Who put this together?

According to this DD-124 he never deployed overseas (block 12-f is blank and there is no notation for HF/IDP service in block 18). How did he have five AFEMs, there weren’t that many location authorized the AFEM during his time in service? I’m not sure how he can have five sea service deployment ribbons (block 13), when he only had 17 days at sea (block 12 g)?

Block 12-f refers to foreign service – that is different than an overseas deployment.

I have said this before and probably will have to again. Navy and Marines that conduct unit deployments and work on the ground outside CONUS do not count as Foreign service time in blk 12 F. They will also have deployment ribbons for deployment on ground supporting missions and may not have Sea time you can not have both. I have 12 Sea service ribbons but have never been on a ship all on the ground.

I question the veracity of this DD-214 shown above. There are several issues with it.

1st Regulations require Medals to be listed in the Order of Precedence.
2nd according to this DD-214 he actually has 6 Bronze Stars with “V” As the medal is listed twice (once after the Navy Commendation Medal) and then again after the Silver Star.

He was a SEAL. Sometimes they are awarded medals for actions that are classified. I know multiple Army, Marine, and Navy personnel with classified commendations. I once re-enlisted a SGM using a name I wasn’t familiar with, his real one.
