Attempted break-in prompts shots fired call in Dayton

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Shots were fired after a group of suspects attempted to break into a home.A shots fired call was reported around 11:30 a.m. in the 3300 block of W. Second Street in Dayton. Several officers with the Dayton Police Department responded to the scene.
Police on scene told 2 NEWS that the incident began when a group of five suspects attempted to break into a home on Second Street. The suspects fired shots into the home upon entry.
A male homeowner was at home at the time, and reportedly returned fire, striking one of the intruders. That individual was hospitalized for their injuries.
Police say they arrested all five suspects. Investigation is underway.

Armed suspect shot dead by homeowner’s son after breaking into Ruskin home, deputies say

RUSKIN, Fla. (WFLA) — An armed suspect is dead after he broke into a home in Ruskin, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.In the early hours on Sunday, around 12:24 a.m., officials received a call that someone had broken into a home in the 3000 block of Double D Ranch Trail.
Deputies arrived the find the suspect already dead with multiple gunshot wounds.
Investigators discovered that the homeowner’s adult son shot the suspect after he broke in.
“Imagine the fear of being awoken in the middle of the night to a stranger invading your home,” Sheriff Chad Chronister said. “This is every homeowner’s greatest fear, a dangerous and brazen individual breaking in, showing a complete disregard for the safety and security of others. Our thoughts are with this family as they recover from the trauma of this event.”
No further details have been released.
