By Amber Ruch
POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. (KFVS) – Police say a southeast Missouri homeowner found a man in his yard and shot him in the leg after he allegedly became aggressive.

According to a news release from the Poplar Bluff Police Department, they responded to a home in the 2000 block of Mangold Street around 1:15 a.m. on Wednesday, August 28 for a reported shooting.

Officers talked to the homeowner who showed them where a man was in the backyard of the home with a gunshot wound to the leg.

They identified the man as a 46-year-old Poplar Bluff man.

Police say the man was in the fenced-in backyard when the homeowner found him.

When he was confronted by the homeowner, he allegedly became aggressive and approached the homeowner.

The homeowner, who was armed, shot the man one time and then called 911.

Not a very popular thing to do, bluff your way onto an armed homeowner’s property and then become aggressive. Hey dumbass…Show Me the state of your new dance moves.

Check out the linky to the LA story. In addition to a knife for defense, the homeowner’s daughter used a vacuum cleaner to fight off the invader. Boy, that would suck, being beat up by a girl…with a Hoover. Tox, check the three (3) ring binder.

True journalism is as dead as the perp. *sigh* And that “check back for updates…” thing? Naw, it don’t happen too much. Ask me how I know.

I don’t remind folks on the lawn during a dinner on the grounds situation. It’s those damn kids that won’t push a lawn mower that get to me.

“…to protect the motherland.” Y’all do know that it will be up to The True Patriots of America to protect our Motherland, right? No one is coming to save us…

No mention of a gun involved in this situation. Perp, knife, vacuum cleaner. Nope, no gun mentioned in the article. (hence the name of the 3″ three ring binder set Things To Not Bring To A GUN Fight).
Buuut, considering the weird, wacky, wonderous way of the world, I could consider setting up a separate sub-category in the T2NB2AGF encyclopedia. For now. This may come under later review and editing, we may have to set up a whole new 3″ three ring binder set of “Things Brought To A Fight With No Guns Involved”.

I gotta give Ms Thang Daughter kudos for following the advice The Gun Bunny gives out, freely. She did…Prepare… and she did bring “every weapon to bear”. Can hear the perp now as he is checking his new digs at the Gray Bar Hotel. “DaHell happened to you, dood?” “I got beat up by a girl…with a vacuum cleaner!”

Full disclosure…I have a full sized arsenal of Cast Iron Weapons.

Sorry, but if I heard someone banging on my front door at 4am, and (considering it’s Kalifornication) I didn’t have a gun, I’d be waiting just beside the door with Ex-PH2’s favorite weapon (no, not Ms Squacky Pants), the heaviest cast iron skillet I could wield. As soon as that head appeared through the door, it’d be light out for mr perp.
Why wait for the perp to be in the house, and THEN attack with a knife and vacuum cleaner?

Lucky that the guy whom got shot in the fenced in yard didn’t have a hollow leg or the SAS would be in there in a jiffy filling it up with ale.

If I ever have to shoot an intruder in my backyard, I’m going to have a bit of trouble looking up the number for 9-1-1.
Might take me, oh, 30 minutes to an hour.
