Pro DEI groups worried that their DEI progress within the DoD will be rolled back

Members of “Protect our Defenders and Human Rights First” are among those expressing concern over Donald Trump’s plans to undo their efforts. They’ve spent the past few years advocating for DEI within the military. They feel that DEI would strengthen the military and aid with recruiting.

Opponents of the Pentagon’s DEI programs claim they harm recruitment efforts by deterring people with conservative views. Those who support the programs argue they can improve recruitment by showing would-be recruits that the military doesn’t tolerate discrimination.

According to a study published in 2021 by Blue Star Families, a nonprofit that supports military families and veterans, about 30% of service members identify as minorities. By 2027, most recruitable adults in the United States will be people of color, the study said. National security experts have increasingly viewed women, too, as having an important role to play in reversing the military’s recruitment woes.

“This is something that has just been incredibly politicized, when in reality these are the kinds of programs that have been supported by people throughout the services who see them as useful to the mission of trying to create a more lethal force and improve recruitment,” Yates said.

Little evidence exists, meanwhile, that DEI initiatives play much of a role in recruitment. The Pentagon’s Inspector General reported last year that the majority of would-be recruits are not enlisting because of fear of death in combat, having grown up hearing about casualties in Iraq and Afghanistan. There is also increased competition between the military and the private sector for top talent, and private companies offer higher pay on average, the report states.

Didn’t the military create the Specialist grades to confront this challenge? I thought that was the whole point of the “artificer” position in enlisted ranks as far back as the Revolutionary War. DEI won’t fix that…

The truth is America was never supposed to have a large military by design. In 1890 there were 30,000 soldiers and 10,000 sailors in the entire US military. The Coast Guard hadn’t been established yet. t wasn’t until post WWI and especially WWII that a standing military was accepted by most of the population. There was a huge militia system but the Feds had no control over it.

Once the Feds illegally obtained the 16th Amendment we were all set for WWI and and the ambitions of empire in the inter war years.

As a member of the dreaded private sector who has hired dozens over a 4 decade career indeed I can assure you these are great times to be a talented potential young candidate for any position.

In a large metro area like NYC the perks for being smart and ambitious are ridiculously attractive at the higher end employers…

Free food, subway/metro monthly passes, high pay, benefits….and no indentured servitude subject to the whims of dipshits on a power trip who believe standing in formation for hours somehow benefits discipline…

Now that the military is actively pursuing waivers for the intellectually challenged it’s clear they’ve acknowledged losing the competition for the talented people.

I think the Navy decided earlier this year that no diploma or GED is no longer a barrier as long as 50 or better on the ASVAB is achieved…

You have equal rights. Not equal outcomes. You have the right to pursue happiness, there’s no guarantee of it. DEI is a lie told to willing sheep looking for free shit. A baited trap.

“Lies…damned lies…and statistics…” If the DEI (Didn’t Earn It) initiatives were going to “fill the ranks” then we should be bursting at the seams with recruits from these types overwhelming the recruiters. I never claimed to be good at maff, but I was hell on arithmetic…and the numbers don’t add up. Again…a recruiter is just a salesperson…selling a product…to a limited pool of customers. And the customers aren’t buying it because the product is flawed. You’d think they were trying to peddle some kind of outdated software at the off ramp of the interstate in Bethesda MD.

Welp, ever since the 0bama years, the military has been run by D-rats, Progs and other leftist moonbats that have foisted this wokist bullshit on our military. It was still present during Trump’s last term. As a result, many of us here are discouraging our children and grandchildren from serving in the military. I am one of them, despite the fact that I am extremely proud of my service as a professional soldier in my first career.
