Jeffrey Wayne Williams; embellishing Marine

| April 19, 2016

Jeffrey Wayne Williams

The folks at Military Phony send us a link to their work on this Jeffrey Wayne Williams fellow. He actually had a pretty good and admirable career that included service in Beirut, but he didn’t think that was enough. He made up two Bronze Star Medals, parachutist wings, scuba training and duty in the Sinai. Everyone wants to be a parachutist, until it’s time to do pre-jump refresher.

Williams was even the model for the cover of a magazine that named the Marine Corps the “Man of the Year”;

Jeffrey Williams magazine cover

After he left the Marine Corps, he did some time in the Pennsylvania National Guard, too and he had to wear that scuba bubble;

williams-ang

He also claimed to have been a staff sergeant of Marines, but, no he was a corporal;

Give him a LAR-V and some Sofnolime..have him prep his rig, jock up and dive it. Then post that shit on youtube.

mr. sharkman

SARC: “Enjoy your Caustic Cocktail, cockfag.”

Dual Cool Pretender: “Is that some kind of drink?”

SARC: “Basically.”

😉

Ex-PH2

What kind of straw do you use with that?

mr. sharkman

For those smart enough to never go underwater, military diving can go real bad, real fast, no matter how skilled and experienced you are.

Here’s an article about the accident at Aberdeen Proving Grounds a couple of years ago, in a pre-deployment training/evaluation exercise where they lost two experienced drivers. (Granted there were leadership and decision errors that put them at additional risk that led to their deaths.)
Still, how many times do we say, training for war is almost as dangerous as real war.

Martinjmpr

Wow, that was tough to read.

I’ll admit it, water scares the shit out of me in a way that gravity doesn’t. Thinking about those two guys, knowing they were going to die but going through the motions to try and free themselves is just heartbreaking.

And that’s not even the worst of it – think of the sailors on the USS Indianapolis, waiting for days in blistering heat and shark-infested waters.

See the thing about being a paratrooper is, if everything goes to hell, the amount of time between the “Oh, SHIT!” and the impact with the ground is measured in seconds, not minutes, hours or days. 😉

Silentium Est Aureum

Tell me about it. When I was stationed in Guam we had the only recompression chamber around for, well, pretty much ever. They brought divers in all the frigging time.

We even lost a guy due to shallow water blackout/drowning. NOT a fun scene. Good guy.

jonp

idk, I’m a PADI Rescue Diver among other quals and a paratrooper. It can go bad but so can driving a car

IDC SARC

Comparing Military diving and PADI hobby lobbing is like comparing BB guns to artillery.

The hardest day of my civilian dive quals was like the easiest day of military diving…including my civilian Ricky Rescue Diver certification.

Green Thumb

Most of my diving experiences revolved around a bottle.

Silentium Est Aureum

Yup…I’m PADI Rescue Diver certified and I knew I MIGHT qualify for Dive School.

And no, had no desire to be a ships diver. I dove because I wanted to. They dove because they had to.

jonp

No one has to make a training dive if they think it is too dangerous. Those divers should have pulled the plug. The men in charge should have pulled the plug.

jonp

That was not the point. Things can go bad no matter what you do. I counted a whole bunch of errors not only on the part of those in charge but also on the divers part. The whole thing was a goat screw from start to finish and because of whole lot of bad decisions on the part of all involved two good men are dead and several careers are ruined.
There, IDC SARC. Is your dick big enough? You seem to want to demean the size of mine for some reason or did you just want to impress the ladies with your studly daring do and machismo?

IDC SARC

I guess I can also throw in my quals as a military chamber operator/inside tender Dive Med Tech too.

My previous statement was to illustrate a working knowledge and experience on both sides of the house. Something you can’t really do with your assumptions derived from being a PADI Daddy.

Has nothing to do with the length or circumference of my external genitalia or the pH of your mangina.

Tony180a

LMAO he probably thinks a Draeger is a weapon.

SFC D

I thought Draeger was that big Russian guy that Rocky fought

Green Thumb

“Daeeeaaa”

“That man is a piece of iron”.

Ncat

What are talking about, it’s one of Daenarys’ dragons.

jonp

no, its that licorice alcohol that comes in a green bottle

Tony180a

The Dive Sup is going to instruct Jeffrey to descend below 2 atmospheres….. and hang out for awhile.

Dave Hardin

I gave this asshole every opportunity to correct himself. I was asked to be “nice” about it in that group.

When some clown puts on my uniform and rank I take it personal.

When they tell me to go phuk myself…well I just get all warm and fuzzy.

Marine_7002

“When some clown puts on my uniform and rank I take it personal.”

Amen to that, Dave.

My blood pressure goes up a bit when some non-hacking wannabee who has never served a day in the Corps decides to dress up like a Marine. But I also take it as a bit of a compliment, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and all that.

But when MARINES do that…time for some verbal horizontal butt strokes. They should damn well know better.

Jeff, if you’re reading this – get your shit together. Cut the bullshit and be proud of your actual service record. Get rid of all those damn photos that show you wearing awards you didn’t receive and rank you didn’t earn.

And LOSE THAT FUCKING VFW COVER WHEN YOU ARE WEARING A MARINE UNIFORM, and GET SQUARED AWAY. You should know better than that.

Marine_7002

Got ahead of myself…cutting and pasting grrrrr. Should be “But when MARINES do Stolen Valor…

SFC D

There are times when you just have to release Dave from his leash.

This is one of those times.

Bruno Stachel

So we already have two cases of Marine Corps Stolen Valor this morning. Quite a way to get the day started out right. And I couldn’t agree more with Dave Hardin and Marine_7002.

Why can’t these assclowns just knock it off and stop? I am getting so sick of this relentless Stolen Valor crap, especially when Marines do it.

Hopefully Cpl Williams will run into a real Reconnaissance Marine sometime soon while he’s wearing that absurd costume of his.

Club Manager

Dave, would a real Marine ever wear a VFW hat with their uniform?

Dave Hardin

I am not sure what the exact regs are for wearing a cover within the VFW. Marines do not wear a cover inside unless they are under arms.

They shouldn’t IMHO.

It’s the collar that always gets me. Why do these clowns have to sport the gobbler neck in a uniform that obviously does not fit. If they are going to invest in a fake uniform at least have the respect to have it altered to fit.

Marine_7002

Also look how the lower edge of his jacket “scallops” (curves) in between buttons, shows that the jacket is too small.

He’s added some ballast to his belly over the years, and that’s no sin (happens to ’bout all of us). But that’s no excuse for wearing a jacked-up uniform.

Agree with you about the cover, Dave. Doesn’t make a rat’s ass what the regulations might say, a uniform is just that, whether you’re active duty or not, and every Marine should wear it the way it is SUPPOSED to be worn, regardless of his/her status.

Just An Old Dog

And those broke-dick leather shoes. No attempt to shone them. It looks like he was kicking pigs in the mouth before he showed up.

Bruno Stachel

Williams is also wearing an unauthorized PUC in the photo where he’s sporting that snappy VFW cover with his blues.

Dave Hardin

Ya, faking a PUC and a MUC seems grabasstic.

The worst part is he has a Marine Corps Expeditionary Medal with a star.

That indicates that he was part of only a handful of Marines that were with 2/6 that deployed to Beirut twice.

He just makes me want to puke.

Green Thumb

“Grabasstic”.

Awesome.

Hondo

Yeah, that term’s a “keeper” for future use.

Ex-PH2

I have to add that to my list of descriptive epithets.

Hondo

He is indeed. As well as what appears to be a HSM and a couple of Army-specific decorations (AAM, NCOPDR).

He may have earned the latter 3 may while serving in the ARNG. But if they’re legit, he’s wearing them hugely out of precedence order – the AAM (Army Achievement Medal) is a personal decoration, and if I understand the USMC ribbon-rack precedence correctly should be worn as his highest decoration.

MSGT_RET

The NCOPDR isn’t authorized for wear on the USMC uniform.

In fact, why is he even wearing the USMC uniform at all if he served in the Army after he was discharged from the Corps? When I was in the Air National Guard we had an ANG Staff Sergeant with prior USMC service show up at a military ball in his USMC dress uniform with Corporal stripes. Needless to say, it didn’t end well.

Silentium Est Aureum

Jesus, when is it ever enough for these assclowns?

Hondo

After they quit breathing, maybe.

nbcguy54ACTUAL

We’ve seen fakery taken the grave too, Hondo. Fake cap on tombstones, so perhaps it never ends…

Hondo

Yeah, but at that point at least they can’t keep making additional, more grandiose claims.

Hondo

I guess not having a NDSM drove him over the edge . . . .

Seriously, his career was quite honorable and respectable for that era. Sad to see that that wasn’t enough for him; doubly sad to see him p!ss all over his honorable service by lying about his career.

Skippy

A few questions for ya Hondo
1. Was he a SSG in the Guard ????
2. I thought in order to have a CAR you had to have a NDSM or was this coved under some sort of UN peacekeeping medal ????

And off issue. we had a JOE in my CAV unit that had a divers badge and earned it in the army,,
I guess the army sends you to Pen-cola or somewhere up there in Florida to train it was the first time I’ve ever head of anyone in the army diving what a trip ?

Hondo

Can’t answer about his ARNG career – haven’t seen any info on that other than a reference to his having served in the ARNG.

No, having the NDSM isn’t a prerequisite to having a CAR. The CAR has existed since early 1969 (it was later made retroactive to World War II). Any operation between the end of the Vietnam NDSM period and the beginning of the Gulf War NDSM period (May 1975 to Aug 1991), or between the Gulf War and the start of the GWOT (Nov 1995 to Sep 2001) could result in award of the CAR without also awarding a NDSM. Grenada, Panama, and Lebanon all fall within the earlier period. Pretty sure that USMC and/or USN forces were involved in all of those operations.

Skippy

Good Copy ^^^^
On the 411
I’d Lille to see his ARNG Record it would be a little interesting to see if the eye candy may have lead him to getting the boot, I’ve seen it once and have heard about it happening
Something tells me this may have been a issue before also

Hondo

I’d also like to see what the PA ARNG has to say about the guy.

Standing offer: if anyone has the requisite info (either 1. FirstName/MiddleName/LastName PLUS DOB PLUS POB PLUS approx dates of service or 2. FirstName/MI/LastName PLUS SSN), I’ll be happy to file a FOIA with the PA National Guard FOIA office.

Bobo

In the photo above with him in an Army uniform, he’s a SPC (E-4). He might have become an E-6 in the ARNG, but I don’t think that too many Marines would be willing to buy off on his wearing the rank that he earned in the Army on a Marine uniform without actually served at that rank in the Marines.

Skippy

I understand that my memory is south but it seems like we had a clown on here that was claiming a rank in one branch that he earned in another witch if I could remember was a no-go or he had a rank but was busted down but was still wearing the high rank witch was a no-go can’t remember. but I doubt he earned E-6 in the guard I have a feeling there was s going to be more coming out of this one

Skippy

there’s going to be more.. I have my popcorn ready

IDC SARC

I thought in order to have a CAR you had to have a NDSM or was this coved under some sort of UN peacekeeping medal ????

Nope…Hondo’s right. I got a CAR for Beirut before I had any NDSMs

Green Thumb

The Phildo runs deep in this maggot.

Extra shitbag.

JimV

I wonder how much time he did in the NG? I’m surprised that his unit didn’t catch him wearing such an unusual award like the SCUBA medal.

Speaking of SCUBA, I took SCUBA lessons when I was in High School. As I recall, it was lots of fun.

2/17 Air Cav

It was actually a Scoobie Do medal.

Hayabusa

Wow, how many posers have you had on here falsely claiming to be “Beirut Marines”? And here you have a seemingly mythical unicorn–a guy who actually was one–and it’s still not enough for him.

These clowns are just too funny.

ChipNASA

I’m shocked that Dave’s head didn’t just go “Poof”.
He’s obviously made of Strong Stuff. 😉

AnotherPat

I thought the MFO Sinai mission was for only US Army troops and not Marines, unless he did a 6 month rotation with the PA NG?

Skippy

I was under the understanding that it’s been a guard mission for some time now
A guard unit that I was with did a tour over there

HMCS(FMF) ret.

Jeffy-boi is a bag of ass… one of those Hefty style “lawn and leaf” bags of ass!

ABNDVR

Not defending this guy, but the navy did run a scuba school in subic bay and attendance by marines from A or B CO would not be unimageniable…

I’d rather wonder about his CAR. 2/6 came in after the bombing as relief for 1/8…

NECCSEABEECPO

The bombing wasn’t the only event or contact that forces received they had other fire fights and contact events that justify a CAR.

Hondo

If he attended that school and it resulted in qualification for and the award of the Scuba Badge, that qualification should be listed in his records. The FOIA reply was prepared using his official records on file at NPRC; it doesn’t include a scuba badge among his quals.

Dick masterson

Who cares he could have picked up staff in the IRR. My unit got a MUC after I got out and could careless to go through the process of getting on my fioa. I read some of these comments and its crazy. Why pick on a legit combat veteran? He has a car who cares maybe message him and explain the situation and tell him to stop and give him a second chance.

Dick Masterson

This is by far not stolen valor. Just tell the guy hey don’t wear it because it ain’t in your foia. Call it a day and find the real posers. This is part of the reason I hate stolen valor find real posers and not guys who make a mistake and extend the truth for various reasons.

Scotty

This is a prime case of Stolen Valor.
You don’t gain two ranks and numerous medals of Valor. Plus claim insignia for schools that you never attended after you’ve been discharged from active duty. If we allow this bullshit. Than every swinging dick wannabe will have a chest full of ribbons putting Chesty Puller to shame.

Eden

Dick, if he’s listed here with the posers and embellishers, he’s already had MORE than ample opportunity to fix his stuff. He’s already had his second, third, fourth, and many more chances, and blew them all. And you don’t make rank in the IRR.

JACK SHIT

“And you don’t make rank in the IRR.”

Anybody and everybody who knows me knows THAT! 😀

Dick masterson

Bs you do might try google jack shit. Clearly googling promotion IRR is too hard for you.

Eden

I guess I know you, then, but Dick sure doesn’t. If one could make rank in the IRR, I would be at least an O6.

Dick masterson

Check the refs or google it. Clearly you were a hot shot barracks lawyer.

Skippy

now that is two words I haven’t heard in a few Lol
BHWHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!LL!

Jarhead

Never had an idea that Eden knew everything until you brought it up. Frakly, I’m in agreement with you masterson with a Dick. Now I don’t believe most all of us know everything. But I DO believe we know shit from shinola. You indicate you know MUCH about whatever. What makes you want to be the facilitator for this phony to make his B. S. claims and seek recognition for make believe? Are you his gay lover by any chance, or just someone who wants to stir up shit? Claiming he was an E-6 when in reality he was only an E-4….and that doesn’t bother you? Giving a liar a second chance to do what….even further embellish his always growing stories? So he claims time in the Corps and time in the N G. WTH ? Doesn’t make any difference whether Bozo is selling Big Macs or Whoppers….he’s still just a damned clown. The one thing that really grates my nerves is his tale and your indifference to his claims of two Bronze Stars. Presumably for bravery…you surely can tell us about all he did to earn those medals. Medals for unearned bravery, compare that to the hundreds of thousand who have fought in all branches of service through the years, suffered, and returned home with the real and EARNED scars of war. SO now does that not bother you from a standpoint of what he claims he earned and the reality that MANY have come home having likely seen and experienced FAR MORE than this fool, but neither received nor sought recognition? Also give thought to the MANY through the years who came home in a wooden box, were buried without being given awards for their sacrifices and bravery….and THEY did in fact earn far more that this idiot ever received. We refer to that behavior as stepping on the graves of those who made the ultimate sacrifice. And we all DO give a damn about lying and exaggerating one’s records. Most all of us have respect and honor for those who served, wore the uniform proudly, and avoid… Read more »

Soldiers expecting promotions in the IRR component of the Army Reserve must meet the promotion criteria. This includes updated weapon qual, updated PT score, prerequisite NCOES course, etc. They also can’t be flagged. For IRR, this includes remaining in good standing. A recommended way to do this is to apply for attachment, not assignment, to a TPU unit in order to best remain updated. It also puts an IRR Soldier in position of authority in order to prove one’s worth for promotion.

Dave Hardin

Dick Masterson,

I care. He was messaged. He was confronted about his claims directly by a group of fellow Beirut veterans.

If you believe that a veteran that claims two Bronze Stars and promotes himself to the rank of the SNCO and is confronted by those who served with him to correct it is being “picked on”…let me quote Mr. Williams.

“Go Fukyourself”

That was his response to his fellow veterans.

Bobo

Since he went to the ARNG after his USMC enlistment, and since the photo of him in the Army BDUs shows him wearing SPC (E-4) rank, I hardly believe that he was promoted to E-6 in the USMC IRR and then signed up to go into the PA ARNG as an E-4.

nbcguy54ACTUAL

He was probably given the rank that he was when last on active duty.

The IRR promotion thing smells. It’s hard to get promoted when you don’t belong to unit. No unit-no commander. No commander-no promotion authority. No promotion authority-no promotion.

Just An Old Dog

2/6 went to beruit twice… They were the unit deployed when the US embassy was bombed and in the med from Feb-Aug 82. I believe they came back in Feb 84 as well for a short Stint.

Dave Hardin

2/6 was there during the bombing of the Embassy in April 84. They were relieved by 1/8. Elements of 2/6 were flown back to Beirut the Day after the Bombing on Oct 23 as well. 2/8 arrived in Dec 83 and shortly after that CP76 was was hit. They were relieved by 3/8 who fortified the new Embassy before it was bombed in Sept 84.

Dave Hardin

Correction: 2/6 was there during the bombing of the Embassy in April 83. I miss-typed the year.

Dave Hardin

There were many attacks and Marines wounded or KIA before, during, and after those events as well.

Not only Marines. One little known fact is the first Delta Force member ever KIA was in Beirut. He was attached to the Embassy working to help suppress sniper fire. He was killed during the Embassy bombing in April 83.

Navy personnel were sent ashore after the bombing on Oct 23 83 to assist in rescue/recovery efforts. Several pilots were KIA/captured as well.

Although there are several books on the topic, there has never been a complete history of events ever written. That history only exists in the memories of those of us that served there.

Semper Fi bro.

NECCSEABEECPO

Some of my brothers were there when it happened they were out working on jobs and helped in recovery. I believe the detachment was NMCB 133.No one talks about it.

Dave Hardin

A close friend of mine has spent decades dedicated to the preservation of Beirut history. He is very will respected within the Beirut veteran community.

Although he likes to remain anonymous, he posts on this site regularly. Without his dedication and selfless efforts much of that history would have been lost.

Few people realize that our history of that event is guarded by a Navy Corpsman Chief Petty Officer.

He is still taking care of his Marines.

My BEST tours of duty as a Corpsman was with the Marines. My best duty station, though, was Millington, TN. Loved serving with the Grunts. Much, much respect for the Grunts. They treated me well, as I did them. Great groups of guys.

HMCS(FMF) ret.

Loved my two tours with the Corps and the two spent on Marine Corps bases – felt like I was part of the team from the get-go.

Got my FMF warfare pin presented to me my the 3rd FSSG CG on Okinawa – meant more to me than any other award I was given during my time in the Navy.

Sepmer Fi!

Scotty

The work that this Corpsman is doing on the preservation of the history on the Multinational Peace Keeping Force sent into Beirut is downright astounding.
His work will soon be so complete that we won’t even have to file a FOIA ( Although we still will) in order to know if someone deployed to Beirut or not.

Just An Old Dog

I’d rather wonder about his CAR. 2/6 came in after the bombing as relief for 1/8…

There were at least 2 high profile bombings concerning the US in the Early 80s in Beruit. April 18th a bomb hit the US embassy in Beruit causing 63 deaths.
Marines from BLT 2/6 were part of that reactionary force and were boots on the ground there for a while.
The Barracks Bombing on Oct 23 1983 hit 1/8, however the casualties were replaved by members transfered from 2/6 who were on air Airlert at thew time. Marines from 2/8 relieved 1/8 wghich in turn were relieved on statuion by 2/6 in Feb 1984

ABNDVR

@NECCSEABEECPO

granted – I just read up on the incident

@Hondo

well there are some legit awards missing in his FOIA (e.g. MUC)

still not defending – just sayin

Hondo

If the MUC was approved after his discharge from active duty, or even shortly before he was discharged, I’d expect it not to be listed. That becomes a given if it wasn’t approved until after he transferred out of or was discharged from the USMCR. It’s also IMO very likely if he was in the IRR while technically in the USMCR – IRR records don’t usually seem to get too much “love and attention”.

If he attended the diver class while on active duty, however, one would expect it to be listed on his records. The USMC has a pretty good reputation for getting things that should be there into Marines’ personnel records.

Green Thumb

The only thing this clown dove into were some manholes.

Green Thumb

I wonder if he was in Gunny Highway’s unit?

I could see him and Mario Van Peebles storming the hill. Or maybe he was LT Ring’s RTO?

Who knows?

HMCS(FMF) ret.

Nah, he was part of SSGT Webster’s unit

Messkit

A Soldier from my unit was/is PADI cert’ed. He volunteered for Sinai duty.

Someone found out he was PADI’d, and spent the deployment teaching SCUBA to the Saudi’s….when he wasn’t the Lifeguard on the same beach.

Dave Hardin

I am not passing judgement on current military policy. The fact is, in those days the Marine Corps did not give out awards and medals with the same liberal manner they do today.

Steve Russell who was Sergeant of the Guard the morning of Oct 23, 1983 and was severely wounded in the explosion has never been recognized for his service.

In the face of an enemy delivering the largest non-nuclear bomb in history, he sounded the alarm to take cover saving the lives of many Marines.

He was given a Purple Heart for his injuries. Thats all. No Bronze Star, no Navy Commendation, Navy Achievement, nuttin, nada, zip.

For this ass clown Williams to make claims of having two is unacceptable and a deliberate act to tarnish the history of those who served there.

He has shamed himself as a Marine and dishonored what it means to have earned an Eagle, Globe and Anchor.

I hope he spends the rest of his life hiding in the darkness and sucking bat shit of cave walls.

Phuk ewe Williams.

AskaMarine

Is it too late for Steve Russell to be recognized for what he did?

Hey, Visconi: Are you reading this? Yes, YOU, Visconi. The one who had to have that “PH” and came back ALIVE except for your skin rash and stepping on a nail.

How about you, Ric Belew? Proud of yourself for making all those claims?

I could go on and on and on about those Marines that had to embellish their time in service, all for their 15 minutes of fame/look at me Narcisstic Personality Disorders.

Williams, something is wrong with you that you just HAD to make yourself into a hero that you are not. Heroes are humble. They don’t talk about what they did.

What a great example you are setting for your family. You are teaching them to lie.

Have utterly ZERO respect for you. You are not a Marine. Well, I take that back. You are the Gomer Pyle Marine.

Be ashamed of yourself
Whoops, forgot. You probably don’t have a conscience or remorse. Yes, Sir Ree, let’s see you explain that poster to others when the truth is out there.
