“El Chapo’s” rifle traces to Fast and Furious operation
When drug kingpin, Joachim “El Chapo” Guzman was arrested recently, he had eight firearms stashed in his hideout. According to the FBI one of the two .50 caliber rifles in that arsenal traced back to the “Fast and Furious” gun-walking program that was designed to trace guns as they moved through the structure of the drug cartels. Many of the thousands of guns were lost by the Feds, but this one turned up, says Fox News;
Federal officials told Fox News they are not sure how many of the weapons seized from Guzman’s house actually originated in the U.S. and where they were purchased, but are investigating.
Out of the roughly 2,000 weapons sold through Fast and Furious, 34 were .50-caliber rifles that can take down a helicopter, according to officials.
Federal law enforcement sources told Fox News that ‘El Chapo’ would put his guardsmen on hilltops to be on guard for Mexican police helicopters that would fly through valleys conducting raids. The sole purpose of the guardsmen would be to shoot down those helicopters, sources said.
Speaking of “Fast and Furious”, Federal Judge Amy Berman Jackson rejected the Obama Administration’s claim of executive privilege in regards to withholding documents related to the Congressional investigation earlier this week.

Well….that’s a bit embarrassing.
So bringing “Fast & Furious” back up for discussion, is that regarded by lefties as “racist” or are they blaming Bush for it?
You’re racist if you DON’T blame Bush.
Awwww shit, WHAT WAS I THINKING? I don’t blame Bush so thus I’ll proudly accept the title of either “evil BushChimpyHalliburtonCheney racist” or “Republican Bastard” as my nuthatch liberal sister calls me.
I spent some time yesterday researching just that point.
Wikipedia confuses Fast&Furious with the operation the Bush administration tried and shut down for ineffectiveness, Operation Wide Receiver. This may be because from the get-go, Democrats in a position to know better (Jane Harmon, former Congressman and CEO of the Wilson Center, Obama, and Holder at the very least.) have claimed the operations, separated by several years and some important differences (Wide Receiver included co-operation with the Mexican government, as well as attempts to trace the weapons. Fast & Furious was mere waiver of our laws.) were “the same.”
Also, at the time, Barack Obama told Sarah Brady that he was working on gun control “under the radar.” Later, they tried to use the results of Fast & Furious (loose American guns in Mexico) as a basis for stricter gun control laws.
Hillary Clinton’s record of deception is no different in kind or magnitude from that of the rest of the major figures in this administration.
Wiki is not considered a credible source for much of anything. The header for their home page states “the free encyclopedia that anyone can edit”.
Likely, the White House, the Obama staff or someone from the DNC edited the article on F&F and Wide Receiver to make them all Bush’s fault.
We gave them .50 cals? Why the hell did we do that, again? Listening to the news, I never got the impression that anything that serious traded hands. I wonder what else did we provided our ‘best friends’ in Mexico?
Over 200 dead Mexicans?
Just curious. Under Hildebeast’s proposal to hold manufacturers and other parties liable for harm caused by “their” guns, would that mean that if a F&F weapon was connected to a murder or other crime, that the “injured party” could bring suit against the US government?
“Fast and Furious”… the gift that keep on giving! Holder and the DOJ/ATF minions that came up with that “brilliant” idea should be in a Federal poundthemintheassprison for that shit…
Shockingly there is no mention of this on CNN’s or MSNBC’s websites. MSNBC is too busy reporting on emails. It might come as a surprise to you that they are focusing on Snyder’s emails while ignoring Clinton’s. They are also focusing of Track Palin’s “PTSD”. Oh and surprise, surprise they quote Paul Rieckhoff who says It’s not President Obama’s fault that Sarah Palin’s son has PTSD,” said Paul Rieckhoff, who heads Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA). “PTSD is a very serious problem, a complicated mental health injury and I would be extremely reluctant to blame any one person in particular.”

Well, if we follow the “logic” of the left, when it comes to e-mails and prosecutions for things that happen under an administration, the left should be totally down with prosecuting Obama and Hillzy for Benghazi. After all, they were in charge.
Same logic the left is applying to Snyder and Flint. Even though the Flint city commission and mayor voted 7-1 to shut off the Detroit water and go with Lake Huron water. That led them to use the Flint River for a water supply because the Lake Huron pipeline wasn’t ready for two years.
Paul Rieckhoff is a shitbag. He’s a camera whore and a charlatan. Fuck him.
Maybe we should hire the cartels. Shooting down helicopters with .50 with such efficiency and all.
Wait…they TRACED it to the top of the cartel. So F&F is a success after all! /sarcasm
Anybody surprised? I sure as hell ain’t.
And of course there’s the “take down a helicopter” crap with the .50 again. Never mind that a thrown rock, a flock of birds, a powerline, or a gust of wind will also bring down a helo, they always fall back on that shit, because of that dumbass “SWAT” movie.
At least a half-dozen Hueys were brought down by bow & arrow during VN.
You’re right – doesn’t take much.
Almost forgot a little known nugget of history: the Branch Davidians shot down an ATF Huey during “the siege”.
“Take down a helicopter” is not a stretch here.
Most MIL 50 cal. applications are anti-material use.

True, but how many scumbags have the skill to make such a shot, or even know which end of the .50 launches the bigass bullet? Given the widespread availability of .50BMG rifles in this country, combined with the notable dearth of perforated helicopters falling out of the sky, I’m thinking the media doth protest too much on this topic.
Agreed.
Oh, but the media mavens who whine about this have long since learned to use trigger words, and words that sound like trigger words, to further their agenda – that anyone who doesn’t toe their line is a terrible, horrible person.
Just because they don’t know what the frel they’re talking about, does it make their harping and screeching any less invalid?
Is anyone surprised by this? I’m not. The drug cartels have their sticky little fingers in every major city in this country.
And small towns as well here in the South. Every small town boasts one or more Mexican restaurants that are much nicer facilities with nicer decor than any other local restaurants. They are frequently staffed by Mexican nationals (you learn to spot them after living close to the border for decades) speaking pidgeon-English who never seem to stay long. There is a constant turnover in staff.
I believe these establishments are owned by the cartels and serve several purposes, first as bases of operations where vague deliveries and takeaways can be explained as normal restaurant business; second they are an ideal means to launder money from drug sales; and last, they are an easy conduit to bring illegals into the country and move them up the chain, all for a large fee to be worked off as cartel employees.
I have written articles about this for American Thinker but they’re afraid of appearing racist and offending legitimate Mexican restaurant owners.
I reminded them that they refused to print my article about Obama being the first Affirmative Action President back in 2008 for similar reasons. Now that term is bandied about their site freely and constantly.
