Canadians have the same stolen valor problem we have here in the US. It tends to show up at the Canadian Legion, an organization similar to the American Legion. The Canadian Legion allows membership based on much looser rules than our veterans groups, although we do have some posers in our Orgs.. The Canadian Legion clubs struggle for $$$ so they have a lot of open events , or allow membership to kids of veterans
I lived in Ontario for 14 years, and visited a few Legion clubs. I met a several genuine VN veterans (I had a Canadian in my unit who crossed into the US and enlisted), and several who were posers claiming to have served there.
Canadians have a poorly funded, but top notch military, largely built by ‘peacekeeping’ for the UN. As you know, the USA pays the lion’s share of the peacekeeping bill.
