Army Major alleged to have perpetrated sexual assault against at least 20 victims
Major Jonathan J. Batt is looking at three charges involving 76 specifications related to sexual assault. There are at least 20 alleged victims involved with these charges. A military preliminary hearing officer recommended that these charges be addressed at a court-martial. Bratt is facing specifications related to sexual assault, abusive sexual contact, aggravated assault by strangulation, aggravated assault with suffocation, assault consummated by battery, as well as obstruction to justice.
From the Army Times:
Batt faces 14 specifications of rape, 20 specifications of sexual assault, three specifications of abusive sexual contact, 15 specifications of aggravated assault by strangulation, one specification of aggravated assault by suffocation, 22 specifications of assault consummated by a battery and one specification of obstructing justice, Office of Special Trial Counsel spokesperson Michelle McCaskill told Army Times.
The alleged offenses took place between December 2019 and February 2023 in the Washington, D.C. area, McCaskill said.
“We intend to represent him vigorously and we have no further comment at this time,” Cave said in a statement.
McCaskill referred further questions to CID. Special Agent Mark Lunardi told Army Times that Batt’s “remains an active and ongoing investigation.”
Batt was being detained at a military detention facility in Chesapeake, Virginia, as of Thursday, officials said.
Batt commissioned after attending the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in 2007, officials said. As an infantry officer, he deployed to Afghanistan four times and was previously assigned to the 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 5th Ranger Training Battalion, 3rd Infantry Division, 75th Ranger Regiment and 3rd Infantry Regiment.
The major’s awards include two Bronze Star Medals, two Meritorious Service Medals, four Army Commendation Medals, 7 Army Achievement Medals and various other awards.

Batt’s going down.
I missed my calling as a defense attorney.
Opening Statement: “Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, a careful review of the evidence we will show you in this courtroom will prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that my client is a turd. We will take you on a journey which will disgust and appall you and at the end of it, I will ask for your guilty verdict. I yield the floor to the prosecution.”
Adjusts coattails. Takes seat.
(All, of course, contingent on evidence showing he’s guilty!)
Major Jail Time.
Somehow I don’t see an immediate O-5 promotion any time soon.
Not now, anyway. Maybe in 4 more years?
The media is going to make little Johnny famous. Assuming he doesn’t take the cowardly way out soon they will be discussing this one for years. Did his penis catch the Peety S Dee? Enquiring minds wanna know.
Those are some “Captain Lincoln F. Sternn” – level charges.
Hope they fry his ass.
“Captain Lincoln F. Sternn”
Love that movie
“Charley, I got an angle…”
Heavy Metal:
“…and one moving violation!”
“…except when he sold dope to kids while dressed as a nun…”
Bad ass movie.
The binded is being unboundéd. I have diminished faith and decreasing expectations that the ship’l turn.

JAG and the local DA need to compare notes on the maximum punishment that each can impose, and assign the case to whoever wields the largest hammer.
“whoever wields the largest hammer”
I was thinking what system has a better chance of him getting raped on a daily basis.
That would be a bonus.
Inflight Patriot Missile Technician sans PPE.
It’d be nice to televise his first/last certification/redemption flight at Kwajalein.
Looks like Batt is batting Zero on this charge. He should have a good Lawyer to go to batt for him who will most likely Batt out on the number of charges that he has to go on to Batt for Batt. This is all aBatt making sure that Batt gets a fair trial and gets what he deserves. He could get a job in the prison bakery making Batters of dough.
What part of “Keep yer pecker in yer pants” did he not understand?
That boy needs whupped with a stick.
Interesting you said that Graybeard. When I was in the Engineroom, we were heading to my first Liberty port in San Juan PR. so I said to MM Chief Masterson (Bat was his nickname) wow Chief, this is my first Liberty port, and the Chief says to me, keep your pecker in your pocket and drink soda pop.
Old East Texas / Southern saying.
Usually older men to the young bucks who are constantly in rut.
JEEZ…just one more and he could have made LTCOL.
He was slated to take a battalion, so a promotion would have been in the near future: Officer Command List 2024 – West Point Association of Graduates.
DC is a prime place for a predator. Plenty of women (men? He’s a field grade in 2024…) letting down their guard while exercising in the morning, and then winding down at night on the local bar scene.
If he’s found guilty, he needs to be tossed under Leavenworth.
His bio reads like he was all set. When I served I found nearly every academy grad to be shockingly irresponsible when it came to sex. The few exceptions tended to run firmly religious.
Sure thing, we had the first female Tomb PL see her career cut short… As a USMA grad and 82nd combat vet, combined with her service in TOG and potential subsequent assignments/commands, she seemed like she was set for a star or more by now. Instead, she was unceremoniously dumped as a newly demoted 1LT in the mid-2000s.
In my opinion, West Point Cadets (and probably other Academy graduates) tend to have a warped sense of sexuality and intimate relations, brought on by both the repressive nature of Service Academies and the feeling of superiority from having graduated from one. You go from being the subordinate Beta (at best) to being the Alpha, regardless of gender, upon commissioning.
One of my former Soldiers–who had his career cut short at West Point as a male Cadet–is now a proud lesbian transwoman, and I’m happy for whatever pronouns they go by. Given their former treatment of fellow “feminists” when still identifying as a man, though, I wouldn’t be surprised if they were deviants and have a few skeletons in their own closets.
I remember when I was AD on Benning in an Engineer Unit when one of the Line Platoons got a hot-looking new redheaded Female 2LT fresh from West Point and Engineer OBT, soon there were rumors of her and the PSG having romps in the sack to which said PSG gave a good flaming-hot ass chewing to his Platoon out in the Motor Pool. Soon after the PSG was suddenly taking early retirement while the cute little LT was suddenly reassigned to a desk job in the basement of Group HQ. Yeah, letting your libido think for you will always bite back in more ways than one, look at what “Blowjob Willie” Clinton is STILL famous for, as well as the expression “Getting a Lewinski”!
Coming up next, how Batt’s gender fluid reality forced him to do this.
He was sick, he needs treatment–paid for by taxpayers, of course–and he will be fine.
Yeah, that should get him out of it. PTS of the D, transsexualism, and good old societal bullying.
I can see the whole thing playing out now…
Treatment? I suggest regular application of:
Just insert and apply power at random times.
Nice touch.
15 awards in 17 years of service? That’s the Army way, get an award for breathing. Must of got them all impressed with his ribbon rack.
