wanna-be) and the Deseret News (politics possibly to the right, but I don’t subscribe). Not gonna check either one. I only mention them for Gun Bunny as a possible source of future FGS.
My sister lived in West Valley City in the 70’s, but it was still Granger then.
While you’re checking on things, Tox, see if you can get a ballpark idea of why the Mormons are getting as radical as the Amish. And we won’t even talk about how much trouble the Methodists are causing. Not much street cred when your intended victim takes your weapon away and your girlfriend has to come to your rescue. Guess he’ll be the girlfriend when he meets the Boys at the BTJ&T Club House.
I hunted around trying to find out which one of the K-9 Officers it was that put the bite on the perp. Was gonna post a pic of that Good Boy. He’ prolly still licking his azz to get the perp taste out of his mouth.
Tommy, I don’t even walk to the mailbox without one of my companions…and… I live in a very safe (?) ‘hood. We won’t talk about the load out in The Prime Mover when I have escort duty to the Little Big Town…
Plasticized abominations….sigh
Well, just looked in KSL dot com using the keywords “Ballpark”, “neighborhood”, “robbery”.

And Mormons were BORN as radicals.
Joseph Smith saw a vision.
Which disagreed with then current evangelism.
Ever since, the Mormons were kicked out – VIOLENTLY- from one place to another, until they were forced to leave the (then) US of A to find a place to settle.
Just because we preach sweetness and light, and some of the current adherents have forgotten their violent beginning, doesn’t mean that we ALL have forgotten.
