You’d think that SOMEONE in the VFW Post or American Legion Post associated with this event would have checked the guy’s credentials. Just a 2 minute or less conversation could weed out a
phony by any USN vet. DD 214 too much to ask ? Start with the people at the top and work down. You may be surprised.
Wonder why he chose LCDR rank ? My guess is that a lot of the Sea Cadet Unit CO’s wear LCDR rank, but are easily identifiable by the insignias, etc. My son joined and they loved the old fellow who ran their unit, as well as the female XO who was like their den mother.
He is a Lieutenant (SWO) USN now.
